  1. I don't want to sound like a broken record, but it can't be long until Mowbray decides to shoehorn Bennett in somewhere else now that Nyambe has made the right back spot his own. I'm thinking left back, to allow Downing to move up to left mid, with Rothwell back on the bench.
  2. I agree with most of your last couple of posts, I wasn't happy with a draw last night, and thought we played pretty average all through the game. We were on a run of 5 wins out of 6, and Swansea had lost 4 out of there last 5 at home. I don't think you can use the "played a fair chunk of the game with a man advantage" card though as we only had a man more for 10 minutes!
  3. I thought Peter Whittingham left us straight after our promotion back to the championship, but turns out he actually played in an early league cup game last season.
  4. Downing is probably the fittest member of the squad, despite being 35. If we play Bell or Bennett at left back in one of these away games then it's like we asking to get beat, not good enough. Gallagher for Graham we might get away with.
  5. We haven't won 5 In a row at this level since or promotion season back in 00-01. I have a feeling we'll run out of steam tonight but lets see, there is certainly nothing to fear there.
  6. Unless we somehow go up, I see them pair being our strike force next season. No way are Dack snd Graham going to be here.
  7. Exactly. Yes we have three games in a week but after that we have a nice 10 day break until the next game. Keep the same side, they are winning and we are starting to see some nice partnerships building over the pitch.
  8. There's still a chance this game might be picked up by International TV believe it or not. Last season only 10 of the 32 third round games were played on the Saturday at 3pm. I remember our game at Newcastle, the club announced it was a 3pm kick off, only to announce it was 530pm a few hours later. Games like Sheff Wed/Luton, WBA/Wigan, Milwall/Hull & Preston/Doncaster were all moved to cater for the international audience last season!
  9. Nobody is buying Dominic Samuel unfortunately.
  10. I still think that Bennett for Rothwell will be the only change for Saturday. I enjoyed the last week I have to say, but I also feel I can read Mowbray like a book, a 3 or 4 game winning run is usually followed by a horror run of 1 win in 6 or something. I think this is the start of that run, 1-1. Prove us all wrong Tone!
  11. £30 Huddersfield, logic says £27 for Forest but that hasn't been confirmed yet.
  12. Interestingly, I have just read in the LET that since the start of last season, nobody in the side has more assists than Bennett (8).
  13. I could totally see Rothwell dropped for this. Armstrong moved over to the left side, with Bennett bought in on the right ahead of Nyambe.
  14. Crops up everytime he hits a bit of form that link. I sense another "Hoilett will sign in 24 hours" scenario here.
  15. More guff from Mowbray. 4 Changes coming. The sides that have the most consistency and tend to be towards the top are the ones that have a settled 11, that have developed partnerships over time, and where everyone knows what they need to do. We'll never get anywhere making 3 or 4 changes every week for the sake of it.
  16. Usual away surrender I'm going for, 3-1 Stoke.
  17. The best thing is, you just know it will be all change again at the weekend.
  18. Thought old Tone got it right tonight, Rothwell was superb, I really hope this is a start of regular games for him. Evans and Travis dominated that midfield, thought they played well together. Only negative being that Bennett will obviously come back in on Saturday.
  19. What a strange article. “There’s one or two after the weekend who are having tests, but I’m not going to tell you which ones and give the plans away," he revealed to iFollow Rovers ahead of the game. In other words, I haven't decided whos turn it is to play on Wednesday yet... “We’ll see if they can get through training today and we’ll pick a team that we think can be really competitive and try to get another three points. He says this every week, why is it so tough for our players to "get through training" ? “[Joe] Rothwell’s one of those players and there’s one or two others to be honest. We’ll see. Ah yes, of course he is. As predicted right at the start of the thread, Rothwell's next start is currently pencilled in for New Years Day. Another one - “I don’t want to build Brentford up because I really believe that we can beat them" Then goes on to say... “But they’ve won five of the last six, scoring three at Wigan, three at QPR, three somewhere else as well. “They’re a decent football team who have some very good individual threats, particularly with [Said] Benrahma and [Ollie] Watkins, who can hurt you," he added. “They have a lot of foreign players who a lot of people wouldn’t have heard of, but they’re very technical, very talented and move the ball around well. “They’re organised and can pick you off. It’s a test for us and a good challenge for us. At home we can beat anyone on our day, so let’s hope Wednesday is our day." Tony Mowbray is such an oddball manager, I just can't understand him at all.
  20. The first one against Preston was an own goal. Just because Mowbray said he's giving it to him doesn't make it his.
  21. I think it was a 2 and a half year deal he signed, so his contract will be up at the end of next season.
  22. Whilst I agree I certainly wouldn't be going after Ainsworth, but if its out of him and Johnson, why on earth would you go for the latter? At least Ainsworth has worked in the football league and has experience of the day to day management lifestyle, Johnson would be an absolute disaster I feel.
  23. I think Mowbray is pretty lucky that the fans are only really starting to question him now, and its pretty poor form from him to go in at the fans like that at the first signs of any unrest. We have been dreadful for 12 months now, that good will from the third division season was only going to last so long. Anywhere else he would have had much more "abuse" by now than he has had here.
  24. One guarantee- Rothwell doesn't start.
  25. What on earth have you seen to make you even think this was a remote possibility? He isn't getting a gig as good as this again, he's never walking away. Especially after a win.
