After seeing those stats above Reading have zero midweek away wins in 2.5 seasons with only 2 wins from 36. At ewood reading have played 11 won 1. It’s not the top of the league and conceded one that’s worries me it’s that bit. Rovers have always had a pathological desire to end any clubs winless runs. No away wins for 2 and a half seasons who you gonna call....ROVERS.

Yeah. In the context of rovers it’s effectively dominating inferior sides while struggling against better ones. This season it has merit. We’ve smashed derby and 10 men Wycombe/Coventry all of whom make up the bottom 3-4, points deductions aside. Lost to Bournemouth/Watford who are in the play offs and failed to beat teams around us (Cardiff). Forest was an off day. Next week will be a big test to dispel the flat track bully tag. Tuesday - Reading flying at the top conceding one goal. Saturday - Swansea who I think are just in the play offs but certainly above us. Get 4-6 points from those I might start to believe we are more than mid table makeweights.

They say the sign of a good team is one that plays badly and wins. Well we are literally the reverse of that and have been for the last year or so. I was as happy as anybody with the transfer window and even the recent performances but I’ve never been more convinced that under Mowbray we will never ascend beyond the lofty heights of mid table. You’re absolutely correct can’t pick a team until see them. But the options look good. The back 5 takes care of itself really but the other 6 there’s exiting options. Travis and Trybull probably deeper then a choice of Johnson, holtby, Dack, dolan, Elliott, Rothwell, Armstrong even Brereton. But this is my fear - Tonebola picking Sam bloody Gallagher on the wing (wide striker ?) to win the occasional isolated header vs the oppo’s left back. If that happens I’ll give up.

That one reads slightly better than the other ones which were slightly pathetic. Divert blame and dither. Even in this one I don’t doubt for one second they are “preserving ewood park at the standards THEY have been accustomed to.” That’s the problem. Zero standards.
