Brereton is competition?!!!
-
You think they could then?
-
words!
-
I was with you up to that point!
-
That is such a good post, reasoned, sensible and moderate. No evidence to support their blind faith, just so want it to be so therefore ignore anything that threatens their view. Farage and Johnson couldn't do it better.
-
Isn't it oil to the fire? Or coal? Can't see how iron would do it.
-
No-one hates Brereton,that's a silly comment.
-
Mischieviously and deliberately quoting me out of context there Biz. There were two examples of players we paid big fees for and had high expectations of IN THE PREMIERSHIP! I simply drew attention to the coincidence that the fees were £7M in all three cases. We had money then, we haven't had a pot to piss in for years and £7M is STILL a lot to pay for us in the Championship right now!
-
How can you say "he will"? You can't tell the future. Its like saying Britain will prosper after Brexit isn't it? Where's the evidence? As for Travis I've been arguing for his regular inclusion for months! He'd have been undroppable long ago if I'd had my way!!
-
What PB has said is that he has his doubts about whether Brereton can make the grade, so you're playing semantics. PB never deals in hyperbole and, coming from him, that's a significant statement. However, we all want him to come good, most fear he won't. The point is that we could have spent this money better couldn't we? We need cover for Graham NOW. Committed to near £7M for a much-needed striker and we still need one! I asked you that question directly and you avoided it as you always do.
-
Oh right, so he's a quite experienced 19 year old? Not just a raw teenager?
-
There is no actual evidence that he will ever "move his stock forward" just as there is any certainty that he'll be a complete flop. However the evidence seems to be in favour of the former rather than the latter wouldn't you think? Pay £7M in the Championship for a 19 year old and TM daren't pick him! Utterly absurd.
-
I never said world-beater! That's just your usual hype when you try to defend the tripe you post. Half-decent would do for me at this stage! How will I be able to judge him on a long sequence of starts/sub appearances when, on what he's shown so far, he won't be making them. How old is Travis by the way? Bit more value there?
-
If he were from our academy, he'd be free! And we wouldn't have had the same expectations! The £7M is relevant, however hard you try to spin it. Are you really saying we couldn't have spent £7M better? Ridiculous.

Why all the angst in every post about the inadequacies of your fellow fans Biz? You usually tell us off when we posit anything you can construe as "conspiracy theory". Yet you cannot accept what the majority have seen with their own eyes--namely that Brereton has shown nothing to suggest he's going to be the striker we all hoped for when we committed £7M. Yes, he's 19---so what? Plenty of 19 year olds are playing regularly for their clubs. Yes, he hasn't had back to back starts---that's because TM knows better than to pick him. The strangest transfer I can ever remember at Rovers and yes, the size of the fee is relevant to that view. We've signed flops before but usually haven't paid much. 2 exceptions and both signed for £7M(!)---Davies and Grabbi! Both way better than this one. Davies should have worked out better and did when he left so I didn't see that buy as extraordinarily bad, it just didn't work out for us. Grabbi---typical Souness spending other people's money without even seeing the player first. Has TM got that same excuse----I have no idea. A huge gamble, just like this one. Your last sentence----you come across as so superior. What a load of crap. Plenty of fans on here were watching Rovers decades before you were born, "modern football support" my arse!
-
Surely you should be trusting TM more------he doesn't believe Brereton can be risked playing games back to back. On the basis of Brereton's performances thus far I trust his judgement on this completely.
-
Let's hope that when he skins his full-back and gets his cross in, we have someone waiting on the other end.
-
I've spoken to one of the cleaners and he says signing Gallagher on loan is a decision above his pay grade.
-
Why would anyone moan if we made the playoffs? What have hypothetical scenarios like that to do with the fact that we didn't strengthen the squad? Aren't you disappointed we didn't at least get cover for Graham? Why not, you're a Rovers supporter aren't you?
-
Well, its been done before----is that not evidence? Would we have got 27000 for the last game of last season without a price cut?
-
I disagree. We haven't got anything like adequate cover for Graham who will not play 90 mins every game and will sometimes need to miss a game. That's if we are serious about the play-offs of course.
-
Had his best scoring time with us. Still, I'd prefer Austin. Definitely need someone up there. Will be decidedly crapped off if we don't get anyone.
-
Wrong thread mate!!!!
-
"petty" sniping? In any case no-one blames Brereton, any criticism is aimed at the pillocks who signed him.
-
we've already got one?
