  1. You reckon? I’m afraid the days of 2010-2013 have long gone (though plenty supported the owners over the protesting fans even then) This forum is very much the minority view, and ‘the club’ knows it will have an easy ride.
  2. They still could by employing quality people throughout the club who could begin to pull the club up by its bootstraps - but as you say I see little appetite in them to do that.
  3. Exactly that J*B, and I’ll add in the state of Ewood Park, the downscaling/closing across the patch and on it goes - but surely the Academy is the one unqualified success we do have? It’s a minor miracle considering how inept the rest of the club is...
  4. I’ve just told you. You seem to be struggling with what ‘leaving a legacy’ actually means. It isn’t just looking wistfully at Jack’s statue and lovingly reminiscing with old photos and videos of the glory days, but taking advantage of the infrastructure he left behind.
  5. It’s not about ‘Jack’s wishes’, or being ‘disrespectful’, it’s not a Worthers Originals advert. It’s about the dismantling of the actual, tangible, quality infrastructure that he left behind, that put this club on a sound footing and has been only to the club’s benefit.
  6. For such a massive change for the club, an ‘exciting’ one, no less. Why was there not a single person named in that statement? Why were the owners not mentioned, considering they are normally thanked for their unstinting commitment and every purchase, from players to grass seed. Where was the Chief Exec, surely the driver and sponsor of such pivotal infrastructure plans? Where was the team manager backing this exciting combining of facilities? Where was the Academy director promoting the links with the first team and how it can only help our Cat 1 status. Nowhere and that speaks volumes...
  7. The way the bottom 6 are picking up results this season it’s going to be a 50/51 survival line, like it was when we dropped. We need 12 points, we probably will pick those up, but I wouldn’t put my house on it with Watford, Reading, Swansea, Brentford and Norwich coming up before the March international break...
  8. I would wager ‘the club’ know all too well when they were actually built...
  9. Don’t give them ideas or we’ll have a Lidl in the Riverside’s place, Burnden Park style...
  10. During the game Kevin Gallagher was saying how TM must use a bingo machine to pick the team and was generally far more scathing than I’ve ever heard him...
  11. The Riverside is a dilapidated shed that was built on the cheap, replacing it would not be an issue for anybody. Brockhall still stands up to or is far superior to most football clubs, especially at this level. There is no sporting reason for this development.
  12. They were often training down on Pleckgate playing fields in 1994. Indeed me and my dad used to watch and on one pre-season session he thought this new ginger lad was Perry Groves... it was Robbie Slater.
  13. ‘Legacy’ isn’t just reminiscing about the good old days. It’s the tangible facilities, that they are now flogging off for housing. If you choose to believe we’ll have facilities that will be 2021 industry leading, good for you, but I don’t. Yes, if locals flogged half of Brockhall off, I’d still be furious. Just as I am more upset with the Walker family than anyone that’s come along since.
  14. Of course, but unfortunately I doubt we’ll hear of Coventry again once it’s denied at the presser. I may be wrong, but I see our local press as football reporters not investigative journalists, and the impoverished outlets they work for will not want to rock the boat with key stakeholders like the local football club - key drivers of sales/site traffic.
  15. And they’ll flat bat it away, obviously. I’d prefer real journalism that publishes the investigated story and then gives those involved the right to reply.
  16. If it wasn’t for Jack we wouldn’t have Brockhall, at all. Or the fantastic facilities at Ewood Park, or a Cat 1 Academy. ’Don’t buy this legacy stuff’. I mean, honestly.
  17. Not suggesting a financial gain in the slightest. However, you have a professional relationship with the club and are the only person on the whole board with anything positive to say. So I think your judgment is clouded and I discount it on that basis, sorry.
  18. No problem with you being a sponsor, indeed local businesses being involved with the club and forging relationships with the hierarchy is how it should be. But no, I don’t think you are an objective observer, sorry.
  19. Bournemouth aren’t the first and won’t be the last club to throw away the vital early period after relegation with a succession of bad decisions.
  20. Because most fans won’t have a clue about Coventry and our local media will be too craven to even investigate, never mind expose it, I’d wager...
  21. It’s because we’ve been in League 1, ‘TM is a Moral Man’ and has brought the famed Stability, players keep coming and *Bolton*. The owners are now beyond reproach with many as there’s still a club in existence down Ewood Park, 2010-2013 may as well be 1910-1913... (Indeed, if there is anybody that’s a threat to BRFC it’s ‘negative’ fans like me and thee.
  22. It comes down to the fact that most fans don’t really understand the business/infrastructure side of the sport. As long as players keep arriving and the club keeps going, they are happy enough. They don’t see how such enormous decisions could lead to potential Cat 1 issues down the line, or the reduction in the club’s reputation and who we can attract as we reduce the quality of our infrastructure. Couple this with riverside drip’s very perceptive post yesterday re critical thinking, that actual comprehension and reading between the lines seems to have completely vanished for large swathes of the population. I would bundle that in with this present day obsession that a lot of folk have with avoiding ‘negativity’. Social media will be ‘the club’s’ greatest ally through this swindle.
  23. Ooo la la Stevo. Is it ‘supper’ in your house instead of tea?
