  1. Sunday morning musings on life with the Chadster.
  2. Always an odd appointment that one.
  3. Bundles never work here and the club know they never work as they usually say as much in the FF minutes … yet they still keep doing them. 🤷‍♂️ Still, suppose it’s better than closing stands.
  4. 13 years of these owners and this is where we are. Some ‘journey’, ay…
  5. Obviously not but it would sure as hell negate the need to try and save pennies by closing the Blackburn End.
  6. Hoe about trying to address it by increasing revenues?
  7. Conflating two issue here. Yes the money they put in is obviously necessary and is sizeable. Nobody ever questions that, well, they question why the feck they continue to do it (though maybe not for much longer). The issue with this lot has always been how they have managed this club for 13 years.
  8. What ‘sense of entitlement’ is there from fans down at Ewood? I rarely hear any. I’d say most parrot the lines of Swag more than any talk of ‘we expect/are entitled to’ etc.
  9. It’s a long season, 50+ games, twice a week. He’d have had ample opportunities in such a small squad. It’s obvious that JDT didn’t want him out without a replacement. It’s now put real pressure on a teenager to run matches game after game after game and potentially burning him out/injuries. Another shambolic window.
  10. The way they have run this club has been a disaster from where they inherited it, on and off the pitch. But yes, the club hasn’t gone bust and they still (just about these days by the sounds of it) pay the bills. So yes, not an absolute, complete disaster, yet. But it’s been a pretty grim decade and it looks as if it’s going to get much grimmer very soon.
  11. Obviously it won’t take place that day, we don’t do Friday nights at Ewood. So maybe a storm, a blizzard, players on strike for not receiving October’s wages.
  12. All goes back to the club not having a pot to piss in and pretty much booting a quality keeper out the door. Leo may turn out to be the new TK, or another Pears, these are the gambles this club now has to take, see also Telalovic
  13. This is a club that won’t even open the home end for 2,000 people because they don’t want to incur the cost of opening a couple of bogs, so I think we all know they won’t be laying on free coaches…
  14. Modern managers are all about keepers ‘being effective with their feet’, Pears is obviously the lower league Ederson then as the rest of his game simply isn’t up to the standard of a first choice Championship goalkeeper. It has and will continue to cost us points, and that’s purely on JDT.
  15. Load of parked cars on the old dog track behind the goal blocking the view from the away end. Evil Ken Bates pulled that club up from its bootstraps.
  16. ‘The Venky’s’… say no more.
  17. Definitely if it was at Ewood, but it’s rare for TV to pick a lower league team away at a PL side (unless at Old Trafford, of course).
  18. There were 2,000 in there for Walsall, that is plenty to make opening a few toilets and a couple of the bars viable. It also provides a choice for supporters, you know the people that *are* a football club. The fact the club is now attempting to cut costs for such piddling savings does not bode well.
  19. 550 less Rovers fans for a third round tie than the first. So was not opening a couple of bogs and concession stands worth it?
  20. Not a new ground like West Ham obviously, but there will be plenty that haven’t been for donkeys years or never in the younger generation, so we’ll take a few. Though maybe not WHU levels as it was only a tenner there from memory, not the £30+ this lot will charge.
  21. 5,038 home fans, made a mistake there Swag, they could easily have fitted in the JW Upper alone, make sure you get that lower tier closed next time.
  22. Tonight’s match sponsor is… Mike Graham, formerly Preston Blue of this parish and the new interim Trust chairman, I believe. A passionate Rovers fan, obviously, but match sponsor? Is this how much we are struggling to get local companies on board?
  23. So why didn’t he put the 200 Cardiff fans in there this time too instead of shutting the well populated (in the context of a September League Cup tie) home end? Ergo saving this vital few grand by closing the Darwen End. Crackers decision whichever way you slice it.
  24. ‘The project is for us to become a sustainable and established Premier League football club.’ A lot of time for GB but you don’t half have to come out with a right load of nonsense in this business.
  25. Difference being by the time the Riverside was being closed for early round cup ties there were only 200 or so left in there for such games, so understandable and had little in the way of pushback from supporters. Fans get it. However two *thousand* in a tier for an early cup tie being seen as unviable is a totally different issue and points to a club in big trouble…
