There are players to consider both at the club and potential signings as well as an anxious fanbase and inevitable journo questions to field. So yet again giving the impression that it isn't a future priority or he even gives a fuck isn't a good vibe at all. His answer at least has to be that's something we'll be discussing in due course or next summer or the like. The answer he did give leads us right to where we are here, asking why it isn't a priority to at least at some point explore the possibility of an extension even if it comes to nothing. Imo Waggot will be happy to downgrade again to someone even rawer and cheaper i don't think for one min he'll present JDT with a contract he'd feel was worthwhile signing.

Think these lot might just have turned a corner now they aren't a bad side at all so another tough game could go either way. Rovers 1 Brum 1 14,373 -
Yes it was a neatly dressed article obviously toeing the club line again but given what has gone on to come to this it won't be the last of it. These things could drag on years if they get into legal wrangles and this money has come in when the club can't generate its own. January then summer it can and no doubt will have to and even if/when this gets sorted it won't be long before something else rears its head. Remember the wise words of the sometimes itk Northern Rover ? 'No matter how good things might seem sometimes at Rovers we are only ever a week or two away from a mad decision under these owners'

Preferences are just that and were around at most grounds pre all seater. The bit that i was referring to was 'I just don't get it' which implies there is something odd about it. Yet football support from its very roots was centred around fans standing at games and being able to move around freely. It was mostly civilised as well before social problems in post war generations began to creep onto the terraces. A lot of us do get it and plenty younger ones can't wait to try it although personally i think things are so sterile now it'll be a minority. Probably not worth ripping out half a stand and spending a fortune converting it to terrace. However those who experienced the BBE terrace or saw the Kops at Anfield or even those at Sheffield and Bradford or the side terrace at Huddersfield and that lot on the dark side will know what it's all about. Lost era though, gone forever.

Sammie might get through it but Trav no chance if he's involved although to be fair iv'e never seen a player so willing to take one for the team. -

Credit where it is due to all concerned and the club for allowing it, great effort and perfect time of year to do it. Brilliant way to start the Christmas Hols and before a big night of Boxing as well ! Bumper crowd guaranteed. Those chirping up all over the place that it should be a sell out in home sections need to calm down though and get a bit more realistic. A 20K gate would be brilliant. -

Except Dack, although he'll be on more wonga than Ennis probably, was only given a year with the option of another year. Quite a sensible way for the Sunderland board to do business even if it was a daft and all to predictable signing by Mowbray. -

1600+ going down so not too shabby considering we aren't tearing any trees up this season. Pity yet another ground with no pay on the day. -
If it's on telly he's trying to lure more over to the camera facing side so he can portray a big home attendance to India, even though it's just the usual hard pressed fans who fork out.

So it's not really like the Szmodics deal because he was fit and ready to go when he arrived. Also he cost decent money and was only given a 3 year contract although i suspect he was on similar money at Posh to what Ennis will have been on at Plymouth. Sammie fits the model you suggest as does Telalovich but Ennis fits the we have no money so desperate punt model. JDT has said as much, he was clearly expecting a player he could use and clearly annoyed at what turned up. The guy even when fit hasn't even been getting cameo's when we need goals. There is little to no chance of ever making money on this lad even if he occasionally plays and scores. On a 4 year contract the odds are always stacked in favour of us being stuck with him if it doesn't work out or having to pay him off. This was not a development signing at all it was an attempt at an oven ready signing on the cheap with no fee.

Wishful thinking and a nice spin on it. Nobody gives an unfit player with a record like his at 24 years old a 4 year contract just so he can take 12 months to prove himself. Or should i say nobody in their right would take that gamble he was a panic signing with a 4 year deal used as lure to get him up here.

4 year contract for a guy with an appearance and injury record which suggests what we've seen - or not seen - since he arrived should be of no surprise. -

Played scored then taken off today for U21s so probably injured again anyway. -
My mate called it a few years ago with him the idea ways always leave him wide left where he did naff all except fall over a lot. Draw play away as the game went on so more space opened up there and gave him opportunity to get on the last man with quick balls down that channel. As you said the main trick was run at him cut inside and shoot, worked plenty times, nearly worked plenty times as well which stretched the opposition. Other than that though not a lot else but he was working under Mowbray and Venus after all. JDT used him just the same except wanted him working harder and tracking back more. I don't know whether that mean he knew BBD couldn't do much else or whether he was just trying to utilize his main assets whilst getting a bit more team work out of him. He certainly didn't improve though and was probably a bit lucky he already had that agreement at Ville.

Stoke - A place you drive past on the M6 and would only ever enter to visit for a football match. Tough venue and it'll be a tough game as always, could go either way but as usual we need to notch first in order to get anything. Stoke 0 Rovers 0 -
It does sum him up to a tee there'll have been very little effort indeed to agree pricing unless it alters before then and they charge 30 quid. Bigger picture though you've got a smaller club up the road who had smaller crowds and away followings, aren't owned by billionaires and aren't spending millions. Yet they can slash season ticket early birds, agree reciprocal pricing instead of looking to fleece away fans and loyal home regulars at every opportunity and are reaping the benefits. Here though the policy is altogether of a more capitalist nature at a club with a massive half empty ground in a town that always struggles to keep up with those around it.
