  1. Exactly, Paul. It’s a mediocre division outside the parachutes. The fact this shambolic club has spent three years out of four knocking on the door tells you that. But, the flip side of that is it doesn’t take much to fall the other way - as Hull have shown this time.
  2. Shows how modern football has lost the plot when we are pleasantly surprised to see a goalkeeper catch the ball.
  3. ‘Lowey’ is too busy spying on the manager and the STC for the owners to move down to the academy.
  4. Want an example of how much the modern game has gone away from its traditions… the team sitting in 15th (so obviously not challenging, I.e what you would say is appointment TV) have had one 3pm game all season.
  5. And less of us. As if, say, some Coventry fans are feeling the pinch and they have to knock going to games on the head as a result there’s a big catchment area of potential fans across their city, other parts of the West Midlands and Warwickshire to take their place… we don’t have such a luxury.
  6. So on some weekends there could be 70% of PL matches shown live at all manners of times. Like I said it becomes moving wallpaper/schedule filling instead of appointment to watch TV.
  7. If we were on course to hit their revenue targets it wouldn’t have been extended. They are panicking because they are obviously somewhat off it. Not a ‘smart’ move, just a necessary one if they want to have bonuses all round.
  8. Think a few folk forget how crap this league is when predicting the next campaign. Outside the parachutes there’s bugger all in it player wise, it largely comes down to managers, if Val isn’t a dud I don’t see why we should expect a relegation scrap.
  9. Exactly, it’s turned into moving wallpaper, instead of the big weekly event it was when it was a couple of live games a weekend.
  10. Do you still think they need reducing? Doesn’t sound like it. We’ve sold 7,000, a figure so poor they’ve had to extend the early bird, obviously the fanbase isn’t seeing them as being enticingly priced.
  11. Tronstadt POTY for the wider fanbase and that cesspit of negativity brfcs. Thoughts, Rev? Still sticking to he’s poor/average/slightly better than Corry Evans line? How about you you put your hands up that you got this one wrong and we’ll have an amnesty - I.e folk can’t keep raking your former opinion up either? Fair?
  12. That’s different than a catchment area. A catchment area is where you are the main player in a town/in borough(s) etc. We obviously aren’t in Cheshire and Cumbria. Doesn’t mean we don’t have fans further afield, of course we do, now more than ever with the demographic change in Blackburn - but we also don’t have the luxury of being the only show in town in a 20/30 mile radius like so many other clubs do.
  13. Have our owners said anything since c2012?
  14. You think we have an encouraging future under Venky’s?
  15. My view is if that run had continued more of the 50/50 waverers would’ve gone the other way, football fandom is all about momentum (good or bad) and the general vibe around the place, it was horrendous a month ago, now, many more will be on the side of ‘good season that’… but yes, we’ll never know.
  16. And the reason they bumped up prices in the Riverside in the first place was to get the camera facing stands busier (which worked). Now they’ve gone the other way and it will empty out the others instead. Such a bunch of incompetents, beggars belief.
  17. He is a journeyman by any definition of said football parlance (27 and he’s been at 8 clubs). Though if being able to read Wikipedia makes me an ‘expert’, then I’ll take it 👌
  18. Claim your seat deadline has been extended too by the look of the e-ticketing.
  19. Yep, we’ve already sold more than the total sales in 2021/22 so whatever we end up selling this time it certainly won’t register as a ‘protest’. That run from nowhere by Val has saved a serious embarrassment to Swaghail.
  20. Journeyman that’s spent his career in Ukraine, Belgium, Watford, Forest and a few loans and he’s on that kind of money. What a time to be a pro footballer (the likes of Simon Garner must want to weep).
  21. You’d imagine he’d be surplus to requirements at Birmingham, they’ll be eyeing back to back promotions a la Ipswich. But two years left on his deal.
  22. Three seasons out of four around the top end of the league on a bottom half budget. I have many issues with the owners, but considering the dysfunctional set up they have to work in I have no qualms with what has been served to me on the pitch by managers and players.
  23. The Gooner is on the record in the last set of FF minutes saying his target is to increase revenue, that ain’t happening if they are 2,000 STs down on last year’s total and they then hike prices. But yeah, it’s a ‘thank you to the fans’, not a panic move at all…
  24. Also they keep the claim your seat deadline until the end of the phase, even an extended one, so say you fancy moving seats next to your pals or whatever, but there’s no seats available close by, you therefore can’t unless you wait until phase 2 when non renewed seats open up (and it will cost you an extra £50). One product, one price.
