  1. Ah I see, it’s actually another Swag master plan, one of those ‘marginal gains’ he likes to talk about…
  2. Oh aye, the pitch was terrible that season. But by a few years later it was a cracking playing surface.
  3. Does it hell! Take it you can’t remember just a decade ago when we were winning PL pitch of the year awards?
  4. 500 then. Worked a treat, hasn’t it!
  5. I think the groundsmen do a good job considering the hand they’ve been dealt, and it is certainly looking better than last season, but it isn’t a ‘pristine pitch’. You don’t half swallow whatever line you’re fed from the club…
  6. Not shocking, totally expected and I said as much as soon as I saw it released last week, I’d have been shocked if we had sold more than a few hundred. I’d hoped the club had finally learnt the lesson after years of these bundles doing exactly this, but no, they’ve not only tried it yet again, but in a more restrictive way! @only2garners Could it be raised in the FF next week? I.e. why are they still attempting these when the club themselves have stated how they don’t sell well in previous FF meetings. And what is the rationale behind not just doing a simple, cheap ticket like plenty of other clubs seem to manage?
  7. ‘Bring a mate for free’, ‘£5 a ticket anywhere in the ground’, they are offers that will get bums on seats… not a multi match bundle for consecutive weekends in one tier of one stand.
  8. Boys will be boys and all that, obviously. As Gav says, was ever thus. But bucketloads of cocaine on top of the booze has given all this a different dimension across football over the last few years, and especially post locking youngsters down for two years. At local aways, a load of other folk come out the woodwork, folk that never step foot in Ewood, ‘cos it’s shit’. They go largely because it’s a good day out. Fair enough, better than an empty seat, and such games will always attract said people, but it’s a fact that a lot of these lads are off their heads by kick off and intimidating other fans that just want to watch a game. Obviously not you, you seem to be some kind of snake charmer that can talk round anybody with a ‘bit of craic’, but it is an issue for others. There's nowt we can do about it short term, but when safe standing becomes more bedded in then a lot of these issues will go away as your more ‘sedate’ fan can sit in the seating section, the local day tripper ‘lads’ can enjoy the standing section.
  9. No sympathy for them, they know they never sell, but they keep on doing it. I remember we did a ‘Big 6’ bundle the other season and about a 100 got sold. Could the FF ask in the meeting next week why on earth they keep doing it, when all prior evidence would have been telling them it would flop?
  10. All seater stadiums don’t help away from home. All types of fans are hemmed in together. Safe standing is the way forward. A standing section for those that fancy a raucous away end. But also a seated section for those that just want to sit and watch.
  11. Of course a game down at West Brom on a miserable Monday night, live on Sky, in February, is going to have your true blue fans of all ages there. Wigan on a Saturday afternoon, £15 a ticket, is obviously going to attract plenty more of those that just fancy a day out on the razz… and all the potential issues that can cause.
  12. Yes, it’s a bundle. The reason some folk don’t buy a ST or a half ST just last month is because they don’t want to tie themselves down to consecutive weekends, especially with one of the games being on Sky. It’s not about cost, but other non Rovers commitments in their lives. Do I think it’s a good deal? Do you? Yes, but then we would as we are fanatics happy to spend loads of time attending and obsessing about Rovers games week in week out - many others don’t have the time or inclination - they dip in and out of interest, go to a game when they want in a stand where they want. Swag, here’s my tip for next time - Pick a game, make it cheap anywhere in the ground, no strings, market the crap out of it - THAT’S IT! (Yet the club constantly come out with these convoluted offers that sell feck all!)
  13. Or maybe not offer bundles that have been repeatedly shown year after year to not sell well?
  14. And that’s a fine for some, probably the majority of young lads. But you are being a bit naive here, as I can tell you now at a game like Wigan with others who are not as well behaved, who’ve been on the booze and coke all day, having a ‘quiet word’ with them wouldn’t generally be advised….
  15. He came on at 75 minutes created a chance by beating a man and putting a cross in from the byline (missed by Buckley) and saved a point by clearing off the line. Decent cameo from where I’m standing…
  16. There’s not much between any of us, however, for me, AFCB have that extra bit of quality that will see more 3 points like Saturday ground out.
  17. Wouldn’t we all, but let’s get crowds up substantially for a sustained period first and making existing home areas ‘feel’ fuller, before we start spreading those attending thinner over more large areas.
  18. He’s contracted till 2024, with a further 12 month option.
  19. Sounds like Swag has got some master plan in his head of replicating the Blackburn End behind the other goal. But considering bundles don’t usually sell well when you can sit anywhere, they certainly won’t when it’s one tier of one stand.
  20. He made a handful of appearances under Hodgson.
  21. It’s a Cat A match by the looks of it (not surprising considering where both teams are). Just the £50 (FIFTY) in the central areas of their side stand. https://www.fulhamfc.com/tickets-and-hospitality/match-tickets/ticket-prices/ Small capacity, well to do fanbase, top of the league. No surprise really, but they are an outlier, West Brom who also expected to be around the top of the league price their tickets around the £20 - £25 mark.
  22. With only about 17k tickets in home areas for a team running away with the league. Supply and demand would be their justification…
  23. Speak for yourself! 😁
  24. As tomphil says. Ewood has been so sedate and so empty for so long, the club seem to be struggling to cope with a sustained increase in numbers (and not that big an increase) and the raucousness that goes with being at the top end of the table…. Christ knows how’d they’d cope in the PL.
  25. This must be the slowest building of a stand in history!
