  1. Every manager knows when their time is up and they cannot do any more, and that results are so bad their position is untenable. I think Mowbray is nearing that point. His whole demeanour last night showed a man who doesn't know what to do. It's ok to say he went on "a similar death spiral" last season, and "Waggott laughed" when questioned about Mowbray's position, but it's missing the point, which is that there comes a time when a manager - even Mowbray - loses credibility and has to walk away. Two more defeats could see Mowbray leave the club IMO.
  2. If body language spoke volumes then watching Mowbray on the bench tonight you'd have to say he would probably resign in the morning (he won't of course). His facial expressions were that of a man who hadn't a clue what was going on or how or why his team were playing so badly. I'm sure he was wound up inside but on the surface there was no passion whatsoever. Spitting every few minutes doesn't count I'm afraid. Two defeats in the next 2 matches and I would say Tony's position would be untenable.
  3. I don't think so, but we'll do well to finish above halfway
  4. Club is in freefall. Players look disorganised and disinterested.
  5. Most players looking as if they couldn't care less
  6. So many players wandering about, just going through the motions
  7. As it stands, is that 1 win seven?
  8. And Armstrong misses another
  9. Good old Tone. Couldn't organise an orgy in a brothel
  10. Why would anyone be happy with the way we are playing, our poor results and our current position in the table?
  11. Apart from a disastrous run of results similar to his time at Coventry, what will it take for Mowbray to depart ? Shearer summed up Newcastle fans' frustration on MotD last night - they want their club and team if not winning trophies but to be seen to be competitive and challenging, "not just to be happy just to exist" Because that's what we're doing at the moment - just existing, going through the motions of playing games, winning a few, losing a few, without any sign of breaking this grinding, frustrating nothingness.
  12. I said on here in midweek that today would be 1-1 and I backed my hunch with a chunky bet And I've often waited for your predictions and done the opposite, and done well too I'm up £8,787 so far this season. Happy New Year!
  13. Pulis has never lost to Mowbray as manager in 8 games. Nothing about to change
  14. Don’t bank on it. Unless Armstrong has a cracker Tony’s Christmas turkeys are due a stuffing on recent form.
  15. Top class player John Edrich and a real tough nut. Him, boycott, Barrington, never gave their wicket away. RIP
  16. Pulis unbeaten in 8 meetings with Mowbray teams. Can't see any reason why that won't continue Rovers 1 Wednesday 1
  17. Ridiculous. How can someone living in London know how Rovers fans feel or have any connection with the club? On that kind of salary he could buy himself a nice house in the Ribble valley anyway.... is that too much to expect of someone earning that kind of money?? Waggott (if it is him) needs to leave Ewood asap and replaced by someone who has a genuine love of our club
  18. Typical Rovers after a great result in the previous game. I bet there was a good crowd too. I didn't see it fortunately but can remember the incredulity among teachers at school
  19. John Bond, Martin Peters?, Standen in goal?, Lampard?, Brian Dear, Billy Bonds, Redknapp, Brabrook, a few names that come to mind though might be too early for some of them. And we all know the score in the reverse fixture a few days later
  20. I said my memory was hazy! Byrom definitely scored while he was limping though!
  21. My best memory of John Byrom although I might be wrong as memories are hazy after all this time was the FA Cup match against Arsenal in the 1965.66 season, the year we were relegated but had a good cup run. We beat Arsenal 4-0 with Byrom scoring at least 2 hobbling around on one leg after getting injured!
  22. I was there Den and I will never forget it. We took the Spurs double side apart
  23. Surprised you didn't spot John Byrom. Smashing player.
  24. Hope Mercer has lost a shedload with his silly predictions
