  1. Got to remember how Hyam arrived with club and player taking advantage of a striken Coventry. Unlike Travis and Tronstad, he has been offered a contract renewal. He is more likely to move to Watford this week than not.
  2. Don't forget to knock off 30% from transfer fees incoming for agent and player cuts... That gets paid upfront and the fee itself usually is paid in installments with some elements of contingency (add ons)
  3. Wharton doesn't hide. Opposition teams avoid playing near him and Adam has the self-discipline not to leave the centre of the park which is his territory.
  4. The total Legia wage bill is less than 40% that of Rovers so there is probably a lot of scope to pay Morishita a significant wage rise and keep under the club's newly imposed 10k per week maximum. Pasha's attitude towards players is that they are commodities so anything is possible this week.
  5. How did our keeper get a straight red in the 97th minute?
  6. Yes, Cantwell way above the level of every other player on the pitch. Great to see Tronstad back to his usual self too. Having watched a chunk of Hull v Oxford last week, they were actually much better against us and cut out the mistakes and amount of ball give aways - seriously! We were in control from the kick off. Hull had a good two minutes when Toth made three decent saves- one to prevent an og - but otherwise that was a completely dominant Rovers performance. We were relatively clinical in front of goal and as others have said, a 5 goal scoreline wouldn't have flattered us. Liked Tavaeres and Aliboisu while Montgomery and Hentiksson fitted in well when they came on. Gueye needs the offside rule explaining to him because his running was stupid. As for the ref- he was a total homer yet even managed to rankle the Hull fans into singing you are not fit to referee. Two moments not yet been mentioned by other posters- I didn't see it in real time but the camera replays spotted Rovers should have had a first half penalty and then in the 44th minute he twice got into such bad positions not watching the game flow he was hit by Rovers forward passes which were probable goal scoring opportunities. And yes Lungstrom was a red in the 46th minute but not given.
  7. "suitors for Ainsley Pears are less public". Yes I burst out laughing at that line. I will have to remember my chances of competing at the next World Cup are less public...
  8. All 3 results are equal probability. Going to come down to who is set up best and wants it most. Hull have ground out two decent results so far so a big test for Ismael.
  9. Apparently there is a story about Hull having to play the club cat against us because of an injury crisis behind a paywall somewhere...
  10. Not surprised he is more suited to La Liga than the Championship although his tricks are perhaps more likely to result in a career ending tackle cum gbh assault. At least Ramos has retired...
  11. Back to Tugay, Souness has said he took Tugay to Rangers then to Rovers because he rated him as the equivalent of Zico and Alan Ball - players whom in his prime Souness couldn't get close to. And yes I do think Adam has the potential to be an all time great. His shimmies and passes catch the eye but his ball winning tackling stats for Palace last season were so good as to be almost surreal. Bask to the last 15 minutes v Chelsea, Chelsea were so dominant because they were mostly playing it around Adam, not trying to go through his territory....
  12. Always thought Cirino looked a prospect
  13. That would be the ultimate kick in the gut, Adam in a red rat shirt.
  14. Watched chunks of their Oxford game. Hull started fast, Gelhart knows how to attack the near post effectively and McBurnie still knows how to be in the right place at the right time. Other than that these are a lot less good than WBA and Birmingham. We competed well with those and conceded goals VAR would have taken minutes reviewing. Going to Mkm (don't go to MK Dons by mistake) I am not as pessimistic as others, lose and I will be.
  15. A bit of balance- Opta missed the early save from Alebiyosu when in truth he had two unmarked Rovers he should have passed to for a tap in so the stats are wrong. After we scored we had much the better chances for all the Birmingham possession. I saw the triple late substitution with dread and it cost us. De Neve should not have been beaten to have allowed the Brum player to get into the area and Miller was rash challenging him when he was in the area. And was it De Neve's rubbish corner which set up the Brum winner? A real sickener losing a game we had won on 90 minutes.
  16. Club has had that sinking everything falling apart feeling before but my gut tells me this is worse now.
  17. Very sad to read of Paul Round passing. As for that Rovers note WTF? They are obviously hiding something, shit scared and trying to force Ismael out of the club.
  18. Blackburn Rovers @Rovers · 1h To ensure the focus remained solely on tomorrow’s first home league fixture of the season against Birmingham City and the squad available for selection as a whole, the club limited media questions at today’s pre-match press conference on matters relating to individual players. #Rovers remains committed to open communication with all supporters and will provide updates on individual player situations at the appropriate time.
  19. Finernan not even in the Newcastle under 21 squad
  20. And we will get that all important striker signed at 23.01
  21. Will be using my Rovers TV season ticket from behind the settee.
  22. We haven't had a touch in the Bradford box yet apparently.
  23. Under 21s losing at Brackley too. If it is any consolation, Boro are 2 down at home to Doncaster...
  24. Just as well the stream hasn't started yet!
