  1. They aren’t needed right now. What are you learning from friendlies when half the squad pulls out ‘injured’ or the ones that do play play within themselves to avoid an injury for the run in?
  2. End of the day you just aren’t going to get more than one man and his dog on organised protests on a match day. We saw that in 2012 when the club actually had a big profile, big gates and the fanbase were generally united in thinking this lot were a rum bunch. Now we’ve a small profile, small gates and the fanbase are anything but united in their views on these owners. The only chance you have is for it to organically kick off at the ground - we saw it a little bit at the Stoke game, you would at the Coventry game if that game sent us down, but that’s about it. Here, actual sizeable protest always takes the same form - fans walk away, and we’ll see that again soon enough with the upcoming season ticket sales.
  3. Friendlies with a month of the season to go, what ridiculous scheduling this is.
  4. None of that crew seemingly have the critical thinking skills to join the dots between our ‘12k gates’ and perhaps the culprits as to why they’ve ended up at this pitiful level post 2012 as the rest of football has seen crowds boom - and maybe, just maybe it doesn’t have to be this way.
  5. On betting exchanges- Betfair being the biggest. Works like a stock/currency market. You can place back bets as normal, or you can be the ‘bookie’ and lay bets that others will back. So you can lay £1000 on a horse, if the horse wins you lose the grand to whoever backed it with you, if the horse loses you’ll take the grand off whoever backed it with you. So obviously inside knowledge of a horse’s form/wellness etc could see you clean up as a layer.
  6. The first paragraph doesn’t happen without the environment the second one has created.
  7. ‘Why does nobody at the club care about winning matches?’ Why do you think, Rev?
  8. We’ll take less than 1k for a Sky dinner time game at £35 so he’s quids in, well maybe pennies in, but it all counts when there’s a bonus to pocket.
  9. roverandout will soon be losing his excitement on the England thread in the summer 😅
  10. ‘Generational talent’ Another cringe expression brought in by the modern nerd-journos.
  11. This is the problem when the FF are the last remaining ‘fan consultation’ group. This is a forum that was set up in those lovely olden days where asking John Williams to try a new pie supplier was as hard hitting as was needed. The club cannily used Covid as an excuse to quietly drop the more forensic mandated bi-annual fan consultation meetings. If only as much effort was put in at that place re actually improving it over trying to pull a fast one.
  12. It’ll be at least £45 for a Sky dinner time game, lowest following there ever at a weekend?
  13. I’m in fatalism mode these days, I just can’t ever picture a time where that lot have fucked off. “They would see this country burn if they could be king of the ashes”
  14. Indeed, very negative behaviour (typical of Blackburners though, to be fair)
  15. Course not, not a chance the ‘authorities’ will get involved with this lot. The court case will soon be forgotten and the bills will be paid, but no further ambition than that for the club, for another decade as we slip down the leagues.
  16. As always joining the dots as to why there’s ’only 11,000-12,000’ seems to be beyond them.
  17. They are definitely spooked as I don’t ever remember ‘statements’ mid season before from this lot and we’ve had about three on that snazzy blue background already… a few chants aimed at those that like to stay in their submarines is obviously all it takes (doesn’t mean they’ll actually feck off this side of the century though).
  18. If anyone knows of any bookies who are willing to offer 100/1 for us to just avoid defeat, if you could send me an IM.
  19. Ipswich would beat us 99 times out of a hundred at Ewood? Get out of it.
  20. End of the day if you’ve had enough, don’t go. It’s your money, your time, your stress levels, your morals. But even if we ended up at Oyston level crowds, this lot still wouldn’t give a flying fuck.
  21. As always a load of pissing about. Just make either Cov or Sheff Wed a tenner and get a big crowd in for what could be an absolute pivotal game for this football club (well, we will see it as pivotal, not sure ‘the club’ is arsed either way).
  22. Of course some games are easier. It’s not a handicap system.
  23. I certainly wouldn’t have expected JDT to have won many of these ‘easier games’, we all know that the wheels had come off for him. However, the ‘new manager bounce’ is also often a factor too. Especially in such an evenly matched league and a fair few winnable games to go at. End of the day he’s won zero of them.
