Valérien Ismaël: Blackburn Rovers Head Coach
alex l replied to DE.'s topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Could the right tracks involve us threatening the opposition goal? I think Ipswich had more on target today than we've had in the last 5 games -
Valérien Ismaël: Blackburn Rovers Head Coach

The removal of VI doesn't solve all problems, far from it, but his coaching is poor. The missing players, and quality of them relative to our squad, would impact any side. That is unquestionable. However when you are struggling to win, simple logic is make yourselves hard to beat. There's been no sign of that at all under him. Mind you it didn't help selling your most consistent and best centre back and replacing him with a midfielder or right wing back who you want to convert to a cb. -
The January 2026 Transfer Window

Or if he was intending to sign, especially a permanent transfer, that he'd bring his car over. I seem to remember Lewis Holtby not flying, it isn't the only option especially when there is time to go in the window. -

Notice his wife plays for Man U Women. Not an obvious consideration but maybe something to consider as the women's game grows, if their partners play they'll likely prefer to be based in the same area -

Why so intolerant of people who don't share the same view or might agree with the cause but still want to watch the team and support the players? I'm not going but there's no need to hate on those who are, it only serves to create further division. -
Retweeted by Leonard. Wasn't aware we'd offered a new contract, makes the sale more understandable given he didn't sign it. Also indicates we're low-balling offers.

De neve was quoted as saying he is on 4x his previous salary. Whilst we don't know what he was earning at his last club, he was still a pro in a top division, so it wouldn't have been pennies. I'll resist the temptation to have a go at whoever negotiated the salary from the club's perspective. -
Venky’s (& Suhail) Out Protest Ideas

I don't know if I'm being nitpicky by this point, but shouldn't Barcode Logistics have their logo in this graphic? It's like there's no quality checking of any sort -

Relatively minor, but another example of the incompetence at the club - not deleting a cued post when the women's game was announced as postponed yesterday -

He did that earlier before putting the Cashin name out, think it was an explosive emoji for that one. Has a history of being cryptic, but equally, one he puts something out, it tends to come to fruition -
One and a half games without the keeper having to make a save of note. Cantwell trying too hard, lost the ball too many times. Don't think there has been a single player coming off from the first half with any credit of note.

Literally seems to be for an individually numbered shirt and box. But as you say, it's difficult to justify the price point for those alone. It'll get even more embarrassing if/when the shirts are discounted. Wouldn't be surprised if they are 'prizes' in the Rovers Return draw or for people who buy a ST next season. -

500 of the boxed, numbered ones. Presumably quite a lot of the 'standard' ones, they're in a full range of adult sizes going up to 5xl -
The State of Ewood Park!
alex l replied to A Northern Horde...'s topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Even some of the Venkys logos around the pitch look worn or at the very least in need of a clean. Perhaps they don't watch, despite what is claimed. -
The State of Ewood Park!
alex l replied to A Northern Horde...'s topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Fully in agreement that Ewood Park has been neglected and needs much care, but comparing it to the murder of a baby through abuse is either a ridiculous exaggeration of what is going on at a football club or downplaying an evil and vile act. -

How refreshing to have a player on the left who understands the basics of defending. Might not offer much going forward or have pace, but at least Pickering is in position to help at the back. -
Valérien Ismaël: Blackburn Rovers Head Coach

Arguably VI has had it worse in a way - they sold/lost half of his starting team in one window and brought in the calibre of de neve, Sidnei and henriksson, plus a lad who would miss a third of the season. JDT and JE didn't face that level of mismanagement. -
Seems a bit of a generalisation, and not something I'd heard of. And in Alebiosu's case, it was reported he had to apply for a Nigerian passport months ago in order to be eligible, so hardly a shock to him.

No expertise beyond GCSE physics, but I suppose the water is now channeled to where the river runs faster?! Rather than slower moving in the wider part where the wall is. However it doesn't resolve the primary issue which seems to be how slow the immediate drainage from the pitch is, or when the river level reaches the outlet height
