  1. I never said it was likely to happen, but it is a starting point. We don't have to win 28 on the bounce. we have to do better than the other teams in the promotion race.
  2. I hope the top two think the same about us.
  3. Who gives a shit what other teams get ?
  4. I thought winning six on the bounce would never happen. Shows how wrong you can be.
  5. Or even better. Don't have any disappointments.
  6. Last time I went to Wigan that is the bar I went in.
  7. But the most important thing is how you do in your own games. I know it is unlikely, but if we win all our games we will be promoted. After that how many points rivals drop, determines how many games we can drop points in.
  8. And long may they all be confused.
  9. To tell you my thoughts, I would stick with the players we have got. Let's make the Rovers such an attractive proposition for the players, that they want to sign.
  10. I would say Phillips is already, as good, if not better than Carter. This is only my opinion, but an incident that effects my opinion happened a couple of matches ago ,for the U23s. The ball came down from a high clearance, Phillips run in as if to knock the ball back where it had come from. What he actually did was lay of a cushioned ball to another of his own team. This may seem a simple act, but to me it showed composure. That is a very important ability to have.
  11. You can suggest that, but it doesn't make it true.
  12. Also a cracking away day, plenty of good pubs within walking distance of Putney bridge underground station.
  13. Or draw, or lose.
  14. Teesside has a population of over 350,000, with just Darlington as a rival for fans.
  15. As you say, it's your "guess".
  16. And my view is that at center-half we would be better off, making do with what we have got, rather than signing anybody else, from anywhere and putting any funds we may have to better use.
  17. We must be very clever to buy someone before the window opens. If (in your opinion) Phillips isn't ready for the first team squad. Why is he training with them ?
  18. You have missed my point. With our financial position, I don't think we can afford to bring in players for positions where we already have players of potential.
  19. No self-pity. Just go out and win.
  20. We already have a youngster in Phillips, who has already shown to be competent and confident at U23 level. I would be more tempted to bring him on rather than risk signing someone-elses youngster.
  21. Anyone who wants to play at our level of football. Would you be put off by a club that would stand by you during a bad spell but expect some loyalty in exchange. And be strong enough to stand by the principal ?
  22. That is a good interview.
  23. The thing is Phillips shows enough class now, to be first team cover. He has shown this at U23 level. He will hopefully in the next three or four seasons become an intrinsic part of our defence.
