  1. He did say June 6th but he didn't say which year though. 😆😆
  2. I don't think they have but it appears they have identified a target and gone for them whereas we have interviewed lots and are still buggering about.
  3. And there is the rub. We have had twelve years of incompetence, downsizing, failure and disappointment with this lot. Why would anybody believe that all of a sudden things are better? Nothing has changed - we are light years away from where we were when they took over and they haven't learnt anything in that time. Why would any self respecting manager want to work here after being interviewed by the likes of Waggott and Pasha? Reality took over with me ages ago and my faith in them is zero.
  4. A pure guess would be Andy Kennedy.
  5. He is actually a Sunderland supporter although he does live in Leeds. I really don't understand the lack of involvement by VAR for both penalty shouts. The very reason it was brought in was to make right major errors by the on field referee and they don't come any bigger than a Championship playoff final. Whilst Moss is getting the flak and abuse Tierney, the VAR is the most culpable here. In real time I can understand Moss not giving them but the major failing here is VAR and the PGMOL will undoubtedly hide behind the 'clear and obvious error' which is ambiguous to say the least. How much more of an error can it be when Moss actually cautions the Huddersfield player for simulation when it should be a penalty? I've said before, with the benefit of being involved for high on two decades that the refereeing world at times is almost Masonic and it's getting worse. Yesterday Corberan and Cooper had to face the press and would have been asked about the game including errors by their players. Mike Riley or one of the senior management team should have done so yesterday.
  6. I was there too. They are building new changing rooms which should be ready for next season.
  7. Both Steve Cooper and Carlos Corberan are very good tacticians which has contributed greatly to their teams success this season. Our former manager wasn't a very good tactician and contributed to our lack of success. In a nutshell for me.
  8. Corberan will have to go to his plan B now (if he has one) as his plan A of a bank of five and four is just set up to defend and play on the break. In fairness they have done a number on Forests danger men but now they have to change.
  9. How can we be nearer to an appointment if we are going to approach managers already in work? If that process is to happen then we are no nearer to making an appointment. Surely you can understand that will just delay the appointment.
  10. And apparently still no nearer to making an appointment. As David Essex once sang "oh what a circus'. Does anybody actually know the process if, for example the job is offered to Carvahal? Will contract negotiations, coaching staff and budget talks start at that point or will these have been sorted out during the interview.
  11. I was going to post similar. What a terrific game with two teams going hell for leather to win a game of football.
  12. I was given that figure by somebody who was (and still is) playing professionally. He said the figure was a big talking point in the game as it was felt that the low wage undervalued the role of a Championship manager. He also said Coyle suggested the figure. I'll ring him now and tell him to give his head a wobble.
  13. I was just looking on Lincolns website for any ticket news for our upcoming friendly there. I read an article that they have sold 5000 season tickets and have incentivised some with the offer of a shirt and match day programme. I would really have liked to see some creativity from Rovers but it's just a rinse and repeat job.
  14. And the story was that Coyle contacted Barry White directly and offered his services for an alleged £2k per week, lived locally and had a coaching cabal in tow. He got the job and the rest is history. My memory still recalls the 'outstanding candidate' quote from Cheston. That sums up the depth of footballing knowledge we have in charge now.
  15. Accrington Stanley are hosting Showaddywaddy tonight in what is a sell out. That is likely to bring in a few grand. They certainly know how to maximise their assets there. I also noted that the hospitality in Chairmans Lounge is sold out for when we play there on July 9th. I know it's not season ticket related but the common denominator should be comparative income streams.
  16. Sad to hear that Gav. I watched Blow again recently and he was excellent in that too but his finest hour was Henry Hill in the terrific Goodfellas. One of my favourite scenes.
  17. Who knows? In February the plan (as detailed by Waggott) was for the two of them to fly to India to discuss the new season and review the one just gone. The dithering by them on Mowbrays future led to him essentially making their mind up by announcing he was off. If the story of Waggott trying to convince him to stay are true it bears out what you are saying. But as I say who knows. It's just another poorly handled episode in their tenure.
  18. Not surprised but highlighting that there is very little rhyme or reason to anything that has happened over the last twelve years.
  19. If I remember correctly Lambert was appointed either just before or during an International break and it was within days of Bowyer going. Similarly Mowbray took over a very short while after Coyle was sacked. Mowbray went public and effectively handed his notice in on May 30th, almost a month ago. And we are still in the process of interviewing with seemingly a few weeks to an appointment. As has been said many times this time of year is crucial to the upcoming season with preparations and planning to be done on many fronts and we are already on the back foot.
  20. I absolutely refuse to even get remotely excited by the stories which have recently emerged about Carvahal. Having seen the decline over the last twelve years and being let down innumerable times I'll hold back on the champagne until there is a press conference with him on the top table.
  21. Similarly I know fans who miss very few games but aren't renewing until the deadline for various reasons and could potentially miss out. I can't stand this dick measuring 'first to buy a season ticket' mentality. I have actually bought my tickets direct from Accrington even before we announced them.
  22. One of my biggest issues with these owners is the absolute lack of communication, even their man on the ground doesn't communicate with the fans of local media. Instead we get Waggott who, if the stories are true has no power whatsoever. If the young man comes in and at least opens up lines of communication then that to me is a huge improvement on what we have had for over a decade. If he has a degree of autonomy that might speed up some of the snail paced processes we now have. However as always with this lot even the most simplest of things are extremely difficult.
  23. Accrington have some good hospitality deals on for when we play there if anybody is interested. https://www.accringtonstanley.co.uk/news/2022/may/hospitality-book-a-pre-season-friendly-date/
  24. Are Rovers trying a bit of blackmail over the Accrington tickets with them being on sale now to 22-23 season ticket holders? Most supporters I know will only renew either on or just before the deadline for existing season ticket holders to renew. If they are it's cheap shot.
