  1. I think that’s just letting him leave whilst saving face, he obviously wasn’t going to get the job.
  2. Get that O2G, but to have zero mention at all of ST prices (not the rise, but general pricing), probably the most pressing issue currently is a bit odd, no? But anyway that’s bye the bye, so what was the general jist of said discussion?
  3. You’d think so, but let’s give them a right to reply.
  4. Largely agree, but I’ll wait for K-Hod and O2G’s account of the meeting. But in reality I imagine they won’t have had a united front, as certain members of that forum won’t see these terrible sales as the fault of the club at all, but because we have ‘shit glory hunting fans who only want Prem’
  5. The October 2022 minutes that states the final figure, they were obviously still on sale in July.
  6. We supposedly sold 8,700 full season tickets last summer as per October 2022’s FF minutes. So if 850 haven’t renewed that’s 7,850 that have, thats your starting point before you even get to newbies buying one… yet he comes out with 7,300? Hmm, all very odd - but what we do know is whatever figure he finally agrees on it will certainly have surpassed that seemingly very moveable target of his.
  7. What a group. Like a prefect meeting with the Deputy Head grassing on their fellow pupils…
  8. £2 fee for your ST even in person at the ticket office - so why isn’t there a £2 ticketmaster fee every time you buy a match ticket at the TO then, it’s the same software and seat planner, no?
  9. 8,600 last summer supposedly, but like a good politician the figures he quotes never do seem to marry up…
  10. Like we’ve said, SBlue, he has zero interest in the long term health of the fanbase/getting bums on seats. There’s a revenue target to hit and if selling *around* 8k (I say ‘around’ as I’m not sure we’ll even get to that pathetic figure) then that’s that as far as he’s concerned. Lazy, cynical and totally without passion for this grand old club. So very sad.
  11. I’m seeing very little re ST discussion? Only a single sentence about the phase 2 price rise, not the whole *very large* issue. As an existential issue for the very future of Blackburn Rovers, I presume the discussion was frank and lengthy and it has just not been captured verbatim on the minutes?
  12. ‘Waggott said this was the ‘best response in five years’ and sales in phase one, which ran until May 7, had been above the target of up to 6,500.’ Best response is five years! So definitely 10k by KO then, great stuff.
  13. Each to their own, but I’d be on that private jet quicker than you could say Madri…
  14. And we need to look at it from their perspective too, most players aren’t fanatical supporters of a club, they are in academies from a young age, see it as a job - not in the stands every Saturday, living and breathing it like us, so generally they will pick moves for the betterment of their careers.
  15. Hmm, maybe they were just slightly different personalities, what do you reckon? He was a troubled soul in his 20s, like a lot of young lads. He had a tough upbringing, living in a tough area… But guess what he would have been a troubled soul if he’d have stayed at Everton living in the goldfish bowl of Liverpool too, winning trophies at Man Utd was bugger all to do with it… so what’s your post got to do with the point I was making?
  16. Seeing a ✍️ photo next to pints of lager and dark fruit is a first for me 😁
  17. If does, but considering claim your seat was flagged as last Friday it’s dragging on longer than last year. Just the lack of comms that annoys me. Why can’t they just put a post out: ‘we are at the end of the claim your seat period and are processing seat transfers. They will be back on sale on x day.’ A load of folk have been paid since Friday and may be interested (theoretically, not at these prices), so keep them in the loop…
  18. If I was absolute elite, and Rovers weren’t, I would go to the place where I would win most medals. I would then end my career at Rovers. Why did a famous Evertonian leave them as a young player for United? To win things, as unfortunately he knew it wouldn’t happen there, he then returned at the back end of his career. Eminently sensible and rational - but of course football is tribal, emotional, not always rational, so players won’t always make the best decision for their careers.
  19. You are conflating two things. Of course he would enjoy/have more pride in playing for Newcastle, however for his *career* as an elite sportsman it was the wrong move at that time - as his medal haul proved. He should have gone to United/Barca/Inter and ended his career at Newcastle, ergo scratching both itches.
  20. Both of those things should have happened. Shearer and R9, Sherwood and Zidane lining up in Champions League final…
  21. I’m glad he didn’t, would’ve made me sick seeing him in a Sharp emblazoned shirt… doesn’t mean it wasn’t still the right career move.
  22. Career wise he was a fool, the guy was probably only behind Brazilian Ronaldo as the best striker in the world, he should have won a bagful of trophies. Doesn’t mean that he didn’t enjoy being at his home town club, didn’t make good money. But it was a waste, just like Kane.
  23. He was a fool, heart over head, one medal for one of the players of his generation- should’ve gone abroad or United.
