  1. Dario Marcolin. Thoroughly uninspiring signing from Lazio during Roy’s time. I also remember writing Michael Watt (gk, loan, from Aberdeen) on my Shoot team tracker on the wall at some point in the 90s.
  2. Is he the same Peter Devine who took that dreadful penalty on nick hancocks football nightmares?! 90s cult classic edit: just seen someone else confirm this further back 😂
  3. Loved that! Proud Rover. Wharton immense. A great team effort. kudos to Vale, he did a good job. Only quibble was edun…🤷‍♂️ Not sure what he did at all.
  4. Lost my dad exactly the same way to this cruelest of diseases. whilst he was before my time at rovers, I’ve been following his journey on twitter and he rarely lost his sense of humour in the face of adversity. I’m surprised to hear that he has passed away given his relative condition, but I can tell all that this will be a bitter sweet blessing in disguise. No-one wants to get to the real latter stages of MND. RIP Len. Another MND warrior taken too soon.
  5. Giles, playing left full back at the weekend for boro, did more in that one game than he did in his entirety for us, earning MOTM. All he had to do was be played in his current position - who’d have thought? What a breath of fresh air to be Mowbray-less.
  6. And if it is to be an HSH client, get Robins in. Man knows what he’s doing. I’d take him in a heartbeat
  7. Purgatory. Complete change needed. It simply must happen in the summer. Build something new
  8. I don’t buy the ‘but who would venky’s replace him with line’. Life’s too short: Mowbray year on year is on par with Einsteins definition of insanity. I’ve reached the point where I don’t care whether it works if not; I’d rather take the gamble and see what happens. heard some Bantam discussing the impact Hughes has had on them in 3 games despite the results. What I’d give for some passion and identity like that. Supporting Rovers is a painful, downright depressing and thankless task again.
  9. Worst WBA we’ve played in a while. There for the taking if we had any sort of conviction
  10. I’m thinking of going, on my lonesome. Been with my wife 18 years now - long enough for romance to be dead, right? Real romance is blue and white
  11. I was at the Chester game. A certain David Lowe scored for them in fact, I’m confusing myself. This was 4-2 against Wigan in the cup in the late 90s 😂
  12. I certainly agree on the inconsistencies. Seemed to be advantages for us, but immediate whistles for small things on their players which were questionable in the first place. Certainly disrupted the flow of the game after first 20 minutes.
  13. He absolutely should have according to the rules of the game.
  14. It It happens all over the pitch, not all are given. Less likely to be given in the area as well - just the way it is. Not a penalty for me, but the initial foul definitely was one which was a shame it didn’t work out to our favour. would you have been happy had the same penalty been given against us? I don’t think the referee had a great game by all accounts - certainly lots of frustrating things. However, I don’t think he got everything wrong as Mowbray is suggesting. Not an easy game on that surface, so a decent point.
  15. Advantage was the correct decision at the time I thought. My point was that because it then carried into the penalty area, this became a bigger shout that overtook the initial foul in the crowds and teams eyes which seemed to work against us rather than get the initial foul. SmHaving seen it back, it was not a penalty after it so should have been called back to initial foul just outside the area. something similar happened in the second half as well on one occasion where we would have been better with the stoppage, although I can’t remember exactly what it was.
  16. Buckley and Travis were both clear yellows to me. The Town lad and Van Hecke should have seen red for two yellows. the BBD penalty shout first half, definite foul, to which correct advantage was played; however, one of those cases where the advantage puts you in a worse position sadly. I thought Huddersfield were a well oiled unit so a decent point. They looked more likely to win at times. Whoever scored would have won 1-0. Frustrating that the pitch stifled Rothwell and Buckley games. TM made the right shout with Gallagher but should have put him more central and aimed for knockdowns. the 3 centre halves were all excellent for me. Wharton or Lenihan MOTM. Wharton had no grace at all but crikey he does the job well. an enjoyable visit to Ewood with a decent point and 2nd place. Happy new year!
  17. Having just taken part in the Blackburn 10k, first time up to Ewood in a few years for various reasons, it was sad to see Ewood looking so grubby, certainly from the outside. Needs a good power wash! How expensive is that? Interior looked much better. what was more surprising, or not perhaps given those in charge, was that the club shop showed no signs of life. How many times will you have up to a thousand people in the vicinity of the ground on a Sunday morning, especially buoyed by the current form. I would have certainly spent a few pounds. Missed and trick spring to mind. great to be back at Ewood however and determined to make the Barnsley game.
  18. I’ve just entered Blackburn 10k. Had no idea that it existed! Bit of a drive from Shrewsbury for a 9.30 start but couldn’t resist. Will be just after dads 2 year lost battle with MND and always enjoyed our time at Ewood together so could be a bit of an emotional nostalgic trip.
  19. I know this thread is old, but I remembered it and saw this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ultra-Rare-Blackburn-Rovers-2000-125-Years-Shirt-Small-Mens-VGC-Kappa-/154700315029?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0 I have mine, unused in box with tag still in. I was actually the match day mascot for this game!
  20. I hail originally from Stafford. Always found it out, and quite fortunate, how we had a relatively week accent despite being surrounded on 3 sides by stoke, Cannock and wolverhampton.
  21. Pathetic defending. Subs dire. The actual quality of the players I mean
  22. I want Mowbray to go as much as most on here, just for a change from the staleness. However, odds are against him now aren’t they… If this is true, for him to have best chance of success, he needed backing with a striker. He wasn’t, so chances are he will do worse, not well enough to be backed and is gone at end of season. The crux: if true, the above is almost inevitable. So why wait another year for the inevitable, malaise set in, watching player contracts run down so assets that could be important for future success with a new manager disappear for free so the job for the next guy in is even harder? such a frustrating club to support, jeez.
  23. I would have thought running out of actual shirts to stick the name on would be more of a problem 🤷‍♂️
  24. I hate ‘false 9’ with a passion. Another nail in the coffin of football as I loved it
