  1. Mowbrays penchant for picking the low hanging fruit has been evident throughout his tenure. Players he has worked with before, players from previous clubs, an assistant manager he has played and managed with, even a CEO. Mowbray likes to be in his comfort zone and retain the autonomy he enjoys as he pretty much does what he wants. He doesn't like being challenged in his megalomaniac world and surrounds himself with sycophants. I'd be really surprised if there aren't already talks about a new deal for him and Venus.
  2. For me it's a case of Mowbray strengthening his position even more. He brought in Venus, Waggott and now Park, all of whom he has worked with before. They are probably three of the four most powerful men at Rovers. It adds to the rotten stench emanating from Ewood and only a clear out will sanitise the place.
  3. How vague is that - 'operational and internal problems'. What on earth has happened to our club, famed for its off field management and the envy of many clubs, often bigger than us. And then a game is called off for that reason with no explanation. It's just another insult to us. I'm getting to the point where Conference football would be acceptable to me to clear the decks of the bastards who own and run our club.
  4. You missed the word incompetent from your last sentence. 😁😁
  5. The Rovers badge and sponsors logo usually comes with the shirt from the supplier. Names and numbers are done in house.
  6. Similarly Ian when I was an active referee the PGMOL secured a lucrative deal with Emirates but there wasn't enough time to get their badges on the shirt sleeves so they sent us the badges out separately the day before the season started. Vague instructions were supplied on how to affix the badges and the next day pitches up and down were littered with Emirates badges which had fallen off 😁😁. I took mine to a local dry cleaner and they applied them with their best presser.
  7. I was also told that the kit only arrived in Blackburn on Thursday and was completely unbranded except for the Macron logo. If all the teams they supply are in a similar position then Macron are going to have an exceptionally busy few weeks to get enough stock in to satisfy demand.
  8. What about Obafemi's wages? If Gallagher was on a reputed £35k weekly he will likely be on similar. Compared to Armstrong's wages I would think there is a huge difference of say £60k monthly which equates to £750k annually more for an unproven player if we match his Southampton salary. There is a buggeration factor in there but you get my drift.
  9. It is Ian but the wider question for me is have we got into a deal with a poor supplier. I did lots of supplier contracts and we always insisted on penalty clauses for late delivery. I don't know the details of this particular deal but if Macron promised delivery dates and didn't meet them then the club should be hammering them.
  10. Fylde normally play in white shirts at home but today they wore yellow without any numbers on them. I have been told that the only kit Rovers could get from Macron was the white one so there were frantic phone calls between the clubs yesterday with Fylde generously offering to play in yellow but couldn't get numbers on in time.
  11. RIP Paul Marriner. He was a bit of a battering ram but wasn't short on skill. He actually played for Plymouth in the never to be forgotten game at Ewood during the 74-75 title winning season. Condolences to his family and friends.
  12. According to transfermark.co.uk he missed six games with a groin injury. I remember him going off at Watford and missing several subsequent games with a hamstring injury. He was also out with ankle and calf injuries, the latter sustained whilst doing a warm up with the under 23's. He has been injury prone throughout his career and giving him a three year deal when he was nearly 30 was madness.
  13. Fan-bloody-tastic post Rolo.
  14. There was also a wage deferral which the players agreed to towards the back end of last season. Perhaps Waggott did the same.
  15. What is your opinion that he would have come here over Wigan based on?
  16. It could conceivably be our biggest attendance of the season.
  17. https://www.skysports.com Sky have announced their live tv coverage for August. Unsurprisingly we don't feature but I noticed two fixtures, Swansea v Sheffield United and Sheffield United v Birmingham kick off at 8 pm on Saturday evenings. After all the weird kick off times during BCD games I wonder if Sky will sneakily try to make this a regular slot.
  18. Armstrong's contract is running down quickly and his value drops accordingly. If he doesn't sign a new deal before the end of this window he can only be sold in January and if not be can walk away next summer. His saleable value then diminishes to nothing. It's another example of the rank had management was have endured for a decade now.
  19. And this highlights a huge Mowbray failing for me. If the link to Wyke is true it sums up the confusion and lack of identity we have endured under Mowbray as he stumbled and dithered through different systems and ways of playing over the last few years. Playing different ways with players of limited ability takes time and invariably several new signings. Mowbrays ego will once again lead to another season of confusion and frustration and in my view abject failure.
  20. It wasn't a problem until three weeks ago 😁😁😁😁.
  21. I just hope that somebody in the corridors of power at Ewood has the good sense to see the commercial opportunity there is in Chile and cash in on Brereton mania. Somehow I doubt it.
  22. All the lines he has drawn are where he wants us to pass the ball sideways and backwards amongst our defence and keeper to improve possession stats.
  23. I watched Believe Me on Netflix last night. What a superb film that really gets various emotions going.
  24. You are misunderstanding me. Given the reviews Chile are getting more out him than Mowbray and his staff have where his form has wavered between mediocre and decent but mainly the former in my view. You clearly think differently which is your prerogative.
