I wouldn't pretend to know if Sunderland had a decent enough squad, scraping up through the playoffs tells its own story. But I do wish we'd had the new manager bounce at Reading, instead of the new manager hammering we received.

Sunderland 2 up.

Rangers fans tonight, just superb. The club are also going to defy UEFA and sing the national anthem. -

I spoke to a local group leader earlier today who runs a drug rehabilitation service. The service won The Queens Award a few years ago which helped them immensely. The group are all going down to London for the funeral, not a Royalist amongst them, but all of them so grateful for the recognition and support they received. -

What was that bit of outrageous skill that Hedges did last night next to The Riverside, Ronaldinho would have been proud. -
I'll give that a listen @John D never heard it before.

You can only beat whats put in front of you RV, but yes, Watford were abysmal, they didn't have one shot in the first half that I can remember and weren't much better in the second. I can't add much more than what has already been said to be honest, it was an all round excellent performance with Dolan showing why he's going to a player and Riverside boo boy Pickering also shutting a few up in the process too. Rob Edwards probably wishes he was back of Forest Green right now, the Championship is a whole different ball games. Onwards and upwards. Ps - Our kit looks superb this season, it looks pretty damn good every season but this season in particular. -

Yes spot on. I was on the away end that night, we cleared one off the line in extra time and managed to hang on, I can't decide if that was a good thing or a bad thing considering the final outcome...... -

Well this puts my drive over The Pennines into some perspective! I really hope the lads put on a show for you @mick and we get a result against a very good Watford side. -

1989 - Playoff semi-final 2nd leg away Watford - Apprehensive doesn't do it justice, terrified does. -
Superb summer for English cricket winning 6 from 7 tests since Stokes and McCullum came in, a far cry from 1 win in 17 under the previous regime, that is some turnaround. It was refreshing that both sides came into this game looking for a win and set about doing just that on Saturday, some superb bowling on show, real skill and great to see Crawley hitting the winning runs today. Off to Pakistan next for 7 T20's, world cup to follow, then the tests against Pakistan coming in early December. Plenty still to look forward to in 2022.

Transfer Window - COMPLETE. Where’s Gregg?

@glen9mullan Or @unleaded did you mention a striker we bid for in January 22? -

You do understand that player deals are unique to each club negotiating. Bordeaux wanted money from us for Maja, but as the clock ticked down let Maja go to Stoke for nothing, to remove the wage overhead? Khedra came here last season for no loan fee only wages, Sheff Utd have paid a loan fee to secure his services this season. -

I wonder why he bid for one then? Just thought I’d make that point, as you were adamant he didn’t. -

Whilst you’re discussing strikers and the month of January on the wider point. Didn’t you tell me Mowbray never tried to sign a striker in January islander? -

Didn’t work out to well against Sheff Utd Danny, it’s been many a year since I’ve seen a Rovers side so comprehensively beaten and I include the Fulham game in that. -

I have tickets to see The Who later this year, never seen them live, but a more iconic British band you'll struggle to find.

I saw that Jack, what a moron. The last time he was relevant was when Kenny tried to sign him from Blackpool, but he went to QPR instead, the rest is history, bit like him really….. -

I often try to kid myself that I could live without football, I hate many aspects about the modern game, the stadiums, the money, foreign ownership and Tv coverage schedules, but when its taken away, even for a weekend, I feel like I have had one of my arms cut off! For me its the right thing to do, although I do side with the argument than The Queen herself wouldn't want all the fuss and certainly wouldn't want sport stopped on her account, that was the mark of the woman and what a superb woman she was. -
https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/news/21250541.darwen-pub-selling-6p-pints-honour-queen/ I wouldn't say I've never had a pint at this time of day but goodness me, 10am on a weekday!! The local public health teams will having kittens. An East Lancashire pub is selling bargain-price pints today (September 9) in tribute to Queen Elizabeth II who died on Thursday. Entwistle Hotel, on Entwistle Street in Darwen, will be selling 6p pints from 10am to 11am today.
