[Archived] Should Dunny Have Come Home?
Blueboy Downunder replied to blinddevotion's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
jal...what is wrong with the centre halfs that we already have? i was wondering where zurab was today, but i think he is suspended? probably wrong though. maybe one midfielder we could sign in the summer. -

The best display by a rovers team for a long time....superb. which goes to say that there is simply no justice in football if we can play so well and get (Please don't use that word again) all from a game. there was nobody who played badly today as every single rovers player contributed towards a very very good team performance. individual players certainly made mistakes, none more glaring than their 3rd goal when lucas allowed mido to waltz right past him to the back post and put it away, but on the whole we were brilliant today. one thing though and it is starting to become a very big issue for me. their first goal was absolute class from keano but from the different camera angles shoulds never have been allowed to happen cause it certainly looked like ryan did not touch the ball for the throw in. secondly, their 2nd goal was just plain awful, kean again and a blatant hand ball infront of the ref that was not blown up puts us two down. I have no problem with refs making mistakes that don't have a telling impact on the game as a whole but glaring mistakes by the officials have us two down. Jan, please tell me how to play football...cause unlike brett, i have no doubt that you know -

[Archived] Club Up For Sale?
Blueboy Downunder replied to Florida Rover's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
inn an ideal world we all would love the walker family to be fans of the club and not because uncle jack says they have to keep us going. for me i do not want to see the club sold but should it be sold to a person who is a football fan and/or a rovers fan in particular then that would be no problem. roman is not a chlesea fan...don't want the same thing to happen to us. -
for me it is about potential, and having enough to getr top four never mind top 6. the way we have played this season i have an air of confidence about us pushing for top 4...come on lads!

what fails to get recognised is the fact that we have for some time now....been playing some very good football, and we are mixing it with the best this country has to offer! excellent lads....EXCELLENT!! -

just over 22,000 was extremely ###### poor and dissapointing again. a team vying for a spot in the top 5, playing at home and against an arsenal team that have 1 foot in the champs league semi finals. will the gate thing change next season if we have a good end to this one and make a european spot?? only time will tell. -

a comfortable win for us today. not at any stage did i think we was in any kinda trouble against them. i fortunate goal and a good header along with a totally untroubled evening for brad. a week and a bit off now, so a break in dubai would be nice for the boys. hopefully coming back refreshed and making a push for the top six. -
[Archived] New Shirts Poll
Blueboy Downunder replied to Quack's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
i have just watched the interview on rovers world, about the new sponsorship deal - and i hope i am wrong but if that is the shirt that the team will be wearing from next season, then i have to say that it is plain dreadful...and why the (Please don't use that word again) are they going back to a design that has the badge in the middle of the chest! awful@!! -

home 3 and away 3 for me. although the majority of us would still love to have back, the away shirt from 94/95. the other shirts in those 3 look horrid. -

My sentiments exactly mate...LOL an interesting article indeed and a good one to read. the part about the difference in how much newcastle have spent in the same time that sparky has been our manager - speaks for itself. a good manager backed by a board and trustees that are not gonna throw money at the manager in the hope that it pays off....unlike freddy shepard!! -

Blueboy Downunder replied to Gav's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
i am certainly hoping it is a case of a tax and not a true reflection of the actual attendance. was the top tier of darwen end being used? the riverside looked pretty full along with blackburn end bottom tier, so that only leaves bbe top tier and jack walker stand. just on the attendances though - for a long time fans have been crying for some good footy at ewood park and some consistency aswell. now since the start of the season, we have scored some awesome goals, none more so than reidy's effort on saturday. we are also playing some good, attractive and attacking football with the solidity in defence to match. i appreicate it takes time to get people back on board but surely some people should start thinking about going again! -

poor lad - miss roversmum, you might have just turned him into a gay icon. in saying that i aint bothered if i see him half naked every week, as long as he continues to score goals and helps us win. -

Blueboy Downunder replied to Neil Weaver's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
a very good first half performance, we passed very well, moved off the ball very well and scored a couple of nice goals. in the end and to be fair, portsmouth where better than us in 2nd half and we ended up stuttering over the line to get the points, but i aint too bothered about that. we have had a great xmas period. the team are playing excellent football and scoring some great goals, as we have done all season. well done lads! -

just watched the highlights tonight of the weekends game at wigan. 3 good goals and one in particular a thunderbolt....i frightend my dog half to death when he hit that one, what a goal that was. no keep in world football would have stopped one. i don't advocate racism either but lets not forget folks...."IT GOES BOTH WAYS" -

extremely good result for the boys today. i thought nit would be tougher but not to disrespect wigan i thought (by sounds of it) we were by a long way the better side. please follow this up on monday rovers!! -
[Archived] Tugay - Who Next?
Blueboy Downunder replied to RovertheHill's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
if tuges thinks his body can cope with another premisership season then i hope he does sign another contract. but when he goes, it is something that all rovers fans will be praying for - a suitable replacement. -

Blueboy Downunder replied to Neil Weaver's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
hells bells....that means i am gonna have to be out of bed with a coffee at 6.20am instead of 6.30am!! this is a game that we really should be able to control from beginning to end, thus doing enough to earn the 3 points! i will be extremely dissapointed if we can't win this game. -

Blueboy Downunder replied to den's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
i am happy that it was called off. cause i had to be up extrememly early this morning for a train up to melbourne and meant me missing the entire match on radio rovers. there are many factors why people arrive at the games early, which not everybody knows or understands why....but that doesn't make somebody an idiot!! just an opinion. -
[Archived] Brett Emerton
Blueboy Downunder replied to nonaynevernomore's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
not only that brfc - but lets not forget that tommo has been out injured more times than he has been fit in the last two seasons. before offering the guy a new contract we need to see if he can get some kind of good football back together and stay injury free. -
[Archived] Brett Emerton
Blueboy Downunder replied to nonaynevernomore's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
i hope emo signs another contract with us. the way he has played recently makes it perfectly obvious that he is an impact player. we keep it tight across the middle and control the game, then if we have played well enough to earn a lead in the game, bring the guy on and allow him the space and freedom to run all over the park and stretch that tired defence and/or midfield. the substitution of bellamy yesterday was a masterstroke and timed to perfection. his brains and quickness totally stretched their back 4 at a point in the game when they were starting to come back at us. i would start tommo on the right instead of brett and keep him on the bench....cause tommo aint gonna be able to out pace any of the opposition. -

Blueboy Downunder replied to den's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
well unlike some folks on here who are just waiting for the boys to slip up against lower opposition i have confidence that we can take the 3 points. in saying that we MUST NOT take them lightly and hopefully put in a very workman like performance. not bothered what the score is as long as we win, but i'll go for 3-0 rovers!!
