  1. You actually put the blame on Brereton for this fiasco, you said you were "disappointed" by his performances! Not quite the same is it? No blame attached to Mowbray who is presumably disappointed too! Not his fault though! We would have all wished TM had bought 2 keepers ( or at least bought one and kept one) and a new defence months ago! All the same problems this Board identified then are even more pressing now but we have no money because TM wasted it. But you have full confidence in him, you no longer want him replaced?
  2. Its a long way from what we do! In fact, we waited a year for Bauer to become available and when he did we made no move to sign him!
  3. Sounds like Mowbray to me!
  4. Mowbray makes it sound as if the difficulties encountered in the transfer window are unique to him and Rovers. How does anyone sign anyone Tony?
  5. Excellent email from the Trust today about its plans and the ideas it wants to persuade the Club to adopt. Very encouraging. If we only had similar inventiveness and enthusiasm within the Club.... Too long to post.
  6. By the time he learns "how we play" he'll be 32 anyway.
  7. Only hyperbole left to defend Mowbray. That's a very bad sign.
  8. There's a difference between spending millions and chucking it away.
  9. An ultra-cautious pronouncement! Still down-playing the most disastrous/bewildering signing in my lifetime.
  10. JHRover said: "Even today we have folk strongly against the prospect of a Hughton or McCarthy, proven top managers at this level, yet keen on Johnson who has never managed yet is 'up and coming' and 'one of ours'." I haven't seen that so much as an acceptance that that is the way Venkys are likely to go. They just do not seem to sign well-established managers like Hughton (though I suppose TM is one!). Would Johnno be better than Mowbray? No-one knows but its often got to the point where I, for one, don't feel things could get worse. If that Sheff Wednesday game proves to be a turning point then the speculation will be irrelevant but if this is another false dawn i would prefer to see Johnno given the job rather than than keep banging our heads against the wall. The fact that he is "one of ours'" is a positive surely? He knows the set-up, must have mused on what needs to improve and has a really good knowledge of the squad.
  11. Well so far he's a Rovers,Manure, Bolton and Burnley fan! What's he got against Preston then? Doesn't seem fair!
  12. "11th and relaxed." Righto! Personally I'd be asking what happened to my £12M.
  13. That's right, about time they had a challenge!
  14. I guess that's the sort of video that persuaded TM to sign Brereton! However he does look an impressive young player and surely worth a start? Could well have a decent winger in our own ranks!
  15. Rankin-Costello only got to give a little cameo last Saturday but he wasn't exactly out of his depth was he? It was so refreshing to see a player looking to go forward and find openings rather than playing the crab football we are so used to. Logically his first start is not far away but will that prove to be the case? Will we chase a winger we maybe do not need? Over to you TM!
  16. Reckless and a yellow card was my view too. No intent to cause injury but no brain to avoid it.
  17. They are expanding their reach though. Once it was only Middlesborough-----now we are expanding into Sunderland!
  18. You must have missed the bit about injuries.....
  19. Always liked Stanislaus way back with his time at West Ham, (was it?) We are carrying injuries and have enough oldies as it is as it is so I think its too late with him now.
  20. That Brentford keeper doing OK?
