  1. Not saying it is directly comparable. However, that squad should’ve been nowhere near the relegation zone, the fact it won a cup and pretty much the same squad came 6th the year after tells you that. But we were down there, that’s football. End of the day top level football used to be about winning trophies, 7th or 17th, made no difference when half the division weren’t given a European place. A successful, memorable season would be defined by winning things, not another season winning nowt, but finishing 5th.
  2. Should we have sacked Souness in 2002 then? After all we had relegation worries for a lot of the season, and that was with top players like Cole and Tugay coming in.
  3. Not sure knighthoods are a barometer you can put much store in, whatever industry they are part of.
  4. ‘Look. We are a small club, pre Jack we only had 6,7k on!’ So did everybody!
  5. 110 league titles between two clubs? Sounds a tad Mickey Mouse.
  6. You looking forward to seeing what Suhail can do with the commercial side, Chadster?
  7. …and a load of the fanbase will lap it up.
  8. Last couple of years he hasn’t had much rest, has he.
  9. Few of those sound like 5 a side/pub quiz team names.
  10. … make that a voluntary double relegation https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2025/june/04/club-update---blackburn-rovers-women/
  11. Of course, Glen, has to piece by piece, Apologies if I misread your post, as it initially red to me that though some may want a sale, a strong board was actually the aim. If that’s an initial, short term aim as we work towards a sale, then fair enough, who could disagree with that - as after fifteen years we know they won’t ever change course, or run the club in a professional way to help this club fulfill its potential, so a sale has to be the ultimate aim.
  12. So fundamentally the Coalition is not standing on a platform of wanting new owners? WATR got a lot of stick re sticking to their long held stance of wanting communication and engagement with them, for wanting change at board level, but necessarily ownership. But that is also the preferred outcome of the Coalition? Even though there is no indication as per Glen’s post above mine that they have any interest in changing course? So ‘enough is enough’ is when? I’ll be honest I thought that’s where the Coalition already was, obviously I had the wrong impression.
  13. So voluntarily relegating the team is not the issue, just the fact they weren’t communicated with earlier that they no longer had a team or job?
  14. Masher seems to fundamentally not understand that ‘the club’ is not acting in good faith.
  15. We’ve sacked one manager in a decade. The rules of football don’t apply here.
  16. Does make me laugh when you see replies to club facebook posts going ‘we have the worst fans going, never get behind the players’. Aye, ok. Our lot don’t know they’re born.
  17. Neither do I, I wouldn’t buy a ST (especially at these prices) if I didn’t intend to go to them. But important, milestone life stuff also happens between August and May.
  18. So a big pal or family member were due to married at the same time as Swansea at home… and you’d say ‘no, can’t make it, sorry’.
  19. New line of biscuits were due to come in to the offices.
  20. Back in the day we used to arrange our holidays, family events etc around the fixture list. No chance I’d do that now, imagine missing out on a good September deal for your hols so you don’t miss Millwall at home.
  21. Christ, he’ll spot quite the difference in club culture.
  22. Hmmm? I wonder, perhaps that they are now all on TV so half your ST Holders don’t bother - I.e desolate ground.
  23. Of course, same everywhere. But that’s the point, midweeks are desolate at Ewood.
