  1. Gayle was pretty good at them though to be fair and he was a cool cat. Don't think pressure bothered him. It rolled just wide though, can't remember if it hit the post or not. Even if it had gone in it would have been such a Rovers thing to do to lose 0-4 in the next leg !
  2. That's what he's created here though just malaise where winning. losing or drawing it doesn't really matter. He said he was bringing in people like Trybull & Douglas because of their experience in getting to the top end. Hoping it would rub off on others i presume but for most part on the pitch their attitude has looked abysmal. Then we have Downing, chucked another contract when no one else took him on. Complete waste of a wage this season but knowing Mowbray he was just doing him a favour.
  3. He's thrown that one about a few times especially after we came straight back up. After only one season, this is PNE who were in league one for years. The man is a complete fraud he's been finally brutally exposed but looking at his history it really was only a matter of time.
  4. I don't really remember Garner missing pens i don't really remember him taking many at all. Wasn't it Barkers job then Gayle ? Not sure before that but i remember him scoring when it really mattered, he stepped up to take 3 in that infamous Burnley game. Scored all 3 but one was disallowed. He seemed keen enough to take them that day.
  5. He'll go nowhere unless he's shoved there's no fans there to frighten him to death. So he can just avoid certain numbers on his phone and have a quiet night. He's just as brazen as Kean and Coyle from the safety of an empty stadium.
  6. Pasha should be sacked also he's a regular link to appointing crap managers. All from the same agents the he sits back and doing nothing as it goes south. This guy is at the center of the rubbish at Ewood.
  7. I don't, going off some of the stuff he's said over the past 12 months and his demeanor. Working long hours doesn't mean much he's clearly the type who lives and breathes the game. So he watches as much football as possible, nobody makes him and it doesn't make his management any better. Unless he's staying behind at Brockhall every night washing the kits what good is it doing us ? He clearly has trouble walking away from the money and the kudos of it over anything else i reckon. Because he knows full well he won't get another gig or wage like here, that's why he's hanging on. He has no belief in himself or this team that has been obvious a long time. Hence the constant excuses and revolving team sheet/subs.
  8. Yet some still do the honorable thing when they know it isn't working. You'd expect one who self promotes his honesty so much to actually be honest at some point. Besides i'm sure he could get half his remaining salary via some sort of mutual consent.
  9. The trouble is they are inconsistent, one win or a credible draw and it's like the previous few months never happened. They should know by now that's the rule of thumb with Mowbray, the wins or little runs are the exceptions.
  10. Garner always sides with the man in the hotseat then spends the next 90 mins scratching his head at what he's watching.
  11. It wouldn't surprise me if a plan B was pitched to them to raise funds at that time. And Tony just happened to know the right people for that plan but Vs tipped up a few quid and we got back up. Covid however and the Dack sale being scuppered by injury, along with the phone not ringing for Armstrong with enough 00's has firmly put it back in the pipeline.
  12. Non of them will have the bottle or interest to get involved.
  13. Think this another rare one where their style might suit ours a bit better. Rovers 2 Bournemouth 0 Mowbray to be commissioned a new even bigger flag - The Dead Rubber King
  14. To a large number of young fans who haven't really had many heroes Mowbray became one. Now judging by a lot of recent comments the tide has turned but it's all part of their football education. Being let down and realizing you were backing the wrong horse is a steep learning curve. And of course in todays silly SM lead world any staunch criticism is met by a hail of faux offence. They need to wake up and decide do they just want the best for uncle Tony and his bank balance - or do they want a team of winners and a club with serious intentions ?
  15. Thing is with Evans his stats have probably always been good that's why he's remained where he is. He should have been out of Ewood years ago imo but for what he does he's actually quite good at it. Going nowhere football taking no responsibility with the ball is Evans forte in blue & white. The number of times he touches the ball will be high, the tidy little sideways short passes and receiving will be high, interceptions ( picking loose balls ) or roll out from the keeper, high. 3 tackles per game, wins 1.5, average. He is a prime example of how stats can mislead but lame arse managers can justify these players inclusion and contracts.
  16. Yes the number of deadweights we've signed in the last 10 years, i'd like to think a stats based approach would have kept a good few of them from a contract. If it spells the end of ageing mercenaries eeking out last contracts due to old pals acts it can't be a bad thing. They'll just have to drop down the leagues and take big pay cuts like lads who haven't made the grade if they want to carry on.
  17. All this talk of building football clubs and journeys is all about their own project. And that project isn't promotion it's about moulding this club the way they want it. And what is within their capabilities. Yes, they won the lottery when they landed this gig and deliver the bounce back promotion. Venkys like the club to be run like one of their franchises that's what the Kean/Anderson & co regime was all about. Well we have another little cartel in situ now! I think all they need to really cement their position is one big player sale or this land sale money. One big influx of cash to restore the faith and cover for the 12 million they've blown down the pan.
  18. Signing players from data stats might be a safety net against landing yourself with lazy gits. Or players who can't pass 3 yards with either foot, it doesn't though tell you if they'll gel with your others to make a fluid effective team. That's where the scouts eyes and the managers nous comes in and that'll never change.
  19. Dumb the club down into their own little operation carrying their mates and mates players. All whilst bills are paid by the wealthy foreign conglomerate. The further they move away from promotion talk and big spending the easier it is. Nice little set up in the middle of the championship plodding along and keeping people in jobs. Seems the void is being exploited yet again.
  20. McGrath and O'Leary were hard as nails but both could play a bit as well. Perfect defenders for that era. McGrath would've been a worldie had he not had such bad knees and bad habits. Mad really how a small island turned out so many top international center halves for a period.
  21. Think they are trying to strike a balance between keeping him fit and in the shop window versus not risking him too much. Sickening really when he's getting 15 grand a week to play for us but that's how football works. Shithouse industry.
  22. They wave this huge flag of his boat race like he's some sort of Shankly style great leader or figurehead. Then he comes out and hides slumped way up in the seats as far from the touchline he can get without going into the stands. You really couldn't make it up.
  23. If he's saying he's a director but he isn't surely that's a bit naughty.
