Yep, banned in youth football now until they turn 12.

Better than nothing but should be till the end of May to catch another payday (or better yet, how about no phases - one product, one price).
-
Don’t recall your answer, sorry. Pretty simple question, is Rudy the right person to be heading ‘football operations’ at Blackburn Rovers?

Valérien Ismaël: Blackburn Rovers Head Coach

Don’t think you can pick individual games and say ‘that’s the one’. As who knows how the other games would’ve subsequently gone. Could’ve got a point down Bristol, but then not got that late Sheff Wed goal. We’ll never know, but what my opinion is not backing Eustace is what cost us. -
So you think we now have the right people with the likes of Rudy Gestede?

Was a really poor goal, especially as the commentators had just been lauding the ‘physical presence of Hyam’ 🤦♂️ -
Amazing that he sees no issues on the football side (I.e not the Commercial and communication side before you start reeling off your commercial and comms plan).

News From Other Leagues

That would’ve been a good idea until this summer. Hudds crowds have been built on years of cheap STs… and they’ve just hiked them up hundreds of quid for next term (after their worst season for nearly two decades too). -

Which for a bloke that has lived surrounded by Rovers fans for almost thirty five years has always grated on me. -
‘Decent season that in the end, you know what I will renew’… No you can’t, now off sale - and you’ll be charged an extra fifty quid when we do get round to putting them back on sale. ‘err, nah’
-
Sheff Utd were one of the worst teams the PL has ever seen. They conceded five at home in four consecutive games… back in this league they still finished miles away from everybody else below them in 3rd

Masher knew what you meant too, but he can’t help but be pedantic (think he trawls the forum in order to find as many posts as possible to go ‘acthhhhualy…’) -
Exactly, hit your revenue target in the most risk free way is their approach. Why would Swaghail risk missing their target/bonuses for the sake of a few thousand extra bums on seats (for the good of the team, the atmosphere, the future health of the fanbase? Nah, we’ll stick to the 9k if it’s all the same)?

Yep, draws are what have done for them this season (they’ve actually lost two fewer games than us). -
Exactly, keep the prices as is and this run out of nowhere could have against all odds see them announce a bigger take up than we’ve seen in years… one in the eye for us rabble rousers - but like you say they’d rather whack them up and pocket the extra dosh from a trickle of purchasers to August instead.
-
Daft thing is they could actually get to last years total (amazingly) if they held prices now.
-
His usual pedantic, contrarian self but then ignored my post, of course. Very simple, we have pretty much stayed static over 12 years as crowds have boomed across England to 1950s levels.
-
Also, it was still all a bit novel in 2012, weird shit going on, but surely it wouldn’t last for ever (13 years later… yes, it will).
-
At least he wants to engage young fans, I suppose, his predecessor didn’t as kids don’t like live football and would rather have a Rovers NFT or something. Maybe one day we’ll have a marketing team that wants to engage all fans, be novel, wouldn’t it…
-
Our average crowd is c1,000 up from where it was in 2012/13 - how do you think that compares with the rest of the Championship? (On the proviso that league crowds in England are at their highest levels since the 1950s).
-
We had a higher attendance than 94/95 in 95/96, 97/98, 98/99, 2001/02, 2002/03, 2009/10 (wonder what happened in 2010 for it to be the last?) than 94/95. 96/97 and 2010/11 was pretty much the same as 94/95 give or take a hundred or so. We had over 23,000 in every PL season with the expanded ground apart from between 2005 and 2007, and in 2011/12 (can’t imagine why). To be fair suppose we can’t expect a Blackburner who was an Arsenal fan through those years to recall off hand…
-
Football is about results, we suddenly started getting them and are now potentially one win away from our best finish in 13 years, a first play off campaign in 33 years. So of course any momentum against the regime has stalled as most fans want to just focus on the team. It’s the long game as we are never far from the next debacle here, and I’m sure Glen knows that.
-
We lost half our ST holders between 2010 and 2012, so that chaos did take its toll on our support… and it’s never recovered.
