  1. I have a strong feeling he doesn't want to understand the fan base. He meets with the Fans Forum bi-monthly (although he has missed some of them) and he has the occasional meeting with individuals. There has been no shareholders meeting for a few years and the Supporters Consultation meetings fell by the wayside. He is asked searching questions in these meetings and is out of both his depth and comfort zone so they don't happen. He gives the occasional interview to local media and boasts about things like paying the bills on time and the much vaunted new coach myth which incidentally Tomasson has publicly embarrassed him about. On match days he swans around the lounges chatting to corporate guests who are mainly day trippers so no hassle there for him. In short he has, in my view he has the cushiest CEO job in football. He works under no pressure to deliver anything tangible or that will benefit Rovers. And his bosses are happy for him to do it. That speaks volumes about how our club is run.
  2. We got an allocation of 3000. I never saw anything official to indicate we turned down a larger allocation although I think we could have been entitled to 10% if segregation allows.
  3. Cardiff have sold around 1000 tickets with a pay on the day facility too. They will wear black armbands to commemorate the 57th anniversary of the Aberfan disaster.
  4. Leeds and Huddersfield have reached a reciprocal agreement of £20 for their games this season. https://thefsa.org.uk/news/championship-fan-groups-call-for-efl-away-ticket-price-cap/ I have written to Waggott asking him if he intends doing the same and whilst he answered my emails he didn't answer the question. I proposed that he subsidises tickets for our game at Elland Road if he doesn't want to enter a reciprocal agreement with Leeds but he pretty much knocked this back which indicated to me that he won't be coming to any agreement with Leeds and intends to screw them whilst not caring about what we have to pay despite his lip service about away ticket prices. When the prices are announced for our game against them in December I'll revisit this with him.
  5. They already have a banjo player to go with the drummer boy.
  6. Great effort once again by Rovers fans.
  7. If I remember correctly it was only on Sunday's when Darwen had the extra half hour but I can't recall whether closing was 10.30 or 11. The pubs close to the boundary (Golden Cup, Rising Sun and Horseshoe) used to get really busy in the last half hour of opening with the proliferation of Blackburners seeking more drinking time.
  8. Millwall is a notoriously tough job primarily down to the veracity of their fans when things aren't going well. Rowett has done well overall but the fans were out of patience with him and this was inevitable. The thing I find strange is the timing as we are almost out of the international break. It could also be ominous for us as we are there next Tuesday.
  9. That is exactly how I saw it too.
  10. It's clear to me that some of the current crop aren't going to make it with us. They simply haven't kicked on and in a couple of instances have gone backwards. I really had high hopes for Jake Batty but it's just not happening for him although his recent long term injury could have affected his confidence. As you intimate at times Adam looks like he has the weight of the world on his shoulders and his contribution yesterday was negligible. That is a worry for me but I trust Tomasson to do the right thing by Adam and Rovers.
  11. He still looked a little 'heavy' although that may be his natural build. It was difficult to really gauge too much about him as the team performance was so poor. However his second goal was excellent and that finish offers some hope.
  12. Wharton played 45 minutes, Garrett 90 minutes and Ennis 60 minutes. Rovers were well beaten by a bigger and stronger Accrington side who fully deserved their win. In truth Rovers were poor and apart from Ennis scoring twice I can't find any positives. Players continually conceded cheap possession through carelessness and three of Accringtons goals could be attributed to Rovers basic errors. Ennis aside I don't think anybody impressed the watching Tomasson although Adam Wharton going off at half time could be an indication that he will play on Saturday but he was generally lethargic in his play with the occasional glimpse of his ability.
  13. The recent law change has heightened the playing out from the back increase we have seen. Up until three or four seasons ago the ball had to leave the penalty area from goal kicks but the change allowed players of the team with the goal kick to stay inside the area whilst opponents had to stay outside. Prior to this I guess most clubs considered it too risky but now the extra few seconds they have gives them a chance to try and pick a pass.
  14. It's risk versus reward for me and risk wins hands down. I can't remember a goal scored in the EFL which came as a result of 'playing out from the back'. I watched a NWCL game yesterday and both teams were trying i it when players clearly weren't capable of or had anywhere near the skill level. The most stupid, irritating pass in football is the straight ball from the keeper to a team mate who is facing him with an opponent pressing. Think Travis against Nobbers at home last season.
  15. So sorry for your loss roverandout. Hopefully she didn't suffer too much. RIP roverandout's mum.
  16. I got some tickets this morning but not without the usual hassle. I was near the head of the queue and noticed it was moving really slowly and there was some frantic action behind the tills. It was clear that only one terminal was working and the queue was starting to build up. What appeared to be a manager came down and after trying several terminals asked if anybody in the queue was paying cash as the card machines weren't working. Fortunately I had some cash which was to pay for my burglar alarm to be repaired so I moved forward. As I was getting served I heard one of the staff say that they had been trying to contact the IT Department but nobody was in yet. This was at 9.20. It really is easy street for some at Ewood under this current regime replicating the CEO who seemingly couldn't give a toss.
  17. I forgot to mention that the Nice players and officials were brought to Ewood and back to their hotel/airport on OUR coach. The bloody cheek of it. I hope Swag is deducting the cost from their expenses. Oh wait a minute...
  18. But where would we be without them,........... All their chickens are coming home to roost.
  19. In a game which ebbed and flowed I thought a draw would have been a fair result but I'll certainly take the win. We started brightly, scored and should have scored a couple before Nice rallied and had a period when they were on top and Michalski in goal made some smart saves. The second half continued in much the same vein and their late equaliser seemed to knock the stuffing out of us. At that stage I could only see one winner with Nice buoyant but Rovers nicked it with a deflected goal to seal the win. At times we played some really good stuff but at other times we were guilty of over playing and turning over cheap possession. Well done to the youngsters.
  20. It's a complete myth that he was in tears. He got substituted in an FA Cup game at Birmingham in what was an abject performance by nearly all the players, not just him. He was so disappointed with his display that he held his head in his hands when he sat down. That was told to me by somebody who was in the technical area at the time. There were cheers when he went off from a few Rovers fans, that few that I doubt it was barely audible from the technical area. In general Rovers fans showed more than enough patience with him as he struggled to make his mark. It was Mowbray who actually banished him to the under 21's for a game or two to try and build his confidence.
  21. Four players in the EFL team of the week. Is this a first? I'm glad the independent panel who picked this didn't think 'it's only QPR'.
  22. Plymouth was another. If Hedges puts away that gilt edged chance I'm convinced we would have won.
  23. I walked back to White City after the match and chatted to two QPR fans who have resigned themselves to relegation but interestingly didn't blame Gareth Ainsworth. They said the turmoil off the field over a period of time has culminated in their current position. They did say though that they thought he would be sacked but his only saving grace could be they can't afford to pay him off.
  24. Four has been a common theme this weekend as we scored four and the Dingles and Nobbers conceded four. Unfortunately Rovers Women conceded four in a fully deserved defeat to Palace. After seeing them for the first time a few weeks ago I was looking for a performance similar to that game but in truth we were poor. There was no fluency or pace in our game and the disappointed body language towards the end was telling. There is another home game next Sunday against Charlton and a chance to put this behind them.
  25. Heaven help us. He has started his nonsense early hasn't he. I can't believe that people pay to read his guesswork.
