A deliberate plan to build confidence in the players I was told on here!

We sold Raya who was our player, we had all the close season to find a solid replacement and we've ended up with a keeper on a one year loan who, at the moment at least, is unconvincing. And we have the same back-up as before. Does anything sum up the confusion and inadequacy around the club than that?

I'm the last poster to refer to Johnno but I never said I wanted him. What I, and others, have said is, that if Venkys sack TM they will most likely turn to Johnno as its their preferred route. Whether he would make a success of it or not is unknown which is normal for Venkys. However I would prefer him to get the chance than see the typical hopeless left-field Venky appointment. I won't depress everyone with the list. I'd say that's a common reaction. If Venkys had a good track record with managers the cries for sacking Mowbray would be overwhelming. What prevents revolt is the fear about what idiot would replace him.

What Mowbray is doing is repeating the performance he put in at other clubs and for which they sacked him. Failure to setup the defence was a major part of his demise as he has admitted, made worse by endless tinkering with positions. If a Director of Football was a good one and allowed Mowbray to do what's he's best at( though I'm struggling to define what that might be) it could be a beneficial move. However its more likely we'll see Mowbray struggling on to his inevitable crisis and the sack. What comes next should worry us all but I'd bet on Johnno and hope that will work out.

Its not about 2 games!! 17 points from 19 games as said above. Its about not creating chances (though I disagree we haven't created any). We had 2 clear ones last week but missed them both. That's another problem, neither Brereton nor Gallagher are big scorers, Who's going to get the goals? Its also about a poor defence letting soft goals in and a manager who acknowledges the problem but has never made it a priority.

If that's the plan----its a rotten plan! I think "plan" overstates it though.

Rovers have a policy when players reach 30 as well----we.sign them! Or give them a contract extension.

You seem to be on a crusade to protect TM. I don't know why a failing manager should be immune to criticism. No other manager is, nor anyone, anywhere in a position of responsibility, as far as I'm aware. Further you persist in reminding us it's been "only one game" as if we didn't know that and hadn't factored it into our responses. Time to rate Adarabioyo is in action the but you rate him without seeing him? We all felt optimistic about Palmer this time last year. What we needed was not a teenage loan from City but a tough, experienced pro. In reality 2. Known well before the season that we needed 2 centre-backs and in all that time we couldn't find them!!! No problem with strikers though. All the excuses under the sun. It is as easy as saying "we should've spent the Gally money on a CB". Probably wouldn't have taken all of it anyway. When it comes to defenders our club is utterly amateurish.
