  1. "There could be, you never know," chuckled Mowbray. "We're three centre-halves down and there is a fair chance we're working hard behind the scenes, so let's wait and see. "Keep your eye on it, is what I would say. Keep your eye on this space and see if anything materialises." Guess we'll wait and see...
  2. Was nice while it lasted, unless it's Rovers playing hardball...
  3. I would question Ayala, not him personally, but his injury record. And why he was brought in to be one of our three main CB's, alongside Lenihan and Williams who are also injury prone. I'm not one to criticise Mowbray but we really needed a CB who we can play 38 league games, minimum. Injuries are part of football, but itwas madness to bring in a CB with Ayala's record considering the his competition.
  4. This is a guess, but I believe the 2nd commentator is just a media guy. Not actually a former footballer with an insight into the game, which is bizarre. A lot of clubs take the local BBC radio output, the club would be best served following suit...
  5. Didn't realise you could watch midweeks on red button!! Cheers. Much rather watch that than the OTT partial iFollow commentary team. Absolutely dreadful.
  6. What the hell is the point of a message board like this then? That's what fans do, theorise....
  7. You know what I find useful? The 'ignore' button. 2 and a bit days to get a LB in and make this a very successful window.
  8. Norway LB gone cold. Need a new one though. Got to see someone through the door. 1 week to go - Next Friday 5pm it shuts
  9. Signed today confirmed - https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2020/september/rovers-snap-up-highly-rated-goddard/ No idea who he is.
  10. Interesting. Would he get as much game time there as somewhere else? Thought that was what Utd were heavily factoring into the decision as to where the lad goes.... Who knows what to believe!
  11. Yeah, ideally we keep Williams and bring another CB in but suppose budgets will have the final say.
  12. Delighted with this signing. We absolutely need another CB though. Currently we have Lenihan, Ayala, Williams and then Wharton/Magloire. Those three senior centre backs, I fear, won't complete full seasons. They're all injury prone. Despite his Leicester/Bournemouth performances, I'd still move Williams on and try and get another CB who hasn't got a poor injury record. That said, beggars can't be choosers.
  13. BBC funding is getting cut left right and centre. It's no surprise unfortunately, they just haven't got the resources. Have you checked the local radio service they offer? Most are very good at covering across the whole of their patch.
  14. Bit unfair to knock the lad for doubling his wages and playing in the Prem. I'd look at Ajayi and Bartley and think, I can take one of their spots....
  15. Appreciating he was our Player Of The Year in his first season, and without being too disrespectful to him.... I suspect Bristol City thought the same of us when we first bought him.
  16. Must admit I'm wary of our attacking threat without Dack or Armstrong. But from the rest, out of Gallagher, Brereton, Chapman, Rothwell, Holtby, Buckley, Butterworth, Vale and Dolan; 2 or 3 of them need to step up and prove they are Championship players minimum, contributing every game. Mowbray needs to weed out those who can't cut it. Out of all those, Rothwell, imo, is lucky to be still in and around the first team. I'm no longer enthused when he's on the pitch and don't trust that he can make an impact in the final third.
  17. Imagine being sat at a keyboard discussing a teenagers appearance. ?? Anyway.... I'm relatively pleased with the transfer priorities. Time for the academy lads to step up further up the pitch. Just hope we avoid long term injuries which we've suffered dreadfully with the past few seasons.
  18. If this is true, I don't find this surprising at all. Could it be because they are winding down their interest in the club? Or is it because they no longer trust Mowbray? Two big money signings, as things stand, have failed terribly. Why would you trust a manager with that on his record with any more of your money
  19. Agreed. Not helped by people claiming inside track on the finer details of the transfer. Frankly it's boring, unappreciated and reeks of attention seeking.
  20. Hi guys been a member here since 2006, seven years on and I'm starting a blog as I'm an aspiring journalist studying an MA in Sports Journalism. Take a look if you get a chance and any feedback would be great! http://anotherewoodview.wordpress.com/
