  1. Who’s called who a name? ‘Thin skin?’ ‘Trump’ I don’t rise to the personal stuff you like stirring up with posters like blueboy, so don’t bother. Good, I’m glad you think that it was a flawed policy, and thankfully Waggott/Mowbray/owners or a combination do too.
  2. Hilton was brought in for the U23s, so has no relevance for this discussion. Rodwell was brought in on a short term deal. Just like you I have no connections and never said I did. It’s an online forum and IN MY OPINION, I’m glad we are SEEMINGLY moving away from predominantly signing young English players. Poor value for money and extremely risky in terms of return in investment and as a club you chase your tail, never progressing, as you wait for said players to develop, your top players move on and you are back to square one. Only ever want the best for my beloved Blackburn Rovers, so frankly I’m not particularly arsed if a fella called ‘Biz’ on an obscure forum for football nerds think that makes me ‘arrogant’.
  3. Where’s the conspiracy? Dysfunctional club still dysfunctional is the crux of it.
  4. We hope they become ‘first team ready, top level Championship players’ one day, so ‘spending £10 million’ doesn’t equate to it not being a slow build as your post suggested at all. Just that young English players cost a premium in the market. As I’ve said, glad they’ve moved away from ‘plan A’, many of us knew it was a daft plan to start with.
  5. The club is obviously burnt by the twitter storm last night. ’Liking’ the Tweet from the leader of a group that used to be a thorn in the club's side and I thought existed to rail against this stuff. All very Animal Farm.
  6. Because they are developing players, fairly obvious no?
  7. Leeds and Sheff Wed have very well established membership schemes, so yes away fans are charged £40, but their fans, as ‘members’ pay nothing like it. 1875 is sill an unknown to many of our fans.
  8. Biz. I’m not sure what you are even carrying this on for. I’ve told you that I’m glad the club is now thinking of the ‘here and now’. But the policy of signing predominantly young English talent has obviously been changed, if that’s ‘bungled’ or not, time will tell. A stupid policy to start with, for me. But it’s about time, and hopefully this is the last we will be hearing of the nonsense ‘slow build’.
  9. Yes it is. Because we needed a Johnson last season. However, the £7million for BB would not have been available for a couple of established, older Championship players. As that was not the ‘model’ all that time ago. 6 months later it’s ‘here and now’. Which is fine with me, as this club cannot ‘slow build’ in this league, but let’s not pretend we are operating like a club with a coherent plan.
  10. You can’t have one summer/winter where you ONLY bring in English lads under 24 and then another where a load of 33+ are signed. ‘Future, trading model’ to ‘here and now’ in one transfer window. Its muddled, panicked thinking. I was not a fan of the purely young model, as these ‘slow builds’ don’t work in this league, so I was delighted with Johnson coming in, but the club is not operating rationally as this window is proving.
  11. Waggott still hasn’t got to grips with the Rovers fanbase or the area we operate in. This isn’t Coventry, 9th biggest city in the country and support across Warwickshire. They are a poor side, but a few decent results and the fans flood in. That trick doesn’t work here. Famous old name, 31000 seats, must mean a big floating fanbase ready to fill the place up? No. At £400 in the JW (£30 on a match day) for bottom half Championship football, he’s in cloud cuckoo land. Williams got it, this fella hasn’t. I would say, twenty years on from JW becoming Chief Exec, with a decade of tripe on the pitch and rapid demographic change in the town itself, that has led to more and more of our fanbase residing a decent distance from Ewood, Waggott’s job of maintaining and increasing bums on seats is much harder, but he’s making a right pig’s ear of it.
  12. Course he has, but ‘worst keeper I’ve ever seen’ ?!? Fettis, Jake Kean, Steele, Leutwiler, to name but 4...
  13. So the model of ‘young, English talent ‘ has been thrown out after a season to be replaced by bringing in players in their mid 30s? Says to me the club has no strategic thinking at all, we are a million miles away from a Brentford. And/or the club has been badly burned by the Brereton signing...
  14. The ‘Big 6’ is a waste of time. We struggle to sell a 100 of them. By that time if you want to commit to multiple matches you already will have done, with either a full or half ST. A better idea is to target a couple of matches in the run in with £10/15 tickets anywhere in the ground.
  15. Don’t fancy Hart myself, lost whatever he had. But the fella was England number 1 for years, record number of Golden Gloves and a multiple title winner. ‘One of the worst keepers ever’, ‘worst keeper I’VE EVER SEEN’, ‘worse than Fettis’ Come off it!
  16. Only works if most walk on fans are members of or are planning to join 1875. I would wager that plenty aren’t and will take one look at those prices when Leeds and Sheff Wed come to town and just don’t bother.
  17. We won’t end up behind... only 1500 to go to reach last season’s sales, supposedly
  18. Then shouldn’t they have announced the match day prices at the same time as STs? Highlighting the big savings, instead of with three and a half weeks to KO? Possibly a panic announcement as ST sales are down...
  19. 7,200 sold in mid July. Do we usually sell 3,000 STs post claim your seat deadline in the final few weeks? I’d say no we don’t, so Waggott is going to miss his target... again. Though we NEVER sell 10,000 anyway, do we Steve?
  20. I imagine for those two Cat A+ games there will be a bigger discount than normal for 1875 members to offset. Therefore the club needs to do a better job of signing walk up fans up to it or there will be a lot of angry folk around the time of those games.
  21. Interesting approach to match day tickets. Slight increase to Category A and B (£1 more generally) But, Category C has been removed, replaced by a Category A+ just for Leeds and... Sheff Wed. £40 behind the goals, £45 Jack Walker upper!!! I can only presume this is payback for big prices at their ground, as Sheff Wed rarely bring more than 1500/2000, so it won’t be a massive earner like say if Preston was A+
  22. Not the way NZ are playing. Their batting has been atrocious last few games, Williamson aside.
  23. Swansea have already had theirs, so imagine their wage bill has plummeted.
  24. On the surface Bennett has it made. New contract Plays every week Popular in dressing room (seemingly) Good relationship with fans. Only reason would be he’s been told he is now down the pecking order...
  25. Supine local press don’t help. Sharpe was informed of the discrepancy and said he would follow it up with him... he didn’t.
