R.I.P. QUEEN ELIZABETH

I saw that Jack, what a moron. The last time he was relevant was when Kenny tried to sign him from Blackpool, but he went to QPR instead, the rest is history, bit like him really….. -

I often try to kid myself that I could live without football, I hate many aspects about the modern game, the stadiums, the money, foreign ownership and Tv coverage schedules, but when its taken away, even for a weekend, I feel like I have had one of my arms cut off! For me its the right thing to do, although I do side with the argument than The Queen herself wouldn't want all the fuss and certainly wouldn't want sport stopped on her account, that was the mark of the woman and what a superb woman she was. -
https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/news/21250541.darwen-pub-selling-6p-pints-honour-queen/ I wouldn't say I've never had a pint at this time of day but goodness me, 10am on a weekday!! The local public health teams will having kittens. An East Lancashire pub is selling bargain-price pints today (September 9) in tribute to Queen Elizabeth II who died on Thursday. Entwistle Hotel, on Entwistle Street in Darwen, will be selling 6p pints from 10am to 11am today.

It makes me sick to the stomach, anyone who wants to forgive and forget should read the entire article, but at least read this final comment on that excellent piece: A group of clueless Indian poultry farmers running a famous old British football club in this manner unchecked, unregulated and uninterrupted isn’t right and shouldn’t be tolerated.

Brilliant woman, strong woman and a wise woman who gave her entire life to public service. RIP Ma’am. -

Champions League campaign 95/96

My money would have been on Batty. I heard an interview with Sutton recently who said everyone in the dressing room wanted to plant one of Le Saux at this time, he never elaborated as to why. -

I was almost signed up and booked on the trip to Moscow, so glad I never bothered with the players on the ale and Batty vrs Le Saux handbags live on national Tv. Rubbish group for the fans, we had dreams of Barcelona, Madrid and Milan…… -

Stop being silly and get yourself down there 😉 -
Codswallop. For all the reasons already stated over the past few pages.

I'll take you word for it 👍

Angry.

Bingo.

I think you've both missed the point, or maybe I never made it very well. It wasn't so much a point about the numbers, it was a point about the pride and passion, Steve Gibson run club, local owner, poor town, all pulling in the right direction. We had it once, we can have it again if these swines sod off.
-
Over 30,000 at Boro last night, the place was bouncing before kick off, everything that Ewood is missing sadly. Give the fans something to get behind, local pride, local passion and that last night would be the result, or at least someway to it.

Lucky…..😂

When I think of Wigan away I think of that Steven Reid thunderbolt from 25yrds, brilliant strike. Wigan beat Luton and Birmingham away last week, after getting hammered by the dingles. Best we can hope for on recent form is a draw in my opinion. 1-1 -
Not something you come across on matchdays in my experience M_B, mostly confined to social media (The land of make believe). I feel a song coming on.....

Rovers are losing local fans because those parasite chicken farmers have destroyed the football club, no other reason and living in Yorkshire will never change that fact. We still have a large fanbase across Lancashire, with every post you make you seem to extending the radius, which is the correct thing to do, you're learning. If you put this football club back in Premiership next season we'd be back to 17k home fans midweek and 20k a weekends, like we've always had. Gates are up this season by the way, maybe you'll have to read the 2021 census to understand why, but I can tell you now, its the existing fanbase with some renewed hope, nothing to do with fans moving in or out of the area. I’m unsure what your motives are with this series of posts, I get the feeling something else is grinding your gears?

With the greatest of respect this just isn’t true, where are you getting this stuff from? We've never had a strong Asian following and never will have, but been in business since 1875. We had regular gates of 5000 in 80’s, football didn’t start in 1992. We have a healthy fan base that would increase with success on the pitch and our support doesn’t only come from Mill Hill and Darwen. Where are you getting this nonsense from?
-
Was it Mowbray that said some fans still think it’s 1995? We have one poster expecting an ‘Eddie Howe Newcastle bounce’ which only happened after spending tens of millions and that codswallop above…..
-
Nonsense. Newcastle hardly won a game until they opened the cheque book and got knocked out of the FA Cup by Cambridge when Howe joined the club. JDT needs time, he’s not a miracle worker.
