Unless I'm misinterpreting your post your logic says that, because of many poor appointments we should stick with Mowbray whilst the current owners are in situ. If we want to progress we have to get rid of Mowbray, Venus and Lowe. I do agree that any new managerial appointment is a roll of the dice but in the view of the majority we have to take that chance. Quite simply we are treading water and the mid table obscurity has become the norm. A new appointment now would give a new boss time to assess the squad, look at new contracts, plan new signings and pre season planning. But sticking with him until the seasons end will make all the planning difficult for a new managerial team.

Neill absolutely owned Mowbray tactically tonight. Hid three at the back and wing backs was designed to stop us playing though a flooded midfield and stopping us doing that doesn't leave much else as pretty much every manager knows we have no plan B (unless you consider random substitutes playing anywhere they like a plan). I'm afraid I'm getting to be embarrassed for Mowbray now. His inane ramblings, his bizarre team selections and tactics are having less and less effect on me and I'm beginning to think he has really lost the plot. There should be a wholesale clear out of Mowbray and his coaches. Will it happen? I don't think there's a snowball in hells chance. We will like be having these same issues with him in a years time.

I think Matty nailed it in an earlier post but Mowbray doesn't realise it's quite a disparaging comment against him and his coaches. He's getting more odd with each passing week.

That's what I thought too. So he is a good lad, wonderful attributes, great feet and a good technician and it only took Mowbray a week or two to knock it out of him and acclimatise because up until recently I saw pretty much the opposite of Mowbrays bullshit.

Another day, another stupid statement from Mowbray (I know I shouldn't read them). https://www.lancs.live/sport/football/football-news/blackburn-rovers-douglas-praise-mowbray-19818400 "Not because of what we do, but because of what Leeds did. He's had to acclimatise away from the black and whiteness of Leeds United really, I think. But he's a good lad, he's got wonderful attributes and great feet, a good technician. Leeds have one of the most revered coaches in world football and play great football but he had to acclimatise away from the " black and whitness" (whatever that means) of Leeds.

I witnessed something the other day which really made me laugh. I was driving down the main road in Darwen near Whitehall Park when I noticed an unattended mobility scooter by the side of the raid. A few yards further down I saw a bloke run into the middle of the road and pick something up. In my rear view mirror this bloke ran back across the road and got on the mobility scooter then rode off after picking his cigarettes up which he had clearly dropped whilst crossing the road on his scooter. It was straight out of Little Britain.

There must not be an SEM/Anderson connection at that publication because he hasn't been painted as the victim and it's pretty much telling the truth that he's a tosser.

You will be welcome at Ewood if you are on a Bosman 😁😁😁😁.

I see Bill regularly and always find time to have a good natter to him. He is a proper football person having played, coached, managed and been an excellent administrator at various times. He is still involved at Darwen Rangers although his son is now the main man. I actually played alongside him for a season and he was a proper ball playing, cultured centre half. He is a really good bowler and heavily involved in helping to run various leagues. I'll pass on your regards Andy when I next see him.

An interesting incident occurred before the game as Pieters was included on the official team sheet to play. Somebody realised that two cautions in the FA Cup is a suspension and Pieters had been yellow carded in rounds three and four. They changed their ream and team sheet and put it down to an 'administrative error'. In other words they didn't know. It would have been funny if he had played, they won and then got booted out.

You could well be right Tyrone. I had it in my mind that there is some synergy between wicketkeeping and goalkeeping and it was Cumbes who put it there. -

Wasn't there an annual cricket match between East Lancs and a Rovers XI during the close season? If memory serves Rovers would import a couple of Lancashire League professionals to bolster them. It is one of them events that have gone as footballers don't tend to live in the locality and jet off for several weeks as soon as the season has ended. Maybe the more intense contracts would also forbid it for fear of injury. -

Balderstone and Cumbes were two more who were professional footballers and cricketers. Wasn't Cumbes a wicketkeeper and goalkeeper? -

Tony Currie played with him at Sheffield along with players like Bill Dearden, Alan Woodward, Keith Eddy, John Colquhoun and Jim Brown and not to mention the ex Rovers like Bradford, Garbett and Speight (maybe Endean too). There was also a County cricketer called Ted Helmsley if I remember correctly. -

By a strange quirk of fate Mark I was watching The Big Match Revisited this morning that I recorded on Saturday. The third match watch Everton v Sheffield United and Field, along with Bradford and Speight were playing as they came back from two down to win. And the goal of the season contenders were shown and our man was in the six select with a terrific individual goal. -

I was talking to a friend on Saturday Mark and we both agreed that Tony Field is arguably our best pound for pound signing. He was my first ever Rovers hero and I was devastated when he left for Sheffield United, probably more upset than when Shearer left. We both remember the fee as being around £10k. -
National league and North and South

Thanks for the update. I noticed that there was only one game in the NLN yesterday but didn't know any of what you have posted. What a farce it has become and who knows how it will play out.
