  1. What a show, compare and contrast to that current Saturday dinner time abomination on the BBC…
  2. Alan Mullery (remember him) used to royally slag us off on Sky, used to really wind me dad up 😁
  3. The side burns, the synchronised scarf raising, the League Liner… marvellous!
  4. It’s Venky’s, they don’t budge if whatever they deem a ‘value’ price isn’t met, so if that means £10 million is turned down then so be it. Though of course, if he is firing us to promotion in late January then it’s a fair gamble to take anyway.
  5. They do use paper pint cups this season from what I’ve noticed…
  6. Do some managers not see the team as number 1? If so, who are they?
  7. Can you outline in what ways he is improving/has improved the commercial operation?
  8. Thought you normally need proof? Or is that only when it’s something you disagree with?
  9. So the real reason he’s unhappy is because he can’t be arsed with JDT’s training sessions? Aye ok.
  10. Bit of a sleight of hand there by FSG. That reads that they are open to outside investment (and maybe a full sale at some point): A statement from Fenway Sports Group however refused to state that the Premier League club, as a whole, is on the market. It reads: “There have been a number of recent changes of ownership and rumours of changes in ownership at EPL clubs and inevitably we are asked regularly about Fenway Sports Group’s ownership in Liverpool. “FSG has frequently received expressions of interest from third parties seeking to become shareholders in Liverpool. FSG has said before that under the right terms and conditions we would consider new shareholders if it was in the best interests of Liverpool as a club. FSG remains fully committed to the success of Liverpool, both on and off the pitch.”
  11. I wouldn’t say it was particularly peculiar. Standard response for some fans when they get wind that a player may be off. ‘Shit anyway’, ‘bad apple’, ‘get rid’.
  12. Being midweek and all the transport palava in the build up I can’t see too many northerners heading down, but plenty of London Branch will be there bulking out the following, you’d imagine.
  13. Reading Broughton here definitely points to that being a possibility… https://www.lancs.live/sport/football/football-news/blackburn-rovers-brereton-diaz-transfer-25447980
  14. These ‘rumours’ get ever more daft.
  15. I always find it fascinating the ones that literally spend over half the game down there, often not even facing the TVs! May as well just stay in an actual pub with better (and cheaper) booze…
  16. We can debate the merits of Dack all day long. The difference he could make, sniffing out a goal etc etc. We all know he’s a far superior player to Hirst and Vale (well most of us do). But it’s all moot when there’s obviously been a personality clash… and there’s only going to be one winner. It’s a sad situation for all involved, but we might as well move on.
  17. He’s playing in the PL. But if SG is at the same level, take it we are expecting a £15million bid in January?
  18. They were expecting (and getting with Neil) mid table at best. A season of consolidation. Looking at their forum they now are worrying about dropping like a stone…
  19. Doesn’t help that so much of our own fanbase spout the same tripe about how terrible the Rovers support is. Swag’s useful idiots…
  20. Just shows how many floating fans can suddenly come out the woodwork when by pure luck of geography you have a vast catchment area to draw from…
  21. So? That’s his approach and it’s working. Three points. 12 wins from 20, in the automatic promotion positions with a middling budget. You’ve obviously got a bee in your bonnet, as what I believe is a rare trip to Ewood didn’t entertain you like you’d hope, but it doesn’t alter the fact it’s been a bloody good season thus far.
  22. I love a pint as much as the next man, but I’ve never understood the need to neck a pint of overpriced swill on football concourses…
  23. Or you could have been happy with Sam’s tactics grinding out win after win at Ewood, and ergo happy now too.
