  1. Root's head has gone with this Bazball stuff... why did he play that shot at the end of the over? Crazy And then he tries to run himself out. There's 2 days to go and they're taking risky singles
  2. Six sessions over 2 days, even allowing for the weather, England can do this without taking any risks, nurdling the ones and twos. Wouldn’t that be something ….. making the target without hitting a 4?? If I were captain that’s what I’d be telling my batsmen. The Bazball mindset has led to defeats in the first 2 Tests. Heads down today for some proper Test cricket and grind out the win
  3. It’s been a low scoring match so far and I don’t see why it should be any different in England’s 2nd innings. The other lot will come out all guns blazing - 2 quick wickets and the target suddenly looks a long way off. Fingers crossed though - there’s nothing better than beating them
  4. Proper Test batsmen would take 2 days if necessary
  5. Wish I had your confidence mate. I’ve been following England so long to know anything is possible so it’s always best to fear the worst because the worst usually happens
  6. 225 ahead and counting it’s too many with out T20 mentality batsmen
  7. 5 down, 43 runs to keep the target under a perhaps manageable 200
  8. You can think what you want but it's highly unlikely Still waiting for your insider knowledge on "what Stokes and McCullum are actually saying to the players"
  9. Smith out, keep chipping away lads
  10. We couldn't make 250 first time, so it's highly unlikely in the second innings On another note, Bairstow has been a liability this match. He needs to make a big score in the 2nd innings to repay the runs debt Eight wickets in 95 runs needed to keep the target at a reasonable 250. Anything more and it's goodnight
  11. Already 80 ahead (thank you Jonny and Joe), 9 wickets needed in 120 runs.
  12. 250 will be too much for England to chase Need to knock them over for less than 200
  13. Moeen with his usual little cameo and then gets out. Just another example of brainless batting And right before lunch Woakes gives his wicket away. Four wickets in the session. This isn't England losing to the "best team in the world"; this is us being casual and making it too easy
  14. Thank you Jonny for your contribution in this Test match Into the tail now and 150 if we're lucky? 150 should have been their score
  15. Dropped catches and batting failure Well played Joe
  16. Neville Cardus would provide a beautifully written, finely argued, explanation. Hiding behind Sky doesn't count. Still waiting.
  17. Go on Neville Cardus, enlighten me.
  18. It was their day without a doubt - but it should never have been. England should have dismissed them for a very low score but poor catching - led by Bairstow again- let us down. They've taken 3 catches from 3 chances offered. I keep saying it but you can't make mistakes against this lot because they punish you. The Bazballers are out, predictably, and Root and Bairstow and Stokes have to play sensibly and not make any silly errors for us to get anywhere near their score.
  19. Root has to get his head down and make a big hundred here. He owes it to England for his dropped catches and giving his wicket away several times in the first 2 Tests.
  20. Phukett, there goes Duckett - and Crawley looks about as solid as a leaf in the wind Carey not following the Bairstow script by taking a good catch. 60-4 at stumps?
  21. Give us a 3-2 win and I'll think about it😀
  22. Well bowled Mark Wood - good to see him fully fit and pitching the ball up instead of banging it in short - he deserved that 5-fer. That afternoon session however involving the slogger Marsh and the dropped catches was poor cricket and hurt us - the total should have been around the 170-180 mark. If England can make 350 - 400 we'll be in with a chance.........
  23. Either the sight lines are bad for fielders at Headingley or England are just playing poor cricket We'll see when England bat. Will the other lot drop 4 catches too? Unlikely
  24. Good old England..... giving up a hard-won advantage through poor basic cricket skills. In each Test we've had been on top at some point but failed to keep hammer home the advantage. This third Test is possibly being lost in this session
