  1. Near 50% win rate with these players and budget, highest league position for a decade last season, all the cup wins, says his methods are working. Not a ‘love in’, mere facts. Put the ‘good football’ stuff to one side, it’s a results business and he gets them.
  2. Best season in a decade last season, we’d have gone top 6 with a win last night (plus more cup ties won in a year than TM in five), with these players and budget . So how that is ‘incredible hype’ over actual results?
  3. The players are performing. I can’t believe anyone would look at that squad and point the finger at the manager and those players. Just look at the bench last night to understand what JDT has to work with.
  4. There’s no lack of passion with these players, it’s a lack of experience and general Championship nous… and like I said we know why that is.
  5. There is no lack of passion, those lads gave everything. The blame is at the door of these owners.
  6. No Dingles, Blackpool or Wigan this season so it’s the only local game for either side, so of course they’ll fetch plenty.. as we will there.
  7. Perhaps because in the 80s and early 90s Rovers/Oldham was often the only local-ish derby (along with City) as the likes of Bolton/Burnley/PNE/Blackpool were languishing in the third and fourth divisions.
  8. I listen to Radio Lancs quite often (support local radio and all that!) When they first had him on he was wooden as anything, but he’s great value now, very dry. ‘Bought the title’, my arse, by the way! How much did Berg, Gale, Pearce, Atko, Wilcox cost again?
  9. That was Birdy all over. So often you’d see someone new on the coach or sat with him in a pre match boozer and he’d explain how he met them away at Barnsley or wherever and they’d travelled on their own, so he invited them to come with us in future.
  10. Must be joking! What you usually hear at Ewood is far closer to the Twitter fools than anything that is said on here. BRFCS has always been an outlier.
  11. A decade going nowhere as the club slowly withers on the vine has knocked the ambition out of them, so they obviously don’t know how to react to an employee of BRFC that burns with it.
  12. If he does warrant anything?, Of course he does. The 74th minute applause sounds exactly the right approach.
  13. £30-£35 for these games is purely to cash in on 5k+ away fans, the fact more enticing pricing could attract a few more Rovers fans wouldn’t even cross their minds for a second. Plus, the BEnd and JW lower tiers will look fairly well populated on the night (unlike the sparse, but hidden from view Riverside), so good job done all round from Swag’s perspective.
  14. I first realised I needed glasses when I mixed up Andy Cole and Jon Stead… in fairness they were down the other end of the pitch. 😁
  15. For me, (and I don’t say this lightly) the club has been pretty sensible with the allocation, as for a night game on Sky at £30 it’s difficult to gauge how many they’ll fetch. Especially as they only brought c4k for a dinner time match and so didn’t actually require the upper tier to be opened last season. Give them the bottom tier first, if they sell out that give them more, all fair enough.
  16. Catching practice? How quaint. Keeper training across the game now looks like it consists of passing triangles and other foot based practice, who needs to use hands!
  17. They haven’t sold what they have been given yet after being on sale for weeks, and the game’s tomorrow, so what revenue is the club missing out on exactly? That allocation sounds like half of the upper tier and the bottom (with netted off sections). Their Twitter account stated that ‘on the day sales to be confirmed’, so every chance they will still be able to rock up and buy one at Ewood if they do sell out today. I slag off the commercial operation down there regularly, but don’t see the issue on this occasion.
  18. I was a regular on the Ewood Blues coach for a good few years. He often came across as a bit gruff, but a real heart of gold. Obviously he was the ultimate Rover for his own attendance record and commitment, but he also looked after so many fans over the years, especially taking young ‘uns under his wing on their first away days. The work and organisation he put into it with all the games, weekend trips, foreign tours and all the rest of it was so very much appreciated. RIP 💙
  19. Get rid of that one in November too and play those games in June and they’ll be on to something… but it’s better than nowt, I suppose.
  20. It is what it is at this modern day BRFC. You operate in the markets we do with the budget we have you obviously aren’t going to get Championship ready players every time. Just got to hope for improvements… starting with catching warm up style crosses for yon mon.
  21. Three international breaks between September and November has to be knocked on the head, ridiculous. Just play them all in a block in June, perhaps with one other break at some point in Autumn. Not all this stop start nonsense.
  22. Contracted to 2026 on Premier League wages… so no chance.
  23. Obviously not a particularly healthy situation to have the manager calling out/taking the piss out of the CEO every week… but I do enjoy it all the same.
  24. The thing with Leo is the simple crosses he drops/punches to nowhere in particular. Ball fired in at him with a six foot striker or centre half bashing into him then understandable, but he looks a bag of nerves even when unchallenged. I’m still fairly hopeful as the rest of his game looks solid enough, but TK he ain’t.
