  1. Surprised anyone thinks we should just chuck a keeper in they’ve never seen after the last debacle. I’ll trust the manager’s judgement on this one.
  2. Me neither, I always thought the ‘no nay never’ chant was a bit quaint back then talking about some lower league manager in ‘Jimmy Mullen’. Yes, they were our local rivals, of course they were. But it was a bit like how I imagine, say, Stoke fans think about Port Vale, not really on your radar most of the time. It shows how we’ve fallen that soooooo many of our chants/our discourse now bang on about that lot.
  3. Like Fulham v Arsenal or QPR v West Ham is a ‘derby’.
  4. It’s a European Super League in all but name that enriches the elite clubs at the expense of the sport as a whole. Now if you enjoy watching Bayern v Real Madrid year after year because as uber rich clubs they understandably contain lots of the world’s best players, fair enough, but it’s been a disaster for the game.
  5. He’s a goalkeeper coach… but he’s small seems to be the crux of it.
  6. It is one of the cosiest places to settle in as a player, a manager, even a COO. ‘Ewood Jury’, my arse
  7. ‘Not given him a chance’, what does that even mean? He’s had nothing but support at the games where it matters. Message boards are taking the place of the pub or the chat over the garden fence where folk exchange opinions, if someone on here thinks he’s crap, so be it, why do they need ‘to give him a chance’? However say it was boos at the game, totally different and completely counter productive.
  8. ‘Well the Nations League was about replacing meaningless friendlies’… ok, how about not replacing them to start with? The Mattyblue International Calendar™️ : For the World Cup in 2026: November 2024; qualifiers, March 2025; qualifiers, at the end of the 24/25 domestic season; qualifiers. November 2025; qualifiers, March 2026 WC play offs, summer 2026 warm ups and World Cup. Then start the cycle again in November 2026 for the 2028 Euros and we can all enjoy August to November every season with no interruptions. 👌
  9. I will, unlike others I've no issue with the fella, I've no idea if he's the uber coach of pro goalkeepers or if he should be putting the cones out.
  10. Benson and ‘the data’, well, we’ll see how that goes.
  11. I thought Eustsce wanted all manners of other keepers? Doesn’t sound like a choice of the manager.
  12. Why is Benson choosing players over the manager?
  13. It’s a geography thing, if you are a Rovers fan from south Ribble you are going to care much more about PNE than a Rover from Accy. So yeah I suppose all those Dingles that live in the likes of Keighley will look to Leeds (guess what all their support doesn’t come from ‘a town of 80,000, highest percentage going to games in the universe’ like they try and make out).
  14. On their forum some of them try and make out their West Yorkshire derby with Leeds is up there with us, aye ok 😅
  15. FIVE international windows every year 😴 (the season stopped for two weeks three times between September and November!) when most fans couldn’t give a monkeys outside tournaments Surely there’s a way of amending that?
  16. So three shots on target a piece, 1-1. Yeah great use of stats there, Longers. 😅
  17. ‘Chuck him he can’t be worse than Pears’ I’ve heard a few times… now when have we heard that before?
  18. What’s Rich doing now? Has he left journalism? Reading these pieces reminds you that he was a bloody good Rovers reporter, especially as attracting folk into local media at all is bloody difficult in the modern era.
  19. The big part, no doubt.
  20. …then ‘95 happened and like their Dingle brethren their intense jealousy scrambled their brains beyond repair.
  21. It’s what happens when there’s very few ‘Rovers people’ making decisions at the club.
  22. The magnanimous nature of the two BRFCS resident Dingles shouldn’t mask the fact that if you try and attempt a conversation with one they largely go just like Miller’s description (apart from at Merce’s dinner parties, of course). The 90s completely fried their brains.
  23. Of course it’s what the team needs, but that’s the problem with this club, no strategy whatsoever(well not one that gets stuck to) The ‘model’ has gone and now its a load of experienced pros on one year deals - which is fine by me, by the way, the Championship is a tough old league. But shows how much nonsense we’ve seen at this club.
  24. So like I said he knew him as a top class player, and that means what for managing a second division team (that had just stunk out another one)?
  25. So he knew him as a top class player… which means feck all to managing a bottom half second division team, so that fella is even more daft than starstruck Yanks.
