  1. Will it really, who knew! There's also things called ‘briefings’, ‘leaks’, ‘off the record chats’, ‘backchannels’. But as always Chaddy, you seem to struggle with reading between the lines.
  2. Yeah think Henry Winter may have a bit more of an inside line to the clubs and PL then your good self, Chadster 😁
  3. Excellent, I was worried for a moment…
  4. That’s that then! Definitely no BCD to worry about…
  5. Simple as! Best get the Cabinet told then before the meeting breaks up!
  6. Honestly I really doubt it, I have such little interest in international football it would be a big personality change to suddenly give a shite.
  7. Every chance you won’t be!
  8. Interesting perspective, I don’t have any Scottish family, but I honestly couldn’t imagine caring less if they’d have won at Wembley the other month…
  9. They will be able to ask for more, presumably they are being initially cautious as who knows what the demand will be with everything that’s going on (if we aren’t BCD anyway by then).
  10. Jamie Vardy is of the Ian Wright mould when it comes to a route to the top, not comparable. BB would never have played for England.
  11. The plan was for it to go in the late 90s. See link: https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/18489397.otd-rovers-put-hotel-ewood-expansion-plans-hold/ Events of that period prevented it, and a long decline this past decade has seen it kicked far into the long grass. It obviously isn’t going anywhere, so I’m just taking wistfully about what might have been, but of course it still needs cosmetic work done to to it, but just like the disgrace that is large parts of the rest of the ground, that obviously isn’t going to be forthcoming either.
  12. Your third paragraph was my exact point, so a silly comparison to start with from a poster that has swallowed the kool-aid big time…
  13. So JW/JW couldn’t have handled this situation any better than SW? Come off it.
  14. Comparing this set up to what Jack and JW presided over 🤦‍♂️ Under Jack Walker we’d never have been in a scenario where trying to keep hold of the likes of Darragh Lenihan would be an almighty challenge!
  15. No way, a top Championship performer now, and may well carve out a decent PL career, but not a chance he’d be close to the present England set up.
  16. Oh I like that offer, covering both bases… But of course, we tried neither!
  17. Strictly ain’t my scene, but amazes me that that whenever I catch a bit, Tess Daly is still there, absolute charisma void… though it still cleans up on the ratings, so what do I know.
  18. Personally I wouldn’t do multi game bundles either, not because I’m anti-offers, I’m pro anything to fill empty seats, but they have been repeatedly proven not to work here. Usually struggle to sell even a few hundred of them. As the walk-on presumably doesn’t want to commit to a few games, especially if midweek fixtures are involved. For me, it would’ve been a £15 anywhere in the ground offer for Hudds and try to pack the place (all moot now, of course, for more ways than one).
  19. Does it contain memories? Of course. But the 1990 re-build (that’s 1990, not 1890), is a cheap ramshackle eyesore thrown up to sort out what was now an open terrace, it is a poor piece of infrastructure compared to what it replaced, and always was. THAT earlier version of the stand had tradition and was ‘rustic’. This version is only three or so years older than the rest of the ground, so what ‘heritage’? Jack himself hated it - if it wasn’t for the unfortunate events of the ‘99 relegation followed by Jack’s tragic death soon after, it would’ve long been pulled down by now…
  20. No arguments there. The buzz in the Blackburn End is like going back twenty years,
  21. As you all definitely know, I have plenty of views on all things attendances. But you really can’t use yesterday as a barometer of anything with everything that’s gone on over the past week.
  22. How did I know who this thread starter would be?! England? I get someone like the original poster, he’s long stopped being particularly interested in Rovers. I get those that would say ‘Rovers’ if you pushed them to say who they support, but generally only watch football every couple of years for international tournaments. But for those that have stuck by it over this horrendous decade, get to Ewood etc, I just couldn’t fathom choosing an England team full of players you’ve no particular connection to, that hardly anybody bats an eyelid at outside said tournament, to the club you pour your heart and soul into week after week, year after year, who you often have family and local ties with going back generations etc etc … but each to their own.
  23. Deserves a statute for coming second in the third division! ‘Kin ell! 😁 As a reminder this is a club with no statue of Lewis, Crompton, Briggs, Clayton, Douglas, Lee, Kendall, Faz, Garner, Dalglish, Parkes, Hendry, Shearer, Tugay, Friedel, Souness etc etc. You almost had a few there that you were actually here to debate and not on the wind up… so close!
  24. I get you are enthusiastic Chaddy, so am I, this season has been an unexpected, but fantastic ride so far. But you need to get real. Just because ‘the EFL have said x, y and z’ on the 16th December means bugger all when things are developing and changing this quickly.
