  1. They are just doing a job and generally get on with it until the next guy comes in. Like you say confidence is the biggest factor.
  2. Yep, a cast iron rule of football, another lesson this regime has ignored for a decade.
  3. End of the day they don’t sack managers, especially ones that toe the line, regardless of results. So we just have to hope the time he’ll get by default gives him the breathing space to get it right.
  4. Of course ‘99 doesn’t have ‘an agenda’, apart from wanting the best for the club, so surprised at that comment. He’s obviously a passionate Rovers fan or he wouldn’t be spending so much time on here (like the rest of us)
  5. So say you didn’t play for them or support them but you really understand how big they are, the local area and what they mean to the fans, can you have the job?
  6. Bit harsh on ‘99, this is for discussion not just cheerleading. I’m sure he was delighted with the win, but if he gets mocked for posting his thoughts we may as well have all just posted ‘wasn’t that brilliant’ and then locked the thread.
  7. All that’s changed (and it is a big one) is that the parachute clubs are struggling, the other 20 sides, well 19 for obvious reasons, are at a very similar level, as always, so it’s fine margins.
  8. So which clubs does it suit then? And why?
  9. Game isn’t sold out to either home or away fans yet you can’t buy a ticket on the day. Another nonsense of modern football.
  10. Yes, we might sell 9,500 STs instead of 9,000.
  11. Some side that for the second tier, no wonder it went on to win a cup.
  12. Swag was a piss poor CEO, however he was a canny fecker who’d been around the game a long time and knew how to manage ‘stakeholders’. Look at the state of it now, Gest-hail don’t even have the basics. It ‘can’t can always get worse’ here.
  13. Just think back to the 125, doesn’t remotely feel like the same football club.
  14. Can't afford to have Sky Sports on in Blues Bar but happy to turn down potentially thousands of ticket sales. Make it make sense 🤷‍♂️
  15. ‘Overwhelmingly united’… hmm, not sure about that.
  16. Like I said I don’t remember that, but my point was more the atmosphere, I don’t recall a crowd being like that against a manager throughout a game for a long time, even when we scored.
  17. Yes it is ironic that those that call us ‘negative’ are the ones with such a negative view of Blackburn Rovers and what it could be.
  18. Still a very sizeable number within Ewood too of that mindset, don’t let the chants fool anybody.
  19. Not sure about that, ‘sort it out’ definitely, but not ‘sacked in the morning’. But regardless, long time since a manager has seen Ewood turn.
  20. ‘But, but crowds’’ ‘Bury’, ‘20 million a year!’
  21. Main reason being we’ve sold fewer STs to start with, thousands of the Holders we have left aren’t bothering and we are selling fewer walk-ons due to poor results and expensive pricing… ergo it leads to the depressing sight that was the Blackburn End on Saturday (a lower tier of which, by the way, that had been pretty full for a good number of years pre this season).
  22. Then why hasn’t it happened? Campaigning journalism was bread and butter to local papers for decades, not any more - they get clicks or they die and the Editor/publisher obviously doesn’t want to take the financial risk that having no access to the club long term would bring.
  23. Unfortunately the local press is now on life support and the football club of their patch is one of the only drivers of clicks (and ergo advertising income) left, so no chance they’ll go after the regime.
  24. Obviously means nothing here but pretty sure that’s the first time I’ve heard an explicit chant for a manager sacking from a Rovers crowd for nearly 9 years.
