Premier League season 21/22
jim mk2 replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Minor southern clubs over Lancashire town teams. Really? Time for the great historic northern clubs such as Sheff Wed, Sheff Utd, Sunderland, Bolton, Preston, Rovers etc to regain confidence and get back and stay in the top league......that's "where they should be" -

At one point Giles let the ball slip under his right foot for a throw-in because of his lack of control and the angles of playing on that flank are different; he's one of the most one-footed players I've seen Him playing on the right wing was classic Mowbray of square pegs in round holes and overthinking a problem that did not exist -

With you 100%. There's a lad on another thread who says it's the content that matters, not the grammar or spelling. Wouldn't get a job at my place -

Millwall and their fans will be seething after the ref called off the Ewood match and they're on a tremendous run of form - they will be well up for this one. If they win and win their match in hand, they overtake us. It's that tight at the top Somehow we've got to find a way to score goals again and while the defence and Kaminski had a rare off day at Fulham I'd hope we'd be back to our usual tight defensive unit. I wouldn't be surprised if this was a 0-0. -
From the position we were in, 2nd place, and with a fair wind, in with a chance of challenging for the top, failure to qualify for the play-offs would see most managers sacked But the same has been said of Tony many times over the past 5 years so unless he decides he's had enough and resigns he'll still be here next season. My feeling is he will carry on - football is a drug and he loves the rush of it. Like Hodgson, Wenger etc some of them cannot let go

Lots of people complaining about some of the Fulham "dirty" players and the antics of the likes of the Mitrovic and the pony tailed centre half in particular but the match provided another example of how Rovers get bullied out of games. Our pygmy lightweight forward line that started the match was a joke - the Fulham defenders must have looked at Dolan and Khadra and Giles are been sniggering to themselves. Tosin played most of the match barely having to break sweat We've needed some tougher nuts in the team for some while, forwards who will rough up the centre halves and midfield players who will put their foot in when needed. We're far too "nice"

Highly unlikely we won’t lose at least one. Millwall in midweek is a possibility - they’re on a good run and can overtake us on our present form. Bournemouth and QPR lost games yesterday from winning positions. It happens. We might go unbeaten from here but it’s fanciful in my view

Unless Mowbray does something this will be 5-0 and another big dent in our GD -

Kharda's offered nothing and Dolan has been anonymous. As for Giles on the right...... Where's a goal coming from? -

Johnson delayed his pass and then made it too short, meaning Nyambe had to check his stride and got clobbered by the defender. If I'd been Nyambe I'd have been fuming I actually like Johnson and though he had a good game against QPR, but he made a mess of that pass and Nyambe paid the price -

.... and the rubbish pass that led to Nyambe's in jury -
Sheff U 1-0 up, it's getting tighter and a defeat on Saturday and if other results go badly we could be outside the top 6

Huddersfield 2-0 ahead in 13 minutes and in 2nd place as it stands They're the form team

2020 figures Stoke City debt £170m Blackburn Rovers debt £140m So yes, at "only" £140m we're a model of corporate governance

in the early 1980s I saw Michael Holding play for Rishton at Ramsbottom - opened the bowling (he was very fair, always pitching the ball up and no short stuff) and batting at No 5 (he took Rammy's Aussie pro apart). Going back much farther, my grandfather used to love watching West Indies great Learie Constantine (Connie) play for Rammy, dashing home for his tea between innings. Sadly, the Lancs League isn't as strong as it used to be
