v Qatar SC - 22/07/25 - friendlyMattyblue replied to lraC's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard The owners are running down the club, this place wants the best for it.

Category A then … for the mighty Birmingham. Obviously they expect them to fetch plenty so it’s priced as that, feck trying to attract a good home turnout for the opening Ewood fixture.
-
They've done well to sell 323 more considering the ridiculous hike.

Valérien Ismaël: Blackburn Rovers Head CoachMattyblue replied to DE.'s topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard I’ve just answered and told you why you’re different. You just can’t comprehend what folk are saying half the time.

v Everton (h) - 19/7/25 - pre-season friendlyMattyblue replied to arbitro's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard We’d just finished outside the play offs to the Premier League and he chose some lad from a German regional league… aye ok.

Valérien Ismaël: Blackburn Rovers Head CoachMattyblue replied to DE.'s topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Hmm, I wonder. Maybe because you like to jump on fans that ‘don’t trust the process’, ‘to just give time and patience’… and you will be doing the same again if we go on a bad run this time. Nobody likes hypocrisy.
-
Wonder what we have more of. ‘Head of’s’ or you know, pro footballers.
-
More heads than Medusa down there.

Valérien Ismaël: Blackburn Rovers Head CoachMattyblue replied to DE.'s topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard He did want him sacked after a month after all…

v Everton (h) - 19/7/25 - pre-season friendlyMattyblue replied to arbitro's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard ‘A body through the door’ as the parlance goes.

v Everton (h) - 19/7/25 - pre-season friendlyMattyblue replied to arbitro's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Yeah defo a JDT signing, that one, I mean, what does he know about playing as a forward .
-
Just not a normal football club. Those long standing employees that remember the BV era must have seen some serious drop in professionalism and basic standards .
-
Valérien Ismaël: Blackburn Rovers Head CoachMattyblue replied to DE.'s topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Another JDT (bit without his charisma, of course), I’d be happy with that.

I was being sarcastic, I.e the kind of cheap skate thing they’d do.
-
The Club Secretary forgot to press send for the request for a game, I heard.

Why would I have known about a secret game against Blackpool? And of course if we had they would have at least mentioned it. A midweek game in the middle of the season to help a player back to fitness, maybe they wouldn’t, but of course they would announce the final friendly regardless of the venue… come on Chaddy, it’s piss poor for a supposed Championship club.
-
They could, but why wouldn’t they have announced it?

v Everton (h) - 19/7/25 - pre-season friendlyMattyblue replied to arbitro's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard It’s pre-season. I’ve seen us play appallingly throughout them… then first day, played well, and vice versa. Teams are at different stages of fitness so you have to take everything with a pinch of salt… case in point Celtic Park yesterday. Nobody picks up any injuries and minutes in the legs is what it’s all about regardless of results, but yes, despite all that, who wouldn’t rather see a win on a summer’s day, whatever the format.

Nevermind ‘ambition’, ‘or we should increase gates by doing x’, ‘there’s an opportunity to do y’. They aren’t now even fulfilling the absolute basics of running a professional football club… and that’s doing a disservice for non-pro clubs who will be able to organise a friendly for the weekend before the season kicks off.

150th Anniversary kit/celebrationsMattyblue replied to Proudtobeblue&white's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Red and black again. There’s a whole palette out there.

150th Anniversary kit/celebrationsMattyblue replied to Proudtobeblue&white's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Our USP is halved (quartered before I’m shot! 😅) shirts, so why not hone in on that for away kits, that classic from nearly 20 years ago aside we just haven’t done it, which I find odd.
-
v Everton (h) - 19/7/25 - pre-season friendlyMattyblue replied to arbitro's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard It’s the Championship, the margins are very small between the non-parachute clubs. If VI gets them organised we could well be steady enough… or we may not be, but when you read ‘definite relegation battle’, you can never say that in this league pre kicking a ball.

150th Anniversary kit/celebrationsMattyblue replied to Proudtobeblue&white's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Exactly, Plymouth had not one, but two ‘away’ kits last season, why? Because it certainly wasn’t for colour clashes…
