If you are spending the majority of two consecutive seasons in the top six of a division that contains promotion places you surely look to take one. That is the point of professional football in a pyramid system.

So you don’t want to be promoted but instead just butt against a glass ceiling indefinitely (with the odd bad season possibly leading to L1)? What would be the point then of any of this?

But he isn’t the man in charge of the football side of the club and he doesn’t carry the can. GB is facing up and that’s fine by me, but if you want to hear platitudes and non-answers on topics that Swag has no power or influence over, then fair enough.

That’s what GB is here for. He’s a commercial director in reality and I’m happy enough to hear from him on commercial policies, I.e the annual ticket fiascos. But football matters, why, when he has zero influence?

He’s a CEO in name only, obviously helps to fulfil corporate governance obligations, but he is obviously not the head honcho at Venky owned BRFC.

Because he has nothing of any note to say. He obviously has zero authority on football matters.
