What’s the strategy of Blackburn Rovers, Chaddy?

Yep, same fella that popped up on those Twitter live streams a few months ago defending the regime to the hilt.

Anyway… doesn’t the social media reaction tell us exactly why the regime will be feeling pretty relaxed about it all this morning.

Demographics have changed quite a lot since 2010 (though yes, not like it was an ethnically homogenous and affluent town then either). However, the fanbase is still there just more disparte across Lancs and beyond.

And that’s fine, but then you have to expect 6,000 plus bums on seats as it’s a Saturday 3pm.

Ah I see, nobody will buy a Championship club if they happen to be situated in a town that’s poor (even though the majority of the fanbase doesn’t even live in it)

Yet, look at the reaction post the second postponement, the fanbase was moving our way, midweek turn outs were showing that, it was happening anyway without them particularly releasing. Next steps would have been to get real turnouts published far and wide. But now, bloody mindedness, especially when it comes to ‘my club’ means they will not take to being told ‘officially’’. ‘Just get behind the team’. The regime will be delighted this morning.

Surely they quickly pivot to the Sheff Wed game. The Watford one could very well backfire.

No I don’t think they do understand, SG. If anything they think the likes of the Coalition and crap fans are the problem not ‘the club’

It isn’t asking much and it is for our betterment. However at least 4,5k will not, under any circumstances, boycott the Watford game.

That is respected, but Wheelton is just saying how it is actually is with a big chunk of the rump match goers that remain, not how we on here would like it to be.

I agree, 6,000 for a league game in the Championship for a club of our stature is a protest, but an organic one. So get those figures published. Problem is I doubt it will be much lower for Watford as 4k,5k will turn up on a Saturday at 3pm whatever happens (some out of bloody mindedness now ‘nobody’s telling me what to do’). It is what it is and I’ll support it, but I think it could turn out as a strategic error as the fanbase was slowly uniting in recent weeks, it’s now divided again.

I can only think about the people that sit around me, the people I travel with to away games (not that I’ve done too much of either this season) I’d be very surprised if the majority follow the Coalition’s direction. And that’s the rub of this whole thing, assuming a critical mass of the remaining match goers are onside is a big gamble from the Coalition as the regime will be itching to spin it to their benefit if they aren’t, divide and conquer.

We’ll see how it pans out, but the replies to the Coalition’s Twitter post says we are still a long way from, say, where Blackpool’s fanbase was with NAPM.
