  1. Considering over 4,000 were sold before general sale, at Ewood for said random game would be the answer…
  2. Not sure about that. There’s 15k+ seats in the JW and BEnd lower alone.
  3. Aren’t there 20,000 available seats in the BBEnd Lower, Riverside and JW? So if there are 5,800 left, wouldn’t that mean c14k sold?
  4. Wrong how? I said they should’ve put the request in last week as they were flying out the door, A fair opinion. I also said ‘all’s well that ends well’. And as for ‘wrong again’ glass houses and all that..
  5. Load of Dingles wandering round Blackburn town centre looking in vain for an actual boozer would be a sight to see 😁
  6. Swag seeing his stretch bonus slipping through his fingers…
  7. They didn’t, that’s why they are putting the request in now as they’ve obviously been caught by surprise by the demand. But all’s well that ends well.
  8. It will be better than a normal midweek. So say c14k/15k instead of 11/12k, that’s obviously not a bad thing. But if you are going to pick one match all season for a tenner, surely you pick an afternoon game in the run in in which you can get a *real* big crowd in to roar them on. I.e Good Friday against a promotion rival or the final home game against another. You’d be looking towards 22-23k for one of those. Better than nowt, but a missed opportunity.
  9. ‘We’ve done all we can’…
  10. No chance of that, JR! There’s Exec bonuses to think of!
  11. They should have realised that there is a real buzz around this fixture. 900 tickets for general sale was never going to be enough. The request for the extra 1,000 should have been in last week as they watched 4,000 fly out the door just to ST holders. Unfortunately ‘the club’ just doesn’t understand fandom and what drives big away followings.
  12. Reading aside, the academies of the others are a ‘nice to have’. An operation in using their financial muscle to scoop up armies of young lads and then loaning them out for years on end, often for nice fees. They unearth a gem or two, it’s a bonus. Here, the academy is now absolutely vital to our whole existence as a competitive club, and something (one of the few things left at this diminished club) to be very proud of.
  13. I’m with the Chadster. Loads of folk round me still worship Mogga. It was very evident against Swansea.
  14. Which we also did at West Brom, and that is a change from some of those pre Christmas away games where the towel went in very early…
  15. To be fair how teams perform vs different formations is a much more tangible and useful stat than the BS that is xG…
  16. TM would often have games where we’d fire out the blocks, pressing hard etc… such displays would then disappear for a good while. Fitness? Mentality? Tactical nous? Who knows, it would never last.
  17. The second tier is totally different now in the era of parachutes. If you don’t have them you can’t ‘expect’ to be competing for the play offs as a ‘minimum requirement’. Of course you can still make them, a couple of non-parachute clubs do every season, but with a middling budget everything needs to click into place - very good manager, good, motivated crop of players and a well run football club that does everything it can to get the best team on the pitch it’s resources allow. Do we have all that?
  18. It certainly is because of the promotion, the fanbase got spooked by L1, so he did deserve our gratitude for a swift exit from a division you can easily get stranded in. However, I don’t think the goodwill that came from that ever did dry up towards him, despite years of mediocrity, he had Ewood eating out of his hands until, perhaps, the last month or so (and he wasn’t exactly turned on then either) - which is all very strange and not something we’d seen before with a manager (or will see again)
  19. I am very ambitious, this is Blackburn Rovers. Sitting in fifth with ten to go says it’s possible. But you still need to be realistic when you look at our resources and how the club is administered - I don’t have much in the way of expectation, not because I don’t have ambition for the grand old institution of BRFC, but because I don’t have any expectation of the conveyor belt of incompetents that have somehow ended up owning and running it for a decade.
  20. Ultimately, no, as either way we’d still be kicking off in August in this division. But to have a top 6 finish for the first time since a calamitous PL relegation over a decade ago shouldn’t be sniffed at, it would be a clear sign of progress.
  21. You can have two opposing thoughts at once. I’d be gutted if we finished 7th, but I would still appreciate the job JDT has done in both league and cup with these players, budget and shambolic club set-up.
  22. Very perceptive Chadster. You’ve come a long way from when you used to refuse to accept that managers might not be telling the whole truth to the media… 😁
  23. I don’t venture to the badlands of the ‘We Did Warn You’ politics threads, but I presume it’s being commented on heavily in there…
  24. It’s the Championship, nowt between the non-parachute clubs, so any of them can unexpectedly drop points at any time.
