I find James Wade quite an odd player. He's generally a one treble per visit merchant which shouldn't really be good enough to trouble the very top players these days but somehow he always seems to drag his opponent down to his level and often manages to pull off a decent finish to nick a leg he's been behind in. If Littler is on his best form tomorrow it'll be a slaughter but I wouldn't be surprised if Wade makes it scrappy and the match ends up reasonably close.

I'd be really surprised if Brittain was still here by the end of the window. Bit of posturing going on at the moment re price but I think we know what'll happen, he'll go late on in the window and as likely as not we won't get a replacement.

So at the moment adding in Buckley and discounting them, we have 21 registerable players with, in all probability, Brittain set to leave? Out of the ones who dont need to be registered, you'd probably expect Leonard to go out on loan as well. Very thin in certain areas, predominantly in attacking ones.

Not for me, remember him turning his back on a team mate away at Swansea because he didn't want the ball from a throw in. Whatever his beefs with management that was utterly inexcusable. Not sure why some people are saying we dont need another striker. Tyjon is obviously a completely unknown variable but if he doesn't particularly come off we're only an injury or loss of form to Ohashi or Gueye from being completely bereft up front. I think we need at least one and ideally two more strikers as well as obviously needing a decent right winger to replace Dolan. Whether we get them or not remains to be seen as obviously decent forward players tend to be the ones that cost the most money. When Woodrow and Dennis came in in January I thought that was at least then the right number of attacking options albeit they predictably turned out to be shite as for one thing they weren't even match fit.

Seems odd we can get a decentish fee for a 12 year old kid but only minimal compensation for a 17 year old who's been through the Academy.

That's the one thing VI has said that's impressed me the most since he's been here. That he doesn't like loans. Whether or not he gets his way and secures further permanent additions I very much doubt.

We didn't gain much from it though did we? One moment we're all crowing about what a masterstroke it was to tie Phillips down to a new deal, 12 months later we learn that actually it had a clause in allowing him to leave for relative peanuts. I found it quite odd. Like we were just keeping him warm for Spurs for 12 months. I presume we would have been entitled to some form of compensation for him anyway?
