  1. Those comments sound to me like a CEO looking to save his skin.
  2. Not really 1864, even a manager in current employment would have been 'tapped up' by the agents, thats how football works.
  3. These owners have known for months Mowbray wouldn’t be staying, any normal club with a plan would have had a manager sounded out, if not in place before the season ended.
  4. As always money talks in the Championship, the biggest wage budget, the biggest transfers budget and Premiership here they come. It’s not rocket science.
  5. One club has spent over £20m on players in the last 3 seasons, one club has spent around £10m (That was on 1 player). Lets see who wins.
  6. Why do you think they’ve always taken the cheapest route possible, if this is remotely true?
  7. What a weekend for Huddersfield, the place has been absolutely buzzing with The Giants making the challenge cup final and the football team at Wembley today. Talk about a town punching above it’s weight.
  8. Robbie Slater on the celebrations after the Premiership win at Anfield 😀
  9. You never mentioned how the Hasselbaink interview went? How did that interview go? Its a Genuine question, a legitimate question based on your claims earlier this week? You posted he was interviewed?
  10. Liverpool fans and the city were appallingly treated over Hillsborough, I'm glad those poor families finally got to the truth. I would just add that older supporters remember Heysal 85 where hundreds of Liverpool fans attacked Juventus fans which sadly led to 39 deaths. I remember that disaster being blamed on Chelsea fans and English hooligan groups in general, not Liverpool, which was a disgrace, perpetrated by English gutter press. Not everything is about Hillsborough.
  11. I'm not sure about that Mark, if they appoint another dud this time around I'll be considering not going, because in my opinion its orchestrated decline if they do.
  12. I read that and at first glance thought Barry Venison was now in the running.
  13. Just for the record, it was Bbrover2288 that broke the Ferguson story, just sayin.
  14. People are weighing up the facts as we have them Mike, several sources from the Liverpool camp themselves are blaming fake tickets, we've seen footage of storming the gates and climbing the fences. As for the Hillsborough point, I'm not reading that on these pages at all, nobody from what I can see is saying that.
  15. You'll get no arguments from me on that J*B. Marseilles France 98 - England v Tunisia was like a war zone down by the port, the police had every right to kick off to be honest, but I've seen many occasions where police across Europe are smashing people for the sake of it, only happens at football in my experience. I read today about fans lighting flares and taking coke should be jailed, it was like a 3 days in Medellin back then, open drug taking everywhere, baseball bats, bike chains, cs gas, knives, but we digress, thankfully things have improved massively since back then.
  16. Goodness me chaddy you've missed some great games this season. Real Madrid deserved to win this seasons competition, beating City, Chelsea, PSG and Liverpool along the way. they're not the greatest side in the world right now, but they win games.
  17. If they replace Tony Mowbray with Drunken Duncan Ferguson I'll probably not be going next season, I think its rubbish anyway, I doubt he's in the running myself, but if he is, they've learnt nothing over the past 11yrs, another coach with no managerial experience to speak of, cheap and cheerful. If they've interviewed Wagner and Carvalhal its pick one from 2, but the wages, backroom team and transfer budget is probably out of our reach, which they'll know now hence the new candidate pool. The longer this goes on the more likely a Coyle type figure will emerge, as the bastards are trying to appoint on the cheap, again. Venkys out.
  18. I don't know many of the details, I'm only reading this mornings press, but it seems the great Liverpool cover up is in full swing. Liverpools own players and ex-players seem to be blaming the police, whilst also claiming thousands of fake tickets were in circulation that could have broken the turnstiles. Lots of footage of Liverpool fans climbing the fences and busting through barriers, nothing new to see here, been going on for decades. I have every sympathy for anyone on the end of pepper spray, its awful stuff and its usually the innocent bystanders that bear the brunt sadly. Thankfully Real Madrid fans had no such trouble by the looks and sounds of things, neither did Rangers fans, over 100,000 in Seville, be interesting to see the bones picked out of this one.
  19. I wouldn’t be so sure, this is Liverpool we’re talking about, media darlings. Jumping the gate isn’t anything new, always happened watching England away and I’ve seen it watching Rovers too.
  20. https://www.cherrytreecricketclub.co.uk/the-lashings-world-xi-are-coming-to-cherry-tree/ Cherry Tree CC are playing Lashings world X1 next week with Blowers commentating, what a coup that is. Devon Malcolm, Chris Lewis and Yasir Arafat will be turning out.
  21. Has he had a better offer? 🤣😉 https://www.barrowafc.com/news/2022/may/120522-barrow-afc-end-contract-talks-with-phil-brown-over-vacant-first-team-manager-position/ However, negotiations over him taking the role on a full-time basis have proved unsuccessful and the Club will now move in a different direction. “I would like to place on record my thanks to Phil and to Neil McDonald for their efforts since coming into the Club,” commented Chairman, Paul Hornby.
