  1. I imagine come the end of the season our wins, losses & draws will all be a similar number, our goal difference will be somewhere between 2 & -4 & our league position will be somewhere between 12th & 16th.
  2. Couldn't agree more. If I can manage it living in Cheshire which is rife with Utd, City, Liverpool & Stoke (?) I'm sure people who live in Blackburn with the club on there doorstep can. I see similar here, most of the parents in my lads under 10's team are Port Vale fans, but there kids rock up at training in Utd, Liverpool, City tops etc. I ask the question every week and just get told " how can I make him a vale fan when all his mates support Liverpool etc". Easy, like I have, make an effort to get him interested in the club, take him games etc. It really isnt that difficult, theres no converting my lad to a "big club" now.
  3. Can't be recalled until January?
  4. Second lowest attendance in the second tier today.
  5. First half was the usual Ewood affair, saved by a peach from Derrick. Second half was much better with Gallagher on for Buckley, who to be fair I thought showed a few nice touches but looked a little lost. Thought we looked more fluid with Rothwell on, both him and Arma should have scored really. Still, good win and hopefully something to build on.
  6. Spoiler.... He won't.
  7. Does anyone remember that year where there were two group stages in the Champions league? Think the second group stage replaced the round of 16. What a long drawn out farce that was.
  8. Can't fathom anyone who would pick England glory over Rovers. Agree with AJW though, if there's one thing I would love to see Rovers do in my lifetime then it is win the FA Cup, unfortunately we're a long way from that happening.
  9. I've only missed the Hull game so far this season, and even that I watched on TV. I have seen no evidence of this "new style" so far, apart from as someone else said, a few non descript passes across the back four, into midfield and back again before playing either a long diagonal ball to Gallagher or one through the middle to Graham if he's playing, instead of Lenihan pinging it forward at the first opportunity like he would normally do last season. It really was very Mowbray like that after all his pre season jabbering about being more "technical" that within 5 seconds of the opening day of the season, we kicked off, played it back to Lenihan who then lumped it straight out of play. The 4 home games so far including the Oldham game have been really, really dull, and I don't see that changing anytime soon, any walk on's that attended any of those games will hardly be rushing out to buy a season ticket. I look at this side at the moment and I haven't a clue who is going to score our goals, we don't remotely look like scoring from open play unless the other team practically gives us a goal, Bennett at right back and strikers on the wings is becoming more infuriating with every game that goes past, Buckley looks to be the next Mowbray project that he will continually shoehorn in off the bench now, he just looks like a slightly more "technical" as Mowbray would put it Corry Evans, I can't ever see him changing a game, he should have been sent on loan somewhere for some much needed experience. If we get above 12th for a prolonged amount of time this season I will be amazed.
  10. And we're one of them. I'd be very surprised if we weren't bogged down between 12th-16th all season.
  11. Really? Based on what?!
  12. Well, they did. Why sugar coat it? "Because they are young lads"? They looked miles out of there depth against really poor fourth division opposition, and both had awful games. That's not to say they won't improve in the future, but if we're looking at that game, then yes they were terrible. Platt has just gone on loan to The National League hasn't he? That's probably his level, and good luck to him there. Nyambe was awful too I will give you that, but I've seen more of him to suggest he has some of the tools to at least make it at this level.
  13. Draw written all over it this one.
  14. Easily one of my faves too, probably in my top 3 or 4. I always wondered how much better that 02/03 side that finished 6th would have done with a fully fit Jansen In the squad.
  15. Player wages. Cost of match day tickets, nowhere should be more than £20 for the "working mans game" Players not being played in there correct positions.
  16. No, both of them looked terrible.
  17. Groundhog day. The exact same positions need addressing as the Summer 18 window, the January 19 window, and the Summer 19 window.
  18. Pretty sure we can still sign free agents?
  19. He might aswell go away with them and play some football, because isn't going to play here.
  20. Did we put Huddersfield as a category A game at start of the season?
  21. Have to agree. Before Tuesday you could see why he hadn't scored in 20 odd games. If he stays on the right hand side he wont hit double figures, play him through the middle every game and stop messing about then he might do.
  22. Why? Both young players with potential, signed for practically nothing, both will probably never be regular first team players with us, doubtful if they will ever play regularly at this level either, one already sold for a profit & Chapman will probably go the same way. I expect him to go on loan in Jan and move on a permanent next summer. He will never be a regular here.
  23. Really cheap deal for a player with obvious potential, good U23 games, few eye catching cup games and sub appearances, sell on for a small profit. See Nuttall, Joe.
  24. To be honest I thought it was as clear as day when he signed him that he wouldn't get a look in. Fully expect him to go out on loan in Jan, can't see him starting a game here before that.
  25. We can't score goals. WBA 2 Rovers 0
