  1. Moeen is not a 3. He's an 8 Jennings has proved already he's not Test quality, with a poor technique. The only virtue is he's young and might get better, but the best players look at home from the start, and he's a bag of nerves. Apart from Root, who is a 4, England basically have a team of No 6s and 7s - Bairstow, Stokes, Buttler, Curran etc shouldn't be any higher.
  2. England effectively need a new 1, 2 and 3 because Moeen isn't a 6 never mind a 3. Well played, Alistair Cook. A proper Test cricketer.
  3. Can a bare bear bear it when it bares its arse in bear market?
  4. We should copy the French method of developing players. Most of them are from the Paris area. Brilliant article in the FT magazine on it back in the summer.
  5. In view of Rovers' record of munificence against teams in need of a fillip I'd say the game is a nailed-on Villa win..
  6. Fans were right to question Mowbray's appoinment. He left Coventry after losing about 10 games in a row and his record as a manager was mixed to say the least. I wasn't alone in asking why he deserved to be handed the Rovers job.
  7. Mowbray should find him a nice Lancashire lass and tell them to settle down in the Ribble valley.
  8. Astonishing finish at Taunton. Somerset needed 78 to win and were bowled out by Lancs for 77 - a tie !
  9. Rather puts his "socialising" with friends before the Bristol game into context. The lad clearly doesn't know right from wrong.
  10. Another great day for Lancashire's batsmen while Somerset's tail wagged for far too long. Not looking good
  11. Historically Mowbray's teams have always played that way. Fans of Celtic and West Brom will say the same. Attractive football but always likely to concede goals. He needs to change and become a more pragmatic manager. The win over Brentford showed the way.
  12. Question for all current/former amateur/semi-pro players out there. What did you do when Saturday came round, and you were out of the team with a short-term injury ? Did you go and watch the team, even go in the dressing room before the game to offer support, because you were part of a club and were "all in it together" ? Or did you forget about the team and go and socialise with friends ?
  13. We needed better defenders in the transfer window - and a new goalkeeper. We;ll get more defeats like this
  14. Mowbray needs to have a rethink after today. This is a wake-up call that we are in a better division and sloppy, poor play will be punished.
  15. 4-1. Defence clearly a big problem....but then Mowbray;s teams have always leaked alot of goals.
  16. I blame Dack. That social media pic put the players in a wrong frame of mind
  17. Third division play gets punished by experienced team from higher division. Changes needed
  18. Do you know what behaving like a "professional" (athlete not social animal) means? Anyway back to the match. Come on Rovers
  19. Dack's very privileged. He's young and very well paid. He'll be a multimillionaire by the time he's 30. It's not asking much to make sacrifices for a few years. If I were Mowbray I'd be telling him some home truths
  20. This is silly. You weren't a "professional" footballer. - he is (or supposed to be). Professionals look after their body - which means a quiet social life and no alcohol.
  21. Dack being seen in party mode with his friends while out injured sends the wrong message in my eyes. At least he should have had the sense to keep it quiet instead of posting this sort of stuff all over social media. He'll never make it to the very top if he doesn't take his job seriously.
  22. Dack showing why he never made the grade at Charlton. Does he want to be a top flight footballer or not ?
  23. I like Turkey - had many happy holidays there (love the food). But I wouldn't go again while Erdogan is in power.
