  1. Yes---all three! Who'd have thought?
  2. You must admit though that his new strike force of Ayala and Lenihan brought home the bacon!!! Genius!
  3. He did look good coming forward though but there was usually no end product. I don't understand how a professional player couldn't cross a ball, we were all doing that as kids weren't we?
  4. Sean Lock died aged 58.
  5. If Bell morphs into a good defender at Luton that will say an enormous amount about things at Ewood.
  6. I thought it was Mr Plod?
  7. We started well last season remember. We will get the inevitable slump at some point in the season. Points now are like gold to us.
  8. You're avoiding discussion of where he's being played. That's why your post is pertinent to mine. Shouldn't be upfront in the middle should he?
  9. Eh? He shouldn't be should he? I don't get your point at all. He was playing against two huge centre-backs and that's a reason to scapegoat him?
  10. If Philips is that good how much of him will we actually see? I was excited about Phil Jones but he was off before his career had really started.
  11. He will ruin Dolan. He'll knock the enthusiasm out of him. He should not be a central striker. The solution is obvious to me---put him on the wing or play him behind a front two (if there is room for him) and play Gallagher in his natural position. He should be "brought on" not depended on.
  12. Did they try to keep him? They knew he was off didn't they?
  13. Some City fans were reported as being astonished when we signed Davenport from them on a permanent deal. I've learned to be cautious about transfer bullshit. When did we last sign a player who his club wanted and tried to keep. Savage?
  14. "Jesus, Mary and the wee donkey"!!
  15. I'd also forgotten how spiteful the site could be in those days. Its unimaginable now that a poster should be written off as a Dingle because he dared to call for the manager's sacking! LT stuff that. (Just replied to my own post!)
  16. Bloody hell, I'd forgotten how spicy that game was!
  17. Interesting to read on that thread posters saying "if we sacked him who would we get who would be better"!! We get that everytime a manager is clearly failing. To those who wrote that then and to those who say that now please remember he did leave and we did get someone better!!
  18. I'll bet Jan hasn't!
  19. Well let's hope you are right and we don't have yet another player taking a wage but unavailable.
  20. Sandlier from City an absolute certainty I'd have thought given his pedigree. Signed by City in 2018 and continually plagued by injury. Loaned to Anderlecht last season and managed 9 games. C'mn Mowbray--- give this lad sanctuary.
  21. Sorry Gav--only just spotted this. My experience was exactly the same as Renrag's and I've spent the last 60-odd years trying to get over the disappointment of it. As a kid, I dreamed of going to Wembley to watch Rovers win the FA Cup just as my Dad had in 1928, a day he often talked about to me. Like Renrag we went by special train---full of enthusiasm and hope, packed with Rovers fans all feeling the same way. We returned like a defeated army, full of dejection, hope crushed. It was a cruel, cruel day, the worst of my life. In that heat we had no chance of surviving with 10 men which we were down to in the first 30 seconds, effectively anyway, with Dougan on one leg. Given that we also lost Whelan to a broken leg and McGrath scored an own goal that was one hell of a first half and I would happily have gone home there and then. I sat high up in the stand, just left of the centre line with Rovers fans packed behind the goals to my left. Had a perfect view of Dobing missing a sitter early on, the only chance I remember we had. Profound effects for the club, thousands who couldn't get a ticket never set foot in Ewood again. Then, as now, the Club was architect of its own disaster.
  22. Mowbray's tenure in a nutshell.
  23. Really interesting read that! So many posters who don't post anymore. Systematic of our decline. PS---Rover 6 was right!!
  24. You were the lucky one!
  25. You're imagining that as others have said! Therefore I'm optimistic about tomorrow but not the season.
