Tony Mowbray - Stick or Twist ?
matt83 replied to Tyrone Shoelaces's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Christ if the league campaign resembles giving it priority I’d hate to see how poor we’d be if we took an extra 1-4 games seriously. -

Yes and I’m sure fans of the mighty Beijing Sinobo Guoan fc would have been saying there’s no way Billic would come here. -

Still a chance of the play offs. Do you honestly believe we have a realistic chance of the play offs? Over the last 4 seasons 6th has had 70, 74, 75 and 80 points respectively. Half way through the season and we’re on 32 points. So based on those seasons would need another 38-48 points. That’s literally title winning form from the 2nd half of the season. Nothing to suggest that’s on the horizon. -

If 15 subs were allowed he’d still use them and every one would make us slightly worse. -

And there it is Mowbray’s post match excuse. Their keeper had the temerity to make some saves. -

We dust ourselves off and go again. We dust ourselves off and go again. We dust ourselves off and go again. We dust ourselves off and go again. We dust ourselves off and go again. Same old crap under Mowbray. Not surprised. Dare I say not hugely bothered under this regime -
Not to do with contracts particularly but I see the rovers fitness coach has left for family reasons. In the grand scheme of things hardly news worthy but with the amount of pulls and muscle strains we get I’m questioning what goes on down there. So could be an opportunity to look at that with fresh eyes. However, the history shows the Venkys don’t replace folk. Did we ever replace the groundsman.

Probably more the very good fortune that defence came up against a side without a goal for 345 minutes of football. That said I’m stunned that lot kept a clean sheet. On paper that’s still the worst back 4 I can recall. If anyone can think of a worse one I’ll happily stand corrected. -

In the grand scheme of things the 3 points makes no difference. Not in a relegation battle nor in a play off race. Just zeroing in on that 12th spot. Long live mediocrity. -

I would only say he’s lost the dressing room in that they’ve probably lost faith in what he’s saying and doing. But I suspect for the easy life they’d back him to the hilt. -

One thing fat Sam has had throughout his managerial career is accusations that his teams play crap football. By and large it is dreadful but results justify it. Rovers are playing equally crap football just a different type. Lions share of possession in our own half going backwards and sideways before someone lumps it forward. This is grim but not the worst I’ve seen -

Can see why they’ve only got 1 point from 6 games. They’re bloody awful. -

I think today goes down as the worst back 4 the club has ever started. Certainly in my memory. We’ve had a couple of duff players (some mentioned above) together at once but not 3 dreadful ones and Lenihan with no form. I think in 10 20 years time when there’s another crap back 4. Folk should go back and compare it to this one -

Well yeah. If Travis has been rushed back and limps off again there’s only one man to blame. -

Only positive I can see from that is with Travis back that’s one less excuse. -

The benefit of this ifollow crap is you can see the line up and decide whether or not to bother paying or not. In normal times you’ve already committed yourself to entering the ground however much you want to turn around and go home. My line in the sand of not watching is if any of Gallagher, Douglas or Bennett (when fit) starts.
