  1. What you see on the pitch impacts you the most, I know you just said and guess what that’s the same for every fan. So maybe the club having a budget and a direction from the board that is set at just staying out of the third division may impact the product on the pitch.
  2. They comment of Swag’s obviously directly impacts what you see on the pitch.
  3. I imagine it was only thought up in some ‘brainstorming’ (the irony) meeting post the 3rd round draw. No strategic thinking here.
  4. What I would say is the relegated sides this season are a step up from the usual rabble that come down. Squads chock full of quality players as to be expected from long established PL clubs (less so Leeds but still an enormous wage bill). Luton, that lot and Sheff U will be more back to normal next summer. Doesn’t excuse anything but they are bloody tough opposition for our stretched squad.
  5. No problem with any of that, he’s not infallible by any means. If he was he wouldn’t he managing in this madhouse. I was responding to the posters saying we need a new manager yesterday afternoon - i.e the ones that have lost all perspective.
  6. Thing is over time it’s going that way anyway, who used an e-ticket/print at home for anything fifteen years ago compared to events you go to now? Now it’s growing and growing as market forces do their work and technology become more embedded with people’s everyday life. So why force it? Absolute nonsense from a club that has complete lost the plot.
  7. It’s a word with more than one definition, I was using it to highlight how opinions oscillate on forums wildly , obviously I wasn’t labelling random folk I’ve never met on a forum of actually having bipolar disorder if that’s what you are getting at.
  8. There were a fair few posts yesterday saying just that, yes. Of course we’ve lost to some non-parachute clubs, it’s the Championship, a load of similarly matched sides so we’ve beaten plenty too, ergo ‘competitive with the rest of the league’.
  9. Yep, when it comes to managing their number one ‘stakeholder’ - I.e the fans, ‘the club’ behaves in the complete opposite manner in every way possible compared to the days of John Williams. They couldn’t give a monkeys and they are more than happy for us to know that too.
  10. Great lad this Fraser, Head of Sales & Marketing, apparently. Though still waiting to hear what’s improved since he took over as if anything it’s getting even worse (which I didn’t think was possible).
  11. I’ll explain what I thought was a simple point again. Playing shite and getting well beat by far better teams with enormous budgets doesn’t change the fact we can compete with pretty much every other non parachute club - I.e perspective, not saying the manager should go etc after said shite day. We have a crap Christmas and new year period against a real mix bag of sides, obviously a different issue.
  12. The lowest of the low for me was last season (maybe it’s still going on) when kids had to pitch up in their own replica kit if they wanted to be mascot as the club didn’t have any - so a load of potential mascots would have to be turned away as no parent would be able to get hold of a kit post about September anyway. I’d call it ‘non league’, amateur’, but that’s an insult to all those well run clubs that really care down the pyramid.
  13. Who’s whitewashing it? It was a load of shite from the first minute. However, we also win loads of games against non parachute sides, ergo perspective and not bipolar reactions for a 46 game season in a division we obviously are competitive in.
  14. Not a chance we go down. We get our arses handed to us on days like yesterday but we win plenty against ‘normal’ sides and no reason that won’t continue. It was a crap afternoon but as usual on forums a fair few lose all perspective after a defeat like that.
  15. Why? The non parachute clubs are no better than last season, we are no worse. 7th/8th seems perfectly feasible.
  16. Well that went well.
  17. The only saving grace for next week’s gate is you’ll get a lot of fans who just fancy a festive game, folk back home for a few days for Christmas etc so getting thrashed the week before won’t necessarily come into it … but yes it won’t help.
  18. Certainly could be, and I’m sure plenty will look to pin it all on the poor sod in the dugout.
  19. You would think so, because of course this will have been part of a long term strategy/project plan, not just something made up on the hoof, won’t it?
  20. Would be the second row back in consecutive cup games after the Blackburn End fiasco… maybe they need to stop making such ridiculous decisions to start with.
  21. Just throw some teenagers on, kind of takes us back to where the blame lies again, doesn’t it.
  22. We have seen shambolic window after shambolic window, a bottom half budget and as a result a small, inexperienced squad. So guess what we’ll get plenty of beatings from these kinds of parachute clubs. It is what it is, I’m not going to hand wring after such games. On the flip side we could well have a decent Christmas period with the games we have coming up against ‘normal’ Championship sides.
  23. What has improved since this Fraser came on board? Now I could be being a little harsh as he may have very little in the way of actual executive authority but the commercial/marketing operation looks as shambolic as ever from where I’m standing.
  24. If we had 11/12k ST holders like we bloody well should have then definitely could’ve had a chance of getting close to that. Unfortunately with only 9k that would mean selling 11,000 walk on tickets, just not going to happen for a run of the mill Championship game, even if it’s Christmas.
