His usual pedantic, contrarian self but then ignored my post, of course. Very simple, we have pretty much stayed static over 12 years as crowds have boomed across England to 1950s levels.
-
Also, it was still all a bit novel in 2012, weird shit going on, but surely it wouldn’t last for ever (13 years later… yes, it will).
-
At least he wants to engage young fans, I suppose, his predecessor didn’t as kids don’t like live football and would rather have a Rovers NFT or something. Maybe one day we’ll have a marketing team that wants to engage all fans, be novel, wouldn’t it…
-
Our average crowd is c1,000 up from where it was in 2012/13 - how do you think that compares with the rest of the Championship? (On the proviso that league crowds in England are at their highest levels since the 1950s).

We had a higher attendance than 94/95 in 95/96, 97/98, 98/99, 2001/02, 2002/03, 2009/10 (wonder what happened in 2010 for it to be the last?) than 94/95. 96/97 and 2010/11 was pretty much the same as 94/95 give or take a hundred or so. We had over 23,000 in every PL season with the expanded ground apart from between 2005 and 2007, and in 2011/12 (can’t imagine why). To be fair suppose we can’t expect a Blackburner who was an Arsenal fan through those years to recall off hand…

Football is about results, we suddenly started getting them and are now potentially one win away from our best finish in 13 years, a first play off campaign in 33 years. So of course any momentum against the regime has stalled as most fans want to just focus on the team. It’s the long game as we are never far from the next debacle here, and I’m sure Glen knows that.

We lost half our ST holders between 2010 and 2012, so that chaos did take its toll on our support… and it’s never recovered.

Still looks like they are banging prices up after tomorrow. Mad, it really is, what a way to nip in the bud any momentum.
-
Disingenuous as always. Come out with pie in the sky figures like ‘we need to sell 23,000 STs if we have £150 pricing like many fans want’ Who is suggesting 150 quid tickets? Of course there couldn’t possibly be a middle ground between what we charge and 150 quid. Fundamentally a slippery bunch protecting their positions who seem very apt at chucking in straw men arguments to deflect.

I have not ‘naysayed’ anything. My point is if folk aren’t turning up in numbers to the pre game meet ups (they never do, especially if the team is winning) then there’s not a lot you can do about it - so let’s focus on things that do get traction, I.e the social media/other media stuff Glen is doing. Unless the team is crashing to relegation you won’t get much take up at Ewood, the vast majority of the crowd purely react to results, it’s as simple as that, it’s not besmirching your efforts in any way. -

‘Best we’ve had’… isn’t he the only one we’ve had since Shagnew? -
No revisionism from me, a decent Championship player, like he has been for years. The only revisionism I can see is from those now tiptoeing away from their 'he's a League 1 player', 'he'll never play at this level again' statements.

I'd prefer them if they were standing at the Riverside side of the Blackburn End, so with views of a pretty full JW and Blackburn End lower instead of a sparse Riverside and Darwen End... kinds of loses its 'big moment' feel. -
So bit of momentum then... so presumably they won't be nipping that in the bud by increasing prices at the weekend?
-
‘Steaming pish till March’ for a still 23 year old who was a regular for team around the top 6. He’s inconsistent… like most in this league, it’s why he plays (and will continue to play at this level). Like I said, lack of understanding on what makes a Championship player.
-
How about the deals to those players that will actually be wanted elsewhere? I.e Travis, Tronstadt, Brittain, how they coming along?
-
Bloody hell rigger, you are almost as daft with this as Rev with his Tronstadt stance. Give it up 😄 Dolan has been pretty much a nailed on starter for years for a team that has spent three out of four seasons around the play off places for the Premier League - Markanday is still being loaned out to League 1 and 2… and he’s three months older!
