  1. *Cue Merce with his ‘this time next year…’
  2. It’s a midweek in December for a side in 18th who can’t win at home, I wouldn’t be able to give my ST away to a pal, never mind get a tenner out of them. It’s an offer they’ve tried at least three times before for night games, they don’t work as floating fans aren’t interested in them.
  3. ‘Bring a friend for a X’ has never worked before and it certainly won’t work at the moment with that home form.
  4. No chance the ‘sold’ tickets were 13,500, so 4,000+ bought walk ons? For a red button midweek in November? That’s considerably more than any Saturday game this season (bar Derby).
  5. Indeed it is as this lot uniquely have no interest in making a fist of it on the pitch or giving it up as a bad job.
  6. Hope you’re right, but I see absolutely no inclination of wanting to sell. For me in November 2035 we’ll be having this same conversation (with no academy and Christ knows in what division).
  7. Their revenue in real terms has collapsed in fifteen years, yet are they any closer to the door now then, say, in November 2015?
  8. They’d still go nowhere in such an eventuality. They’d just mothball the stands and close Brockhall and the Academy
  9. Floating fans and even a load of ST holders aren’t arsed about night games, red button has done them in. Same everywhere just amplified here due to having so few ST holders to start with in a big ground. Its a non-issue to me as there’s nothing that can change it in November.
  10. There’s absolutely no point in worrying about/analysing crowds during the season, as always, the dye was cast in the summer. If you just about scrape 9k STs (not even convinced we’ve sold that many as no final figure has been forthcoming in the FF minutes) then unless you are at the top of the league and thousands upon thousands of walk ons are turning up (for weekend matches largely anyway) then we have what we have when we are in 18th, which is a two thirds empty ground most weeks (more at night). If the club makes no effort in increasing the ST base and we are doing bugger all on the pitch, then this is us.
  11. They don’t want him missing the Portugal group with the likes of Curaçao and Jordan, even at 41 he’d be getting the Siuuu out.
  12. With Marilyn! The Missus’ Aunty and Uncle, small world etc.
  13. Who was the landlady/landlord then?
  14. End of the day you are up against it straight away if you only sell 9k STs. And it really comes to the fore for night games as small away followings, smaller number of walk ons and ST holders giving it a serve… of course, as always, sell more STs in the first place and you have that larger crowd in the tent to start with to build from. Alas the regime aren’t interested in that.
  15. Hare and Hounds was still doing really well too considering the demographic change in Lammack.
  16. My neck of the woods. Hundreds of folk (many in fancy dress) traipsing up Pleckgate Road on the way to the Sportsman’s… can’t speak for others but I’d end up in Jazzy Kexs. Sigh. A very different time in a very different town.
  17. Of course I’m not saying that anywhere close to the announced crowd will actually be in the ground, same everywhere for midweeks these days.
  18. I used to love that smell hitting you as you left the Penny Street market (after having a sarsaparilla, of course).
  19. Open and honest. Aye, ok. Not said a single critical thing towards the regime since he joined… fair enough, he’s here to earn a wage and they pay it, but open and honest, he ain’t.
  20. c9k ST holders, 300 away fans, so yeah you ain’t getting much over 11k.
  21. Considerably so, but my point being there is still a sizeable fanbase out there.
  22. Wins over actual points to be used to fit an argument now.
  23. Hubris in this league always bites you on the arse. So maybe don’t let yourself get ‘egged’ on by by Liverpool supporting social media personalities purely advancing their own brand and you won’t look so silly after.
  24. Yes, didn’t get the ‘poor support for Derby’ comment, if they hadn’t been so petty with the away allocation we could have been pushing 25,000 on - by the way there were considerably more walk ons for the 150th than for the 125 when the club was in a far better place. The support is still there, and if this club ever got it together again…
