  1. Saturday's game is our 5000th league fixture in our history. I can't help thinking there must be some commercial possibilities to mark this milestone but the article doesn't mention any. https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2023/september/12/rovers-set-for-milestone-match-/
  2. Try and contact Rovers Community Trust. They do lots of good work in the community and could perhaps point you in the right direction. https://www.rovers.co.uk/community/
  3. The under 21's are at Reading tonight and the match preview specifies that Sigurdsson won't be playing and there is no mention of Ennis. Hopefully there will be a BCD match this week so they can get some game time as Tomasson said both would be back after the international break. I'm slightly worried though that they might not get be ready for Saturday.
  4. Sincere condolences on your loss roverandout. The next few days will be tough but try and be strong for the rest of your family. RIP roverandout's Dad.
  5. I couldn't find a Rovers Ladies thread so I am putting one up. I went to watch Rovers Ladies against Sheffield United today primarily to meet an ex refereeing colleague but I have to say I really enjoyed the game. In truth I have been a sceptic about ladies football before but watching closely today has changed my opinion. From being one goal behind and missing a penaty in the first half Rovers came back to win 2-1 in a thoroughly entertaining match full of commitment and no little skill. The only criticism would be about our failure to turn really good chances into goals. Rovers were clearly well coached and a tactical change at half time saw us become dominant and in turn worthy winners. I heard on the PA system at full time that we play Crystal Palace on October 8th at Ewood. We have already pencilled the date in.
  6. Keep going for your Dad mate.
  7. The irony of closing the Blackburn End is that the Darwen End will be open for a few hundred Cardiff fans. Another new low in our history. We have racked up a few in the last thirteen years. 😬
  8. I hope all goes well with your treatment DeeCee. Hopefully a few Rovers wins can make it more bearable.
  9. In truth I don't really understand what is going on (does anybody) but my hope is that the story really discredits them and affects their standing in India. I've always thought there are people who signed NDC's who know where the bodies are buried at Ewood. Hopefully some can go public and then the screw on these reprehensible people.
  10. https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2023/september/04/young-duo-called-up-for-under-19s-duty/ International recognition for three of our youngsters along with Adam Wharton who has been called up to represent England under 20's.
  11. I wasn't actually. It just occurred to me at Home Park as the scores were coming through.
  12. I see there is another television series about the Dingles for us to endure. It's called Pointless.
  13. Tomasson's ambitions clearly outweigh those of the owners or their acolytes at Ewood. That, for me is only going to end one way. These people have blighted our club for the last thirteen years and whilst they are here we will tread water at the very best. They have very little interest in the club and its well being but they seem to be happy just to meander along whilst putting in a Kings ransom just to allow us to do so. Why?
  14. Just back after a gruelling 640 mile round trip and still feeling the disappointment from a game in which we should have got something. Scoring first is usually advantageous and I really feel if we had our away one of our first half chances we would have won. But we didn't and it was almost predictable when Plymouth scored. The start of the second half was really good from a football point of view as we poured forward and created chances and half chances. To finish the game losing 3-0 left me feeling flat and if I'm totally honest a little worried. We simply have to put more of the chances away otherwise it could be a long season.
  15. It sounds like Plymouth are trying to eradicate persistent standing at Home Park. In my experience the busier stewards like to set an example with visiting supporters first. Be aware. https://www.pafc.co.uk/news/reminder-fans-persistent-standing
  16. I'm sure I read that last season Tomasson won more cup games than Mowbray did in five years.
  17. What has a lack of appetite and Rovers got in common? Eight nowt. 😂
  18. Sorry mate I just assumed it was at Cardiff.
  19. Thanks. It appears there is an egg chasing match in Cardiff on Saturday 24th.
  20. I can't see that Cardiff are playing on the Sunday from the Sky listings. https://www.skysports.com/watch/football-on-sky/competitions/championship
  21. There was green paint sprayed on Queen Vic's statue which seemed to be there for years. The route to Ewood from town was also littered with Plymouth slogans spray painted on various walls and buildings.
  22. That was such an enjoyable evening as, for a rare occurrence I could relax and really enjoy a Rovers performance. What a credit to the club these youngsters are. Great attitude and desire to do well and from Tomasson's comments it seems they are great to work with too. I counted seven academy graduates in the team that finished alongside two youngsters in Bloxham and Markanday. Quite often games that see teams three or four up at the break and up with no second half goals but tonight our desire for more goals was clear to see and we could have had twelve. I loved Tomasson's post match comment that he wanted ten. Keeping Tomasson here should be the highest priority and the powers that be should be sitting down with him now with the offer of an extension to his deal. No penny pinching, no prevaricating just get the deal done. We won't make a better signing.
  23. I find it incredible that any fan doesn't want to progress in any competition. Beating West Ham last season was one of the highlights for me. And Tomasson thankfully makes a big thing about progressing in both cups when the games come around. Quite the opposite of his dolt of a predecessor.
  24. Dolan would be like a fish out of water at full back. Some players can play different positions but I don't believe that Dolan has any of the attributes and certainly not the discipline to play in a defensive role. It's just not going to happen in my view.
  25. I wouldn't entertain any trialling of players in a competitive game. Last season we had a great run in this competition and brought some money in. To risk that by purposely playing players out of position is complete folly in my book and disrespectful to fans who are going.
