  1. I guess now the deadline has passed, contracts have to be addressed
  2. and Downing can't? Also not as injury prone as JRC. Personally I wouldnt sign Downing but Im looking at reasons why Mowbray wants to
  3. Yes but from the bench he gives you full back cover for left and right where Bell only gives cover at left back. He also can give experience in midfield defensively that Buckley and Rothwell dont. As a sub he gives options that present squad may take two or three players to cover defensively so allowing more attacking options from the bench.
  4. He'll make the bench as we haven't got much cover who could fill in at full back other than Bell or JRC. JRC could gave you cover but little experience
  5. The only two places I can see for Downing are a. Is left back cover b. Coming off the bench as midfield cover late in games as the old head. Johnson will pick up bookings so in some games it maybe necessary to take him off and we may need a wily old campaigner to help close out a game.
  6. If Charlie had left shortly after promotion he would remembered as a legend but the way the last 18 months has been managed has tarnished it. Hopefully for Fleetwood fans will see Mulgrew lead them to success and he is not there for one last payday like Murphy was here.
  7. Just a touched worried that we are getting carried away until tomorrow's team is announced when Evans is the midfielder, Bell is at left back and Sam Gallagher is on the wing.
  8. We knew Douglas was considered. Old news.......and nothing new. Nixon only stating what was on here a couple of weeks ago
  9. He destroyed Hendry that game, not many did. IMO Martin O'Neill stiffled Heskey by teaching him to go down when a defender came close. Although he had a good career, I agree he never reached his full potential that he showed in that game.
  10. How can Sky make it look like we scored with 4 lucky breakaways?
  11. On today's performance you can't drop anyone for Dack. Can Dack play left back?
  12. Who excelled at the level above which he bought for? Dack or Whiteman? Neither had played nevermind excelled in Championship so if you cant grasp there is ALWAYS a link about money and expectations and risk then Im sorry.
  13. Sorry for being so thick. Can you explain in basic English what you are trying to say please? It is posters like you why so many have left here. Cant discuss just revert to insults and put downs.
  14. If I was taking this summer as a one off I'd agree but there does seem to be a trend following each window of frustration
  15. or get the player to back his own talent by increasing pay for targets acheived
  16. Course it has. If the league one player has never played above that level then it is a gamble. I know any signing is a gamble but risking your whole budget on a player never to have played at your level is just too high a gamble especially when we need to cover over positions as well. For those quoting Dack, Dack was signed to play at the level he had excelled not at the level above.
  17. But it isn't is it? Paying £250,000 for a player is not as much of a gamble as paying £2,000,000. If we have a set budget then blowing the lot on one player from a League 1 is a massive gamble especially with the number of players we have in midfield.
  18. Agree totally and with the wages he is on at Rovers, it is killing any chance on a Championship team taking a gamble. If the wages were lower and no fee involved then I could see a club taking a punt.
  19. The only way Id touch Cunningham is he was available on a free on a maximum of a twelve month contract. Never the quickest and not going to be any faster after such a serious injury
  20. With Mulgrew's twitter post about loyalty the other week maybe we are seeking a fee or just refusing to pay him up. Also think Rovers must have still supplementing his wage if he was going to Fleetwood. He has no pace either which would mean a gamble for a championship club to pay the wages he is on at Rovers.
  21. Suspect wages are the issue. Enough to scare off everyone unless we pay a huge slice of wages
  22. The return of Nyambe the Scape Goat. I said during pre-season he was the scape goat as was Raya. He was in trouble as soon as he set a goal up last weekend. Full backs doing that is not the Mowbray way,
  23. Too late in the day to get a scarf from the club shop or the person who prints the name on the back of the shirt gone home for the weekend
