  1. Absolutely, the ref, for once had an unbroken view from a few metres away. She couldn't not give it.
  2. If there are 10 penalties there, then give 'em! Why pick and choose? If someone drags you down in the penalty its a pen full stop. Only way to end these offences.
  3. Absolutely, she was dragged down to the floor by a defender in the penalty box. What else could it be? The issue is that these offences too often aren't punished.
  4. Those bits aren't important, they're the usual bullshit we get every Transfer Window.
  5. There's high fees, reasonable fees, low fees and Rovers fees---in that order!
  6. One of those times when he had too much time to think where he was going to put it.
  7. "probably"---you're just guessing aren't you? Our history of contract problems tells us something different is more likely.
  8. Somehow I don't think Derby will be facing a struggle against relegation this season. They will be significantly bettter than last season. Will we?
  9. The point is I was making was a general point about central defenders around 30 not anybody in particular. I wasn't counting in fact Fans just don't get excited about them. We take them for granted--experienced,reliable and solid---like your favourite overcoat! I think this "discussion" has run its course.
  10. Are you off your rocker? I've only been on the site for a few minutes! For the point I was making, the exact age doesn't matter. I'm saying a 30 years old centre-back signing doesn't create excitement. I could have put 30+ but does it matter? Go away and annoy someone else
  11. If you look carefully I was responding to a post about Baath!
  12. You simply don't get excited about signing a 30 year old centre-back!! Its, as everybody agrees, a solid signing hardly the stuff of wet dreams!
  13. That's because other teams have used loans to boost their chances of promotion while we have no such ambition.
  14. We were the 2nd lowest spenders last season after Rotherham. To say we over-achieved is a big under-statement. As for the wage/turnover issue, we are well clear of difficulty there after sales but hardly any money is ever made available for transfers. As for the Academy, I'm suggesting that while we think its there to provide players for the first team squad, increasingly its looking like its there to earn money to keep the club going. And, of course, while they're here these young players are cheap. As for "we have a lot to be proud of" tell that to the women's team. In truth we have a lot to be ashamed of and so much to be angry about. The club is dying season by season. No better decisions, it's a tale of wasted opportunities which suck the life-blood out of us and will lead to relegation and administration. That's my firm belief. You'll call it negativity, I'll call it realism. And as for Racing Santander and the rest, what about Wrexham or even Bolton and Burnley? No good telling me things could be worse. Venkys have had 15 years and things get worse every season.
  15. What sort of vanilla argument is that? You agree that "Venkys have been horrible owners in a lot of aspects" (interested in how that implies they have been good owners in other aspects---care to share that, I must have missed it?). "It's impossible to say we would be better off with other owners"--- of course it is! You're stating a hypothesis which is incapable of being contradicted! In the real world what's the chances of new owners being better than Venkys? 99.99999% recurring?
  16. Well I read what I wrote but you could be right. Either way its a scandal.
  17. My error. Even more laughable. £22M with add-ons.
  18. So, according to Palace, Adam's value has increased by £70M in one season with them. Yeah right! Another interpretation---he was worth more than £30M. I hope for his sake he doesn't go to Spurs. I would add that I'd glad to see my club receive a big pay-off from any deal but since we will see none of it I can't get excited.
  19. Sorry but if you're trying to cheer us up, that's not very convincing for more reasons than one.
  20. That's a Twiggy team (not much up-front).
  21. No point praising how good some of our younger players are when the Premier Leaguee sharks are always circling. We get excited at the prospect, then they're off.
  22. No, they're not irreplaceable, but you are assuming they will be replaced by 2 players who are better. I don't have the same confidence.
  23. It'll be more than he's been offered at Ewood and that's what counts.
  24. It would make more sense to go to the nearest casino and put £10M on red!
