I think it's more about momentum and form. Teams on the up tend to get promoted. In Stanley's case, dropping down into the play-offs from third might be the psychological issue. Reading in the paper at the weekend, Coleman said he was literally gutted and would take a while to get over - even if they were promoted. In my view they've bottled it and missed their chance. It'd be good to be wrong as its good for the area to have successful teams and League Two is always precarious. One bad season away from a massive uphill slog.

Well, that's probably the best result Stanley could have hoped for at this stage. Up to them to do their bit now.

Unfortunately, the Champions League creates this inequity of three or four teams dominating every league across Europe. They have the funds to attract them and all the top players want to play there. That's why it's so interesting to have Leicester in the mix this year, to break the oligopoly; although it will probably be short lived. It will depend on whether the Leicester own really wants to go for it with the Champions League; whether his team can convince the agents of the players he wants to play there; but, most importantly, whether FFP will allow him. Leicester fans are living the dream at the moment, and I'd much rather their fans had that than the entitled Spurs ones (although I think last week's referee has intervened subjectively and handed Spurs the title, sadly). FFP could well put a stop to those dreams. As far as I'm concerned if an owner wants to cover the costs of taking fans on the rise of a lifetime then, providing it can be guaranteed that it won't be an albatross around the club's neck when he leaves, then he should be able to do it. I'm far more concerned about the kind of ownership that the Glazers are allowed to have, which the rules seem to have be written to specifically allow. -

As great as he was, and for all his skill and pace, it was three minutes into that clip before there was any end product. I just kept thinking of a fast Rochina who would have been hounded out of Ewood! He clearly went on to develop into a world beater but I expect for all the initial excitement he would have frustrated.I also wonder now about the timing of the Messi penalty tribute. You have to to think that they players were aware of Cruyff's condition. Fair play. -
Clueless capitulation? Continuing to fight against 12 men into the dying minutes, resulting in a goal and could easily have forced an equaliser. Hardly a capitulation. Some folk need to go for a lie down. Yes, it's sickening that Bumley just seem to be able to win every game but come on, they've had stability for 5 years and we've had genuine stability for about six months!

Utterly ridiculous...and could ultimately cost Stanley promotion... http://m.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/14324178.VIDEO__Accrington_Stanley_players_furious_as_half_time_whistle_cancels_out_Billy_Kee_goal/ -
Doesn't really do it justice but you are right, it was impressive.

Which was one was the young right winger, bazza? No. 7. And 11. Both of them were very quick.
-
I think we got there a bit too early Andy. There weren't any out when we arrived. I couldn't be bothered going to get one. Crimes, it was cold!

Well that was an enjoyable detour from the usual fare at Ewood. A very accomplished display. Very strong in the centre of midfield and with Hardcastle in attack, and quick on both flanks. Decent goalkeeper. The atithesis of the first team. There will be tougher times ahead but that was great. Bloody freezing mind!
-
1-0 Hardcastle free kick. Just under or just by the wall. Keeper caught out.

At the risk of alerting the three people behind us - is anyone else here? A team sheet would be good.
