  1. There are people out there who feel constantly let down by the club and can see nothing positive in anything they do (must admit I’m in that category and I genuinely think there’s pretty much no positives to come out of the last decade). Or maybe I’m so bitter about them I can’t see any. Then there are those who can see no wrong in anything the club does. A kind of sweet love is blind kind of way. But I suspect the majority of people take a pragmatic view and are just in the middle ground. It’s these people the club needs to keep on side. Lose them over overzealous pricing you might lose them forever. Just seems a crappy way to lose fans when our billionaire owners don’t really need the money from a few thousand paying 50 quid or so more.
  2. I think preston fans have been shafted vis a vis value for money. The difference between the 2 clubs is there’s presumably good will built up over years which nobend want to cash in on. With rovers there’s zero good will in the bank so they pretty much need to bend over backwards to get rovers fans in. Needless to say we won’t but don’t expect more than a few thousand if priced anything like nobend
  3. Not sure I follow the Liverpool comparison. £685 to watch one of the best football sides in the world, playing at the highest level, 100 million fans ish world wide, sold out stadium every week. In terms of where to pitch the price I’d say with the ill will and apathy towards the club the only way we’d shift decent numbers is if that lowest bolton price was our highest. Embarrassingly low. The Venkys can stump up the rest. Their baby after all
  4. Well where to start with that statement. Firstly at least they’ve sprung into action with a communication. Hurrah. I think that’s where the positivity ends. That just doesn’t read well. Some cringeworthy statements and as for we are together did anyone else think of Orwell’s animal farm and we’re all equal but some are more equal than others. Also they’re freezing kids season tickets but rising adults. Surely it must have occurred to them that in all probability parents will be buying a kids season ticket. So although kids will pay the same the overall cost for the family will still go up. All in it together though. Re pricing I’ve always thought as a general example it’s better to have 10,000 paying £200 each than 5,000 paying £400 each. But it would appear we’re going down the latter route.
  5. He did a backflip summersault type thing in the fa youth cup 1/4 final at ewood. Don’t know if that’s his trademark celebration but hoping will find out a fair few times.
  6. Well quite. Particularly for one in £180 million worth of debt
  7. Maybe so. Can’t please everyone particularly in unprecedented times but they are at least kept in the loop and they’re doing something. I just don’t know what if anything Rovers have been doing for the last few months.
  8. Particularly as in most towns like Blackburn the football club is the heart of the community and should be a source of pride. At the moment the club is a source of embarrassment. It may well be impossible to build a side capable of promotion but not letting the ground and immediate vicinity become derelict seems an easy fix
  9. Using nobend as an example. Their most recent update of presumably others. They’re engaging with their fans saying what the challenges are that they face, why they reached certain decisions, acknowledging shortcomings and generally giving fans info. https://www.pnefc.net/news/2020/august/club-update-season-ticket-policy/ For our regal owners and the stooges they appoint there’s been a tumbleweed bouncing down the road. To me it comes across like the rovers hierarchy either haven’t considered anything and if they have they certainly don’t need to share it with the peasants.
  10. Not so much a comment on season tickets but went to watch Clitheroe vs fc united of Manchester today. 400 ish on. Probably over half mancs though. But for the life of me I don’t understand why if 400 are allowed into a tiny ground in the dog and duck league why Rovers etc aren’t allowed 6k ish in a 30k stadium. Even if allowed 20% of each grounds capacity its a start.
  11. Lucky you! We struggled like buggery to have a sup last night. Been out fair few times since the lockdown ended but never encountered anything as difficult as last night. Suppose with it being the last bank holiday Sunday should have booked tables but live and learn. Bowland effectively turfed everyone about 8:30. Castle/station/emporium shut at 9. So bar, Rose and crown, swan, white lion, dog, key street either fully booked or massive queues. Brown cow/new inn/buck/social not open. At one point seemed 100s of folk wandering the streets trying to get in anywhere. After some serious convincing eventually let us have a few inside piccalinos.
  12. Players are often judged relative to expectations. My personal expectations of Brereton are rock bottom. So when he performs the most basic duties expected of a professional footballer (not even a 7 million pound one) it’s pleasantly surprising. I think he’s having more regular spells where he looks like a championship player and this is a vast improvement on a player that looked like he should be playing in the dog and duck leagues. In my opinion he will almost certainly never justify his price tag and still has a long away to go to convince me he’ll be a half way decent striker for the club.
  13. Could they not just move it to goodison park.
  14. I liked him as a player. But this is an example of everything I hate about football. Modern footballers are so detached from reality it’s unbelievable. He’ll earn more in a month than I do in a year for 1% of the effort. Ironically, Mowbray (presumably who it was aimed at) showed far too much loyalty to him with that ridiculous extension for a player who’s ready for the scrap heap. Plus from what I gather his own loyalty didn’t stretch that far to Aberdeen when Celtic came knocking.
  15. I’m not sure how it used to work but not sure had a training ground to call their own either. They’ve recently bought a training ground in euxton off Wigan. Who previously bought it off Bolton. So I’ve been saying you’ve bought a cursed training ground. As part of the banter they focus on the fact the once mighty Blackburn Rovers are now hovering up pne’s castoffs like a dirty beggar looking for crumbs. Fair enough. But I’d love it if Dolan becomes a player
  16. On the face of it if West Brom are also interested in kipre we have no chance. But the way to sell it to him would be instead of sitting on the bench every week at West Brom you will play every week at rovers. Hope the lessons have been learnt from Patrick Bauer where nobend sold it as building a defence round him and we sold it that he might eventually get in ahead of Derrick Williams once learned the Mowbray ethos.
  17. I was talking to my pne mate about him. Apparently don’t have an academy set up like we do. So when players outgrow the youth set up so to speak they can’t just keep players hanging around. Plus they run a tighter ship in terms of wage bill. So with their youth players unless they are pretty much nailed on for first team football they just release them regardless of potential. On yesterday it does beg the question why was he release but hopefully our gain. Winning goal at deepdale...
  18. Need defenders. Sign midfielders. Tis the Mowbray way. Makes total sense in for this darcy.
  19. Defenders are coming. They have been for 2 years so must arrive shortly.
  20. Considering the state of the stadium I'm shocked they didn’t have to shoo away rogue wildlife off the pitch before kick off.
  21. I doubt it’s the Venkys. Even their cardboard cut outs will have got bored of their baby.
  22. I must admit I’d never heard of this bloke or the black panther film before today. And I’m still none the wiser on how he’s meant to have changed the world as someone on the bbc news claimed. But I’ve all the respect in the world for someone clearly in the public eye who’s had cancer for 4 years and kept it secret without milking it.
