  1. I would suggest that considering they have only done it once in 11 years and have employed 8 managers in that time, that it's a pretty reasonable suggestion.
  2. I'm guessing this time next year it will be viewed as a step up.
  3. It was Bowyers first ever gig in management to be fair, so he cant be classed as a journeyman for his time here. He wasn't great by any means, and should have been nowhere near the job. But at least it didn't take him 5 years to finish 8th.
  4. If players are back on Monday for pre season then surely there will be a friendly or two before the Accrington game on the 9th? Seems a long time to wait to play a game. Unless they are doing some behind closed doors maybe.
  5. If Unleaded is correct about them not liking him, i also thought it would be down to something like this.
  6. Is it a poisoned chalice anymore though? Any manager looking in will have seen the last guy get 5 years at the job, shaping the club how he saw fit with little to no pressure to deliver results or sell anyone. I would say if you can get your feet in, it's probably the most comfortable/cushiest gig in football.
  7. "Corry Evans is committed, are you?"
  8. True, it wouldn't be like this club to do anything that senseless would it.
  9. Rich Sharpe bizarrely mentioned Woodgate at the very start of all this, and gave a good portion of his column up talking about him. Ever since then I've been convinced it will be him, and the rest of it is just window dressing. Probably as others have said, they are waiting until June 30th so they don't have to pay two salaries at the same time.
  10. Waggott probably started the conversation with "thanks for your call Carlo, just to let you know you will have to work with Dave and Ben"
  11. On that logic Coyle was the right choice too. His promotion was more recent than Mowbray's aswell.
  12. They are both average to half decent mid table second division footballers and should be replaceable. However, this is 2022 venkys owned Blackburn Rovers. If both went, you can 100% gaurentee that whoever replaces them won't be as good.
  13. If Ainsworth was a free agent I could see this. The fact we will have to pay Wycombe for him though tells me it isn't going to happen unfortunately.
  14. Woodgate took over Bournemouth when they were 7th, got them to 3rd before stumbling down to 6th and only qualifying for the play offs in the last week of the season. If after 6 weeks we employ Woodgate then surely questions have to be asked.
  15. Yeah I saw it pop up and read the replies which automatically gave it away.
  16. Where are these attractive season ticket prices? Only one I see is giving families a week to find £849 for 2 adults and 2 kids, if you can't do it within that week it goes up to £899.
  17. Despite what Sharpe says I really can't see us all of a sudden going for managers under contract at other clubs at this stage, we won't even pay compensation to get Lowe and Benson off the books so we're not going to pay a club for a manager when there is plenty out there that will have no fee. Woodgate or Cocu. I'm convinced it will be one of those.
