  1. As in none of the 17/18 year olds in the Academy could step into a Championship game right now? No, those players are stolen from the crib. I'm sure we've got half a dozen on our books right now that will play significant minutes for us over the years.
  2. Again, a player's legend grows as soon as he's destined to leave. I don't want to lose Travis, because your captain walking out on you tells you that the club is fucked behind the scenes, but he's nothing special. PL clubs have never been interested. Ipswich wanted him as a bench player. JDT didn't rate him - it's only really Eustace that has got a consistent tune out of him.
  3. Travis is nowhere near the footballer Tronstad is.
  4. We've had the misfortune of being the only club in England owned by owners with bulletproof finances. They've completely torn the heart and soul out of the club, but they have enough money to keep paying our (dwindling) bills so nothing is done. It's a zombie club. A shell of the club we all started supporting. We're in football purgatory.
  5. They haven't played in front of silent or toxic fans.
  6. Yep - there was a Hibs fan on Twitter saying his throw-in is worth £1m alone. That's a good first touch and finish from the already much maligned DeNeve.
  7. It's a comically underfunded squad. I have absolutely no idea why they still own us - they must love embarrassing themselves.
  8. Some of those that regularly watch the U21s say he's a cocky little shit and it'll come back to bite him as he progresses in his career. Sounds like it has on debut.
  9. This is what I hate the most about the transfer window. We've dropped one point already because we've gone into the season with an incomplete squad and seem in no rush. Anyone arriving now will take weeks to get up to speed (see Henriksson), if they're even match fit. We'll rue these dropped points at the end of the season - as we always do.
  10. I mean we run Hedges out there every week. I consider that cruel too.
  11. Good, we can do them for tampering.
  12. Unfortunately, by hook or by crook, they keep paying our bills and that's enough for many fans.
  13. Let's hope they either hang on to him until we get new owners or he's sold for £16m to someone. Any money we make on him will just disappear and prop up the Venkys.
  14. We'd have beaten Spain if Southgate had the balls to play him over Mainoo.
  15. Nuisance factor being he bullies the CBs, holds the ball up, wins headers and brings others into play? He's clearly not a natural finisher, but if he was he wouldn't be here. Giles would get 15 assists playing with Gueye up top.
  16. If this is our final squad then yes we're going to struggle. We need a starting RW and at least another option up top. I'd like the Swiss lad in regardless of Travis staying - if Travis goes then we need 2 in CM, or a switch in formation.
  17. I watched their game yesterday - you'd be furious with your GK if you were a Sheffield United fan / coach. Was weak for 3 of their 4 goals. Bristol City spent over £12m+ on players last year. No idea about this year as there are lots of loans and undisclosed transfers. They've had steady reinvestment into that squad. Meanwhile ours has been starved of money (both on the wage bill and in transfer fees) for 3+ years.
  18. Rumour has it we've been after him for months and he's keen to come - as the season has now started I'd be amazed if that transfer gets done.
  19. As always, the legend of a player grows as soon as he leaves. Brittain is a good Championship RB, but he's not a worldie and he's not a game changer. Alebiosu rolled a ball across their 6 yard box and absolutely nobody attacked it. Brittain would have been similarly frustrated yesterday.
  20. Baynes is a miserable bastard at the best of times.
  21. Travis couldn't fight his way out of a wet paper bag. He's always been a pound shop Savage.
  22. He took him off at half time because he was injured.
  23. The steadfast refusal to play Gueye from our fans astounds me. He makes things happen when he's on the pitch.
